With that base colour you could get away with something along the lines of a red/orange tint or even a red/violet for the tank badges and pinstripes. Not sacrilege, your bike, paint it whatever colour you want.

Your bike so your choice, but I would have tried to restore it to the Honda black that was on there. Depends if you want to restore or customise.

Make it different, make it yours but it will scamble the heads of the " I want it perfect and original" - which is, of course impossible unless it's been kept in a glass case since it was made. I have been impressed with your previous paint jobs, so carry on. Maybe consider a contrast stripe to help that colour along.

Hey Nat, it certainly looks like an ‘80s colour scheme. Job done. Will you add the original pin stripes or just leave it raw? Will you add a clear coat over the raw paint? I think it looks cool!🤙 As long as your repairs are sound to last another couple of years, then, if you do move it on, then whoever wants to return it to original, the foundation is done right. Can’t wait to see the new frame in action!

you will certainly reduce your market when you come to flip it - most people into these bikes want original paint schemes. I've seen some custom solid colours but still using original style graphics, I particularly liked a solid white one I saw with original style blue graphics - tried to find it for you but couldn't. good luck with it, it'll look fab whatever you do

It is a CB250N super dreary these bikes were derided when new I am pretty sure they will never be called a classic,you can do what ever you want to the bike and get away with it.

@@NatsNackersYard Simple and cheap I hope the price of anything from that era appears to have gone silly. One word of caution the comstar wheels are not rebuildable so don’t take them apart.

You're not sleeping with me? You *are* my wife! And for that colour, I'm not sleeping with you either. Seriously, your bike, your choice, and it's not awful. I like that pearlescent effect, did it "whiten" the paint, or simply put the pearly bits over the top? I ask because /ahem/ a friend /ahem/ might want to repaint his VF500 and a pearl finish would be nice.
