Poachers Come Set Our Fishing Spot On Fire!

What started out as a normal fishing day turned into an absolute nightmare when a poacher started a forest fire at our fishing spot. Luckily, Mark and I were able to fight the fire with buckets, bottles, and ourselves before things got too severe.

This was insane. When I lived in the Carolinas, I had a neighbor who decided to burn a pile of pune straw in his yard. Unfortunately he didn't do the best at putting out the embers and the straw went inferno and caught his work shed on fire that night. I woke to explosions as he was standing outside with a garden hose. The fire department came and put out the fire, but since pinestraw is so persistent it caught back on fire the next 3 days straight. The fd finally sent the forestry to dig a firebreak. I understand what you were going through after seeing all that pinestraw. One thing I learned though is to push the ashes towards the center and create a path of dirt so the fire has a harder time of spreading. Well done and stay safe. Some people just have no common sense or decency

People don’t understand how unstable those fires are. You can put water on it and it will still start back up as soon as you turn your back to it. You need to absolutely drench the ground with water and in a perfect world use a thermo camera to make sure theres no hot spots that are going to start a fire up again.
