Lets hope so.

If you know of anybody close to you with a parts washer take it all and zap it, you could use light! Media balls for the cases, but failing that, do the diy way some sort of container, and use petrol or diesel, then use an air line to blow it off 😂 coming along nat, good job 👍💯

Pure neglect ! I pulled my Honda 500 single four stroke down at about 50000kms ( low comp). I changed the oil every 3000 miles ( motorcycle oil ) Was in lovely condition Just a rering hone and valve job and good as new

Yeah diesel is a good call for cleaning & degreasing in a big kitchen bowl, don't use solvants,bad idea..Ian.👍

As the oil filter was so tight my guess is that engine hasn't had an oil change for years and the resulting detritus is what happens with old oil as it breaks down and get contaminated

I think that you might be right mate

Don't use solvent for cleaning the gears unless you really have to, use diesel as it won't strip out any lubricant from any bushes on the shafts. Fairy liquid and boiling water for the cases.

Can you get kerosene in the UK Nat? Big tub, stiffish brush, 4 ltr bottle kerosene, clean. Keeps parts oiled & clean
