Kinda needs to be done. And I have another work space now too!

Had a word with a good friend....he said they were known for the clutch rattling loose...and they use to locktite the nut in place. Also the choke on the carb is only on one side of the carb...could be stuck and flooding. Might help get it running and get a few more pennies. Nice use of down time 👍. Looking forward to your new purchase. Ride safe Nat.

Actually I haven't tried starting with the clutch in. Might tighten it up a bit.

Hiya Nat I sat on a Kawasaki ER6 with the fairing on the other day (I'm looking for something to replace "Ellie" the eliminator) so I'm looking for something lighter than my old bandit gsf600 ihad and also modern ABS etc ....I could flat foot the ER6 and it seemed quite light ....you're a seasoned biker and I'm not, I've only got back into bikes late in life I'm 60 now so need a bit of comfort for my old knees ....it was a 2015 ER6 ....would you rate them as good bikes ?sorry for the epitaph 😜

I am no expert either but I think it broadly depends on your own height and what you will use the bike for. The ER6 is a little small for me but fine for an hour or so. It is great for busy city and town riding with more than enough low end to make country roads great fun. I am not sure I would want to sit on a motorway for too long though.
