As an IAM rider there are a couple of basic rules I use when filtering. 1.Dont filter any more than 10-15mph faster than the traffic you are filtering through. 2. If the traffic is moving at more than 30 mph you are not filtering you are overtaking/ undertaking. Tuck back into the traffic flow. Stay safe people.

Ahh filtering… watching you filter shows me cars tend to stick in a lane & stay there from what I’m seeing way ahead. Over here in convict land, totally different. A car will change lanes multiple times without even indicating way up ahead, right infront & right beside you. 2 semi trailer trucks trying to squeeze you. We can use bus lanes when there are no buses. Otherwise, it’s war zone. Cheers & thanks for sharing the super dream progress! What about a yellow colour? Would it go well with the decals? Are they stock decals or specials?

Maybe it's age, maybe it's the fact I don't live near a town or need to go through much traffic, but filtering scares the crap out of me these days. Bearing in mind that the only time I got points it was for filtering "a bit quick" - the plod (on a bike) picked me up at Hangar Lane, and I eventually saw the blue flashing light in my wing mirrors just before the Target roundabout. Heavy traffic, but fluid and moving pretty much at the speed limit. Apart from the twat on the FZR who was filtering at around 80mph, where the bars didn't fit between the mirrors it was either brake to dip 'em under, or dip the clutch to flip 'em over. I deserved my points. But I couldn't get 'em like that now. Hazard lights? Stupid idea. Nobody knows if they are hiding an actual indicator, and they drown your brake light in visual noise, especially if you're filtering like the tit on the scoot, it's an invitation to get arse-ended by a courier. And people riding with their feet down makes me cringe. Saw one today, bloke on an Indian doing maybe 50mph with his feet skimming the road.

Filtering is passing between lanes of standing traffic. Filtering past moving lanes is just overtaking on the inside and that is illegal. But yes I do it too sometimes. We wouldn't have to overtake if the bloody car drivers got a move on and didn't leave enough room for an invading army in front of them. Electric cars are very fast off the mark - like vehicular projectile vomiting. Putting your feet down raises the centre of gravity to your saddle and makes the bike less stable. Scooter riders do not put much weight on their feet . That is why the scooter is wobbling a bit.

Sorry mate but I think that you are wrong on two counts. Traffic doesn't need to be stationary for it to be filtering; it can be moving (albeit relatively slowly). Also, overtaking on the inside is not illegal as long as you are not speeding or weaving in and out of traffic.

Haha, well if I call it filtering then I get to wind people up in the comments. I just consider it claiming my right place of dominance at the front. Also I think that guy is what Beans on Toast would call a leg down Larry.
