I have fun listening when you roll solo with speculations and questions based on your own studies. So, I ask for you to not delete any videos. They're solid. Now, and I want to be fair, Neal and Derek are cool, but it's appreciated when one has a similar passion in these select subject matters. Their channels are more for sticking it to the Christians. Perhaps general talk in relation to dark parts of Christianity with people who are in that beginning out-of-the-closet atheist stage in life and are moving on from a religious upbringing. That's well and good. I prefer guests that will enhance your presentations with better conversation and interest. More on your level in those regards. Can James Valiant join in sometime soon?

36:20 - If James (the brother of Jesus) was killed in the late '30's, then Galatians would have to date even earlier (since Paul argues against James as if he's still alive and gives no indication of having bumped him off). Galatians was written to an existing Christian congregation or group of congregations in Asia Minor (Turkey), which were well-established enough for James to send representatives to in order to lead them back to Torah-observance, so that Paul felt the need to write the letter to counter their efforts. Isn't that an awful lot of stuff to be happening in less than a decade after Jesus' death? Especially since Paul's first missionary journey is dated to around 46 C.E., i.e., another decade after he would have killed James? Or does Berman date the Crucifixion and Paul's missionary journeys earlier?

Is there any evidence that James the Just was ever a Galilean peasant fisherman? The descriptions in the extrabiblical texts they read make him sound like a high-ranking member of the Jewish clergy rather than a (likely illiterate) outsider, or someone who started out as such.

You guys aren't taking into account how people create meaning out of meaninglessness! The whole thing with Philo is that he saw meaning in coincidences! Same with Paul! They weren't just looking for coincidences! They were looking for MEANING! It would have MEANT something to Philo what the character's name in that verse was! He called him the angel of many names! I'm not psychologizing! I'm using the logic of metaphor! Yes! It is a kind of LOGIC, you Philistines!

I don't blame Carrier for calling you liars! You seem to be misunderstanding him on purpose! You're fucking clowns! You have to take into account the negative space! You have to use positive sum Hegelian logic! And then you accuse HIM of misunderstanding other scholars! 🙄🙄🙄

There was no historic Jesus. He was created by Arius Calpurnius Piso, whose pen name was Flavius Josephus. They wrote the new testament. The youngest son, Julius, wrote the book of Revelation to expose. He was the black sheep of the family. He inserted Satan and created the Judas character. Ignore these words at your own peril. It is the absolute truth.

@ 20:11 minutes in the Subtle Manipulation section, I found the say "Like a lion they pierce may hands and my feet" (Psalms 22:16). As I was reading The Odyssey by Homer, I came across many segments where Odysseus was compared to a lion. Multiple times I would read phrases that would read "Like a lion...." . I noticed this literary comparison present in the Greek Epics makes an appearance in the Hebrew Bible. Occasions like this really makes you think one reflect on Dr. Dennis R. MacDonald's work.

The passage he quotes in Luke “they shall be as the angels” Tabor again is assuming as the church that it’s promoting a celibate afterlife. In the Hebraic context it means is they shall no longer die prematurely and be obedient towards God as the angels. Eme her men are made above the angels.

Acts 12 James Killed and Peter Imprisoned 12 About that time Herod the king laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church. 2 He killed James the brother of John with the sword, 3 and when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. This was during the days of Unleavened Bread. 4 And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people. 5 So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church. Here what it says really: James Killed and Peter Imprisoned (because Peter instigated stoning and clubbing of James). 12About that time Herod the king laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church. 2 He killed John (the Baptist) with the sword, mob killed James years later, 3Because it was crime Peter was arrested on suspicion. 4 And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people. 5 So Peter was kept in prison, but he got lucky and got out.

No, we are not talking about James, the brother of John. Read Acts 21:18-35. We are talking about another James, James the Righteous, the brother and successor of Jesus.

@@alexandaryu Well, if you did not get it yet, Mark is not an "evangelist". He is specialist of psychological warfare from the security services of the sect of John the Baptist. When Mark talks about John and James it is John the Baptist and James the (just) righteous -ROFL, monitoring performing "ministry"/circus of Jesus. They not real brothers... Writer of acts continuing the tune, pretending that there separate James, brother of John. It is the same James. Paul convinced Peter to incite riot and have James killed. Peter got arrested for that but got out eventually. Curiously, the real details of high security Herodian prison that were used on John the Baptist because he was a real dangerous troublemaker got textually transferred to Peter, who was just opportunist and a thug. Paul had the money all the way, but James did not want to play Paul's game because he was afraid of Jews in Jerusalem. Paul did not care about Jews single bit, and Peter sided with him and took over the sect in Jerusalem.

@@alexandaryu It is Mark's literary invention. There is no separate James, brother of John. When Mark talks about John and James he is talking about John the Baptist and James the Just supervising performing ministry of Jesus in person. Paul convinced Peter to incite riot and had James killed. Peter was arrested for that. Paul did not participate it in person, just by proxy.

And I will also have to go download greek pottery that has chicks and snakes on them and Odessyeus's and Agememnon's men on them. What about the snake eating into Paul's arm at the end of the last shipwreck that has absolutely no effect on him?. He is just walking around, macho Paul, on that island and everyone is amazed. Then he goes to Rome and they cut his head off--wait a minute. That is not in Acts. Dennis is a really groovy guy. Had no idea that Papius hypothesized a Q document way back when

Well Jacob , I'm glad to see that you used the uncorrupted version of 1st Clement BUT maybe it's not so authentic either ? Ifn the Clementine Homilies and the Recognitions of Clement , Peter is going up against "Simon Magus" (Paul) and Clement was a witness to the dialogue/debates that Peter had with "Simon Magus" (Paul) , so he , Clement , would have known that he taught contrary to Peter and wouldn't have been considered "righteous" , yet in both versions of 1st Clement he portrays him as being "righteous" , is the Clement of the Clementine literature really the same Clement that wrote 1st Clement or were both versions of 1st Clement tampered with ?

I take it that there is a kernel of history in the Exodus tale. The actual word Exodus might be equated with the word Expulsion. The 18th dynasty expelled the Hyksos. I think that event may well have been drawn in to give the Exodus account a taste of genuine history. The Egyptians originally being ‘enslaved’ by the Hyksos and (Ah)Mose [pharaoh] being the Egyptian’s saviour figure.

The "Christianity" she's talking about that grew exponentially and rapidly was not the real pre-AD70 Christianity, which was an Israelite doomsday prepper cult. Like all historians, they believe that Christianity is one unbroken linear progression that began in AD33 and morphed into a non-Israelites group that spread all over the world. The truth is, genuine Christianity was pre-AD70 Christianity, an exclusively Israelite cult. Their story ended in AD70. The Christianity that followed was a Greek, faux version of Christianity that began as the Israelite Christians were fading into obscurity after their story had ended. Ever wonder why there are no Hebrew 'church fathers?' Ever wonder why there are no written records of debates or dialogues between the last Hebrew bishop in Jerusalem and the succeeding Greek bishop? Because there was an effort to obscure Israel's exclusive role in the gospel mission and the fact that the judgement and 'the end' had already happened in AD70. Because the Greek pretenders knew they were misappropriating bits and pieces of ancient Israel's redemptive narrative, creating a faux version of Christianity that endures today in various forms.

I am the walrus is referencing a conspiracy theory which proposes Paul McCartney died in the 60's in a car accident and was replaced by a Paul lookalike, I believe the Walrus reference in the song is because (according to the conspiracy) Paul's body was supposed to have been identified by one of his band mates after the accident and was described by them as looking like a walrus..... This was later put in a Beatles song , their songs and album covers post the switch are supposed to be filled with clues and hints alluring to the secret of the alleged switch and cover up of Paul's death , I don't believe it's true but it's easy to find material on the subject on KZread etc (allegedly lol )
