    Ok Nat,Get yourself a set of Irwin's bolt extractors from 8mm to 17mm if possible,there brilliant for removing rounded off nuts& bolts..tap them on with a copper mallet and use a ratchet to undo they will come in handy for further projects..Ian..👍🏍️

    You can use them on Allen bolt heads aswell,if the hex is rounded internally,knock a tight Irwin's on,very versatile tool& replaceable if u break one..Ian.

    All hail varifocals, once you're used to them, I'm sure you'll love em. So much better than pissing about with glasses on for measure, glasses off for cut etc......

    Weld a nut on, more than likely it's the section that interfaces with the casing that's stopping it and just needs a little more oomph to get it moving.

    @@NatsNackersYard get a nut that will fit over the existing and fill it with weld. Only needs to work once.

    What about cutting the very top of the oil filter bolt off?Would that allow the filter housing and filter to come off?Then remove the rest,hopefully,when you have a bit more access.All the best.

    Might be worth getting the stator windings checked whilst it's off .the ignition coil on the stator failed on mine whilst taking it for an MOT so it was a long push back home. Did you mask up the filler neck on the tank before spraying. When I sprayed mine the over spray got in the tank and caused problems with pilot jet blocking on carbs .

    Hey! Not only am I also extremely old, and blaming it on "too much screen time" rather than the obvious "enormous number of orbits around the local star", but I also have, and am, an amazing tool! Impact drivers rock, where did you get your JIS bits? Delicate work pulling that stator. Nice.

    JIS bits were just an ebay purchase a while ago. Best money that I have spent.
