In my opinion 1. Learn to take your time during duels 2. Learn when to go offensive and defensive, like if you’re getting attacked by multiple guys and one has bad armor, attack him so you can get some relief 3. Learn what playstyle you like and what weapons go well with it

I think these are really good thoughts on getting better at the game. Most people try to go too fast and then the combat punishes them. If you take it slow and follow the movements and sort of position yourself and plan, combat becomes a breeze, but its patience for certain :D Nice little tips.

Absolutely! Honestly when I first played the game I thought drinking water was the most useless item in the game, but apparently now to me, drinking water is the best money multiplier in the game. Essentially, this makes it possible for me to keep my Henry just hop up on multi-stack potions nearly 24/7 in the game. One of the most powerful things in the game.

If you're fine with using this kind of exploit, like the one to take the stolen tag off items, as a PC player you could just as well take a much more direct approach and use the console command to add the item you want straight to your inventory. Btw, I don't think you mentioned that you can refresh the 'freshly shorn' perk at any time by just having the same shave or haircut again, without changing style. Oh, and you can get Andrew's room for free, if your douchebag friends are being killed during that ludicrous quarry heist.

Oooo, I do like that "freshly shorn" perk bug. If I ever do a follow up video like this, ill credit you with that one. :) Also I am not certain if the console commands work on the vanilla version of the game unless you have the dev mod pack installed (?) [I never tried to do that with a console command]. Let me know if that is true. I think the trick still works for removing the stealing tag for all the Xbox and PS4/PS5 players so its still useful to know.

@@helicalgoose Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot, I probably had to add something at some point to make certain commands work (I remember having some 'cheat mod' installed which enables a lot of commands, maybe also that 'dev mod') but if I could manage to do that, anybody should be able to! Btw, why do you say bug? I don't really experience any with that perk, pretty sure that's how it's supposed to work ...for a change.

Ah, Henry picked herbs long enough to buy a sword and then started to beat up some cows. I think I got my Henry around level 4ish before I started to take on the most "basic" guard there. I actually got lucky that the guard had a brain fart and didn't want to parry a stab attack 20 times in a row ;)

the bow crosshair is definitely not cheating, its a dumb mechanic, no reason to be frustrated with it. I believe with the eye track might be worth playing without but without that? No way I gonna bother

I agree. The bow crosshair should be a toggle on/off feature in the menu, at least for the next game. Have it off by default if they want, but at least give us the option to play the game how we want.

(on pc) I Can’t Make my game not to drop fps. it’s sad that the mission Baptism of Fire was unplayable for me. I don’t know what to do about it, I hope the next game will be more playable on my system and my system should be able too play it. So if you have any ideas on fixing it I would love your help

Ah sorry I was on vacation recently, there are a couple things you should try. Baptism of Fire is crazy on the system specs and on my old gaming laptop I had to pray multiple times for it to work and not crash. Try these things in order of desperation. -Set your graphics to the lowest possible. Like everything. -Turn off the computer and let it chill to the coldest it can get. (Like maybe 20 minutes at least) and then turn on and immediately try to play the mission. -Reduce the # of soldiers you get from Sir Radzig. You may have to go to an earlier save and ask for fewer soldiers saying there are not that many around. This could be adding lag. And just constantly keep trying to redo the mission over and over again until one time it punches it through. I know it took me 3-4 times before I get that one lucky load. Best of luck, I hope you're able to punch through. :D

Yah, let me know if it works for you. If these tips do not work I got a few more ideas, but these are the tried and true ones that do not require much adjustments to your current game. Best of luck! The game sort of opens up a bit more after this mission so it should be good to see if fixed :D

@@helicalgoose I did complete the mission then I played it some time ago. Bye just get the ai to kill them all until my fps was playable but I still get a low fps in the game and weirdly enough when I try reducing the graphics it doesn’t affect the fps

Yah, its sort of odd like that, something with the optimization with the game is a big problem. What I want to say with that mission is just getting over that loading screen. Something happens, and I want to say anything to reduce any load off the computer might help out? I have no proof over that other than, that is how I got over that sort of mission and some luck. On my newer computer I haven't experience that same thing yet, which got me thinking that it has do something with the mission being poorly optimized for any computer. I am glad you were able to get past it! The only other mission that gives a similar problem is towards the end of the game, like final 1-2 missions so watch out and be ready for another Hail mary! But in my experience, that one is not as bad as attacking the village was.

Ah yah, this is the new look for my Henry, but it comes off the cumans, its like a leather brigantine or something. Its rather uncommon, but I only found it off those cuman archers if you get lucky.

Honestly, I think you're correct. The face helmet is cool, the metal shield is pretty good, the scale mail armor with the shoulder pads is nice. The leather brigantine is nice too. There is another set after you complete the "Masquerade" quest with Fritz and Matthew that is pretty unique for the armor set with all the feathers, but as common set pieces the cumans really do have the more fun armor sets. While the normal armor sets are more flashy and shiny, the cumans are more detailed.

They changed something. Since now you keep getting chased by cumans on foot. No matter where you go. But i did make it to talmberg. Skipping the dumb horse chase. Since i also have all the negative perks i kept bleeding to death before even reaching halfway

Hmmm, they haven't patched anything to the game other than the speech packs. I done this same trick again in my most recent play through. I am guessing you got a bleeding effect somewhere with the negative perk which is unfortunate. I would try again and see where the bleeding comes from. You shouldn't have any bleeding unless you try to activate that chase scene. Let me know if its still giving you trouble.

@@helicalgoose bleeding came from being shot by the cumans the second my horse ran out of breath and it stopped sprinting. Did it about 5 times. Got shot and bled out before reaching talmberg. So i had to find ur vids cause i remembered you skipping that part. But ive never seen them chase you around. But for me the cumans chased me all the way to talmberg. But then on foot. I kept jumping over bushes to widen the gap between us. Finally found a horse i could steal with no issues and rode into the cutscene where you arrive at talmberg.

No mods. The outfit is the Charlatan's robe, before you do the Hans Capon DLC. Just knock him out and steal it ;)

Ah many thanks! This is one of the few hooded items in the game. There is another one for the monastery robes (its black). But honestly, it doesn't have the fun feathers or another attachments like the Charlatan's robe, so its not as fun to wear. But other than that, I think those are the only two pieces of clothing that have a hood effect.

@@helicalgooseone thing I found out from another KZreadr was if you picked nettle with Henry’s hands for a long period of time you get a hidden perk called immunity or something. And you’d get a permanent plus 2 to vitality. I probably picked like 30-50 nettle plants and I got the perk. It doesn’t tell you either you have to check your perks.

Ah, absolutely. That is one of those perks that everyone should go for especially at the start of the game since Nettle is everywhere in Skaltiz, and you need the money to buy other things, so its just normal to get the nettle, get the perk and all live it big. I want to say there are two more hidden perks in the game. I know one is the Cuman killer, but there is another, but I can't think of it at the moment, but they're fun to see in your menu/stats all of sudden. :P

They might try and put a timer on it. Say if you consistently pick nettle for 5-10 in game days the perk is unlocked. Who knows. Easy hidden perks available at the start is such a great way of starting off the game.

Haha possibly, WH does has a little troll in them at times! But from what their interviews, it seems they are aiming to make the next game a bit more player friendly. Not certain what that means, but maybe making the start of the game not so brutal like this one, well at least for first time players :P So I think that Nettle picking and easy hidden peaks will remain or even more will show up!

Charlatan's robe (Got to knock him out and steal his clothes) with a plate mail armor of your choice. The arms and legs only. The chest piece covers over the robe, so its a dangerous set of gear to wear. You can wear the chain mail neck or not, both look good ;)

Ah sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation, but to be honest, I have not figured out a way to actually get back inside Skalitz, or not an easy way. The biggest problem is that fast travel is disabled and all the random encounters are turned off and time is at a stand still. Meaning, that you can't pass time to get merchants to refund their money and do a bunch of other things. This is important in terms of abusing a few bugs in the game to slip through objects. For right now, there is not a way back into that place, not in the normal vanilla mode, but someday ill find it!

*Potions are good, start making them. -apply potions to GARLIC so you can consume as much of them as you want while having NO WEIGHT in your inventory. (i carry like 10-30 of each potion applied to garlic with me at all times. *Have your dog on search mode always. (if you have the dlc with the dog). *Dont do the quest for destroying bandit camps UNTIL you did all theft quests and any quests where you hang out with beggars, or hunt illegaly, those will lowers you reputation with guards. You can later improve it with the camp quests. *pickpocket EVERYBODY'S keys, makes breaking in easier later. *warhorse gear is good, (not always the best) and its super cheap to repair.

Over 700 hours into the game and I had no idea about that Garlic thing. So that's what it's for! It always felt a bit odd, but this explains it. I'm guessing honey can also be used then, and there might have been some other items as well... just thinking out loud here sorry. The devs really thought of everything, this game is full of stuff like this, I love it

@@boogiesmell5181 Honey weight is 0.8. Neutrishion is 2.5. I carry like 3-5 honey with me. with the stamina potion. For potions i use garlic since it reduces netrishion allowing you to eat even when at 100. And garlic has 0 weight.

I mean these devs hid the chickens in plain sight for most of the way, but only showed them for 1 or 2 frames, just impossible sometimes.

If not, try looking up the command on another site and see if the text is correctly input, if one thing is off it just wouldn't work. I know I typed the command wrong a few times in just the last month and I use it nearly all the time. Let me know if you're still having trouble with it and I can see what could be causing that. The arrow dot is quite useful so this is important.

Here's an idea for a new challenge run: fail every quest in the game (that is actually failable). This means you have to start all optional quests and fail them. If the quest itself is not failable, or you need to complete it to unlock another quest, you must fail as many objectives as you can.

My Henry was training on cows so his stats were about 5ish at the time. Honestly I was a bit worried that I couldn't take him down, since Henry has no combos or parry strikes to speak of at this time. Mostly it comes down to luck that the guard was the "padded" guard and not chainmail/platemail. I want to say guard stats are adjusted based on what type of armor they're wearing, so we got lucky with this thinly armored guard/low stats :P

The brown armor is a simple Cuman chest plate. From what I have see its fairly uncommon since you can't buy, but have to get it off a mid level cuman, which can be tougher later in the game since most are carrying the metal version. Glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully there was some useful information in it all :D

I do love galloping downhill and jumping. Usually between the windmill and Talmburg. Gotta skip the bushes and why go around? But I was new to hardcore, and on my second jumping I was, "Why is the rim of my vision red?" To think that my horse took no fall damage but I did. How does that work? (But don't get me wrong, actual jumping downhill can jerk the air out of you. AIR.)

They must have patched a lot of this. Cows don't respawn for me or it takes a significant amount of time? Okay they respawned eventually but not just from running back and forth. Also all the items (meat) was still marked stolen when I ran back.

The cows do respawn a bit, I usually have to run to the other side of the village and back sometimes. If the cow corpses are gone, then that means the respawn is ready to go. Spin Henry in a 360 fashion and then the cows should start appearing. They do not like respawning with Henry watching lol But they have not patch this. I have recently done this in my "Kill everything" series too which was a few months ago :P

How long did you have to pick herbs in skalitz before you could kill a guard. Every time I fight the guards they’re invincible
Ah, Henry picked herbs long enough to buy a sword and then started to beat up some cows. I think I got my Henry around level 4ish before I started to take on the most "basic" guard there. I actually got lucky that the guard had a brain fart and didn't want to parry a stab attack 20 times in a row ;)
the bow crosshair is definitely not cheating, its a dumb mechanic, no reason to be frustrated with it. I believe with the eye track might be worth playing without but without that? No way I gonna bother
I agree. The bow crosshair should be a toggle on/off feature in the menu, at least for the next game. Have it off by default if they want, but at least give us the option to play the game how we want.

I really love that intro, I really need to do more of those sometimes. I think (not to spoil anything) I have a few more intros for the series of Hardcore Henry, but didn't do too many more because of the copyright strikes problems.
(on pc) I Can’t Make my game not to drop fps. it’s sad that the mission Baptism of Fire was unplayable for me. I don’t know what to do about it, I hope the next game will be more playable on my system and my system should be able too play it. So if you have any ideas on fixing it I would love your help
Ah sorry I was on vacation recently, there are a couple things you should try. Baptism of Fire is crazy on the system specs and on my old gaming laptop I had to pray multiple times for it to work and not crash. Try these things in order of desperation. -Set your graphics to the lowest possible. Like everything. -Turn off the computer and let it chill to the coldest it can get. (Like maybe 20 minutes at least) and then turn on and immediately try to play the mission. -Reduce the # of soldiers you get from Sir Radzig. You may have to go to an earlier save and ask for fewer soldiers saying there are not that many around. This could be adding lag. And just constantly keep trying to redo the mission over and over again until one time it punches it through. I know it took me 3-4 times before I get that one lucky load. Best of luck, I hope you're able to punch through. :D

Yah, let me know if it works for you. If these tips do not work I got a few more ideas, but these are the tried and true ones that do not require much adjustments to your current game. Best of luck! The game sort of opens up a bit more after this mission so it should be good to see if fixed :D
@@helicalgoose I did complete the mission then I played it some time ago. Bye just get the ai to kill them all until my fps was playable but I still get a low fps in the game and weirdly enough when I try reducing the graphics it doesn’t affect the fps
Yah, its sort of odd like that, something with the optimization with the game is a big problem. What I want to say with that mission is just getting over that loading screen. Something happens, and I want to say anything to reduce any load off the computer might help out? I have no proof over that other than, that is how I got over that sort of mission and some luck. On my newer computer I haven't experience that same thing yet, which got me thinking that it has do something with the mission being poorly optimized for any computer. I am glad you were able to get past it! The only other mission that gives a similar problem is towards the end of the game, like final 1-2 missions so watch out and be ready for another Hail mary! But in my experience, that one is not as bad as attacking the village was.

Ah yah, this is the new look for my Henry, but it comes off the cumans, its like a leather brigantine or something. Its rather uncommon, but I only found it off those cuman archers if you get lucky.

Honestly, I think you're correct. The face helmet is cool, the metal shield is pretty good, the scale mail armor with the shoulder pads is nice. The leather brigantine is nice too. There is another set after you complete the "Masquerade" quest with Fritz and Matthew that is pretty unique for the armor set with all the feathers, but as common set pieces the cumans really do have the more fun armor sets. While the normal armor sets are more flashy and shiny, the cumans are more detailed.

They changed something. Since now you keep getting chased by cumans on foot. No matter where you go. But i did make it to talmberg. Skipping the dumb horse chase. Since i also have all the negative perks i kept bleeding to death before even reaching halfway
Hmmm, they haven't patched anything to the game other than the speech packs. I done this same trick again in my most recent play through. I am guessing you got a bleeding effect somewhere with the negative perk which is unfortunate. I would try again and see where the bleeding comes from. You shouldn't have any bleeding unless you try to activate that chase scene. Let me know if its still giving you trouble.
@@helicalgoose bleeding came from being shot by the cumans the second my horse ran out of breath and it stopped sprinting. Did it about 5 times. Got shot and bled out before reaching talmberg. So i had to find ur vids cause i remembered you skipping that part. But ive never seen them chase you around. But for me the cumans chased me all the way to talmberg. But then on foot. I kept jumping over bushes to widen the gap between us. Finally found a horse i could steal with no issues and rode into the cutscene where you arrive at talmberg.

No mods. The outfit is the Charlatan's robe, before you do the Hans Capon DLC. Just knock him out and steal it ;)

Ah many thanks! This is one of the few hooded items in the game. There is another one for the monastery robes (its black). But honestly, it doesn't have the fun feathers or another attachments like the Charlatan's robe, so its not as fun to wear. But other than that, I think those are the only two pieces of clothing that have a hood effect.

Not without a mod. You can sort of...displace Sir Radzig, but that sort of breaks the game, sort of...well not really since he gets teleported around quite a bit.

@@helicalgooseone thing I found out from another KZreadr was if you picked nettle with Henry’s hands for a long period of time you get a hidden perk called immunity or something. And you’d get a permanent plus 2 to vitality. I probably picked like 30-50 nettle plants and I got the perk. It doesn’t tell you either you have to check your perks.
Ah, absolutely. That is one of those perks that everyone should go for especially at the start of the game since Nettle is everywhere in Skaltiz, and you need the money to buy other things, so its just normal to get the nettle, get the perk and all live it big. I want to say there are two more hidden perks in the game. I know one is the Cuman killer, but there is another, but I can't think of it at the moment, but they're fun to see in your menu/stats all of sudden. :P
@@helicalgoose I wonder if WH will troll us and remove it for the KCD2 😂 it’ll definitely be one of the first things I try and grab at the start of the next game. They might try and put a timer on it. Say if you consistently pick nettle for 5-10 in game days the perk is unlocked. Who knows. Easy hidden perks available at the start is such a great way of starting off the game.
Haha possibly, WH does has a little troll in them at times! But from what their interviews, it seems they are aiming to make the next game a bit more player friendly. Not certain what that means, but maybe making the start of the game not so brutal like this one, well at least for first time players :P So I think that Nettle picking and easy hidden peaks will remain or even more will show up!

Charlatan's robe (Got to knock him out and steal his clothes) with a plate mail armor of your choice. The arms and legs only. The chest piece covers over the robe, so its a dangerous set of gear to wear. You can wear the chain mail neck or not, both look good ;)

Ah sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation, but to be honest, I have not figured out a way to actually get back inside Skalitz, or not an easy way. The biggest problem is that fast travel is disabled and all the random encounters are turned off and time is at a stand still. Meaning, that you can't pass time to get merchants to refund their money and do a bunch of other things. This is important in terms of abusing a few bugs in the game to slip through objects. For right now, there is not a way back into that place, not in the normal vanilla mode, but someday ill find it!
*Potions are good, start making them. -apply potions to GARLIC so you can consume as much of them as you want while having NO WEIGHT in your inventory. (i carry like 10-30 of each potion applied to garlic with me at all times. *Have your dog on search mode always. (if you have the dlc with the dog). *Dont do the quest for destroying bandit camps UNTIL you did all theft quests and any quests where you hang out with beggars, or hunt illegaly, those will lowers you reputation with guards. You can later improve it with the camp quests. *pickpocket EVERYBODY'S keys, makes breaking in easier later. *warhorse gear is good, (not always the best) and its super cheap to repair.
Over 700 hours into the game and I had no idea about that Garlic thing. So that's what it's for! It always felt a bit odd, but this explains it. I'm guessing honey can also be used then, and there might have been some other items as well... just thinking out loud here sorry. The devs really thought of everything, this game is full of stuff like this, I love it
@@boogiesmell5181 Honey weight is 0.8. Neutrishion is 2.5. I carry like 3-5 honey with me. with the stamina potion. For potions i use garlic since it reduces netrishion allowing you to eat even when at 100. And garlic has 0 weight.
@@stanisawzokiewski3308 No additional weight is great but sadly garlic doesn't have the advantage of multiplying your potions by 5, only water can do that.

Ah sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation, but that had to be crazy to see where you didn't see the chicken before pausing and now there is a chicken all of a sudden. I mean these devs hid the chickens in plain sight for most of the way, but only showed them for 1 or 2 frames, just impossible sometimes.

Really, the game is a montage/cinematic meme dreamscape if took enough time to explore all the choices. However, I have a real job and I still haven't seen everything in the 1st act of the game. Ah sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation, but try it again, that should work out for the command. If not, try looking up the command on another site and see if the text is correctly input, if one thing is off it just wouldn't work. I know I typed the command wrong a few times in just the last month and I use it nearly all the time. Let me know if you're still having trouble with it and I can see what could be causing that. The arrow dot is quite useful so this is important.
Here's an idea for a new challenge run: fail every quest in the game (that is actually failable). This means you have to start all optional quests and fail them. If the quest itself is not failable, or you need to complete it to unlock another quest, you must fail as many objectives as you can.

Actually, I do not think I shown off all the outcomes. Its a surprisingly detailed quest, but sadly doing this quest gives no rep or no payout. Which is strange for being a multi branched quest. :P
3:30 how the hell did you defeat that guard in armed combat?
My Henry was training on cows so his stats were about 5ish at the time. Honestly I was a bit worried that I couldn't take him down, since Henry has no combos or parry strikes to speak of at this time. Mostly it comes down to luck that the guard was the "padded" guard and not chainmail/platemail. I want to say guard stats are adjusted based on what type of armor they're wearing, so we got lucky with this thinly armored guard/low stats :P

The brown armor is a simple Cuman chest plate. From what I have see its fairly uncommon since you can't buy, but have to get it off a mid level cuman, which can be tougher later in the game since most are carrying the metal version. Glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully there was some useful information in it all :D

Captain Bernard is always killing people and then being disappointed that he can't make them answer questions. Sir, do it the other way around if it upsets you so much. But it's so hard for him to hold back his constant rage.
I do love galloping downhill and jumping. Usually between the windmill and Talmburg. Gotta skip the bushes and why go around? But I was new to hardcore, and on my second jumping I was, "Why is the rim of my vision red?" To think that my horse took no fall damage but I did. How does that work? (But don't get me wrong, actual jumping downhill can jerk the air out of you. AIR.)
They must have patched a lot of this. Cows don't respawn for me or it takes a significant amount of time? Okay they respawned eventually but not just from running back and forth. Also all the items (meat) was still marked stolen when I ran back.
The cows do respawn a bit, I usually have to run to the other side of the village and back sometimes. If the cow corpses are gone, then that means the respawn is ready to go. Spin Henry in a 360 fashion and then the cows should start appearing. They do not like respawning with Henry watching lol But they have not patch this. I have recently done this in my "Kill everything" series too which was a few months ago :P
