Hi Nat, personally when I've lapped the valve seats I used a suction cup tool on the valve head with cutting paste & between palms just spun it round. The drill option concerns me because the last thing you'd want to do is increase the concentricity of the valve guide with the weight of the drill & cutting paste remnants. Time old fashioned process. However, it's your machine. Cheers for the uploads

Back in the 70s when i was 10 i got a job serving petrol (remember them days) at a garage, the mechanics would bring me the monotonous jobs to do between serving customers, one being valve lapping, I just wonder how many hundreds if not thousands of valves I lapped in those 6 years I worked there. Now i have a bit of kit that I use in a pillar drill to lap valves for me 😂

Hi Nat, I think the decals are one of the most difficult to get perfect on the superdream - especially on the tank. I owned a couple of these bikes when they came out - (the first CB250N, and the later CB250NB Deluxe - my brother also had a CB250NA) I see many refurnbs where the Tank stickers in particular are often placed not quite correctly - unfortunately my eye is drawn to it immediately. The original decals were placed so that the decal and "Honda" is more horizontal than at a slope. I think someone should make a template to help position the Tank decals because it is clearly very difficult. I did find a forum (Ultimate Superdream Forum) where someone had done some very careful measurements to assist accurate placement for the tank decals. The Superdream came with mainly 2 different Tank and seat styles. Your model is based on the original CB250N or CB250NA. The seat decals you originally chose (the skinny tick) are the correct style for your seat cowl. I believe the larger flared decals are for the later CB250NB models which has a larger flared seat cowl (similar to a number of the largers hondas of the time such as the CB900F). It would seem that the decal set is meant to cover both the CB250NA and the later CB250NB models. The Tank on the later CB250NB had "knee scoops" in the tank so its a surprise that the Tank decals for both of these models would be exactly the same? I''m not critising as I'm sure this process is very difficult. I also wonder if the aftermarket decal shape may drive the placement when trying to get them flat?

We all contribute to the conditions on the road. At 5:30 you're accelerating aggresively towards what is quite obviously a dangerous situation with plenty people on the road, not just the cyclist, only to slow down to a crawl and stop at another red light right after. Had you instead accelerated more moderately the road would have cleared up, you wouldn't have had to hit the brakes, no road rage, and you still would have made it in time to stop at the next red light. While you by all means could argue that a busy city center is no place for a peloton, it certainly isn't a place for riding aggressively on a motorbike either. Just because the green light says go doesn't mean you can switch off your brain and go full speed.

A good job with cleaning up the cases, but I would still suggest you remove the conrods from the crank so you can clean the parts and inspect the bearings - it only takes a few bits of grit to bugger up the bearing surfaces. Some of what you have washed off is bound to have ended up in the crankshaft oilways, and you can't clean those out thoroughly if the rods are still fitted. A bare crank, a good flush through with clean diesel/paraffin/degreaser and a good blow through with compressed air is the only way to be sure.

Those oil filter bolts where a common problem on a lot of 70/80s Hondas. The hex head was too small and combined with the fact most owners didn't use a torque wrench (we just did everything up FT) led to the heads stripping before the bolt yielded. There were after market ones around at the time that had a bigger hex head, 17mm if memory serves. Dont know if they are still available?

As a motorist, a motorcyclist, and a cyclist for more years than you have been on this planet, (I'm aged 87) it's sad to see such poor riding skills once again. Having just stated earlier in the video that cyclists have not got the necessary power to get out of trouble quickly, you then accelerate quite hard at a cyclist that (if you had not been making a video, and trying to ride a bike) you should have seen way before you did, and taken the appropriate action, like taking it easy until your path was clear. I'm still driving, riding, (both cycles and motorbikes) having had no accidents, and a clean licence. Perhaps you should concentrate on just riding the bike, as you would appear to lack the necessary skills to multitask.

if you are riding your ridiculously loud motorcycle through the city, you are the problem. you are the one making the city worse for everyone else. Bikes are the most efficient way of transport, cars and motorcycles don't stand a chance. Yet we have designed our cities for cars making it difficult and dangerous to ride bikes. I can see how it would be annoying to some other roadusers to see cyclists breaking road rules to make their trip faster. But people who find that irritating are usually unaware of their own privelege on the road. People in cars and on motorcycles also statistically break the law more often. it's just so normalized that people rarely notice. But when you are on a bike you do. poeple driving and parking in bike lanes. driving too far forward on red lights blocking the space for cyclists. passing cyclists too closely. Those are just some of the things cyclists regularily experience and rarely get punished.
