    Hi, i'm from the Philippines, very humid all year round since we are a tropical country, do i leave it in an air-conditioned room? Or room temperature while fermenting, and how many days in an air-conditioned room or just at room temperature? Greatly appreciate your reply, thank you

  • @Leelalicious
    @Leelalicious3 күн бұрын

    Great questions. In tropical conditions I would leave it in an air conditioned room for fermentation. Like always the number of days depends on your taste preferences. Start giving it a taste after 2-3 days.

    Just tried it, wanted more so I doubled the ingredients. I found that it was a bit thick so I added more milk gradually to bring to the consistency needed before I added the egg yolk. I topped it with sesame seeds and nutritional yeast. Anyways, it was DELICIOUS!!!!!! Wow, so quick and taste so so good!!!

  • @Leelalicious
    @Leelalicious3 күн бұрын

    Sorry it didn't work out as expected. Other than the tips I already give in the video, sometimes the wrong type of cucumber will turn out mushy. Slicing cucumbers can turn too soft too quickly. I recommend using only kirby/pickling cucumbers for fermentation.

    What about adding an apple? Do you recommend? Someone mentioned doing that you add prebiotics so that results most richer but I’m not sure

  • @Leelalicious
    @Leelalicious3 күн бұрын

    Yes you can add a grated apple too. It will have a similar effect as the carrot. They kickstart the fermentation. The natural sugars will be more quickly available than from the cabbage alone. These will feed the lactobacilli from the get go

    Do you have to add the store bought Kambuchq? How can you make it without a store bought?

  • @Leelalicious
    @Leelalicious13 күн бұрын

    Kombucha is not a spontaneous fermentation (like sauerkraut). You need to introduce the be bacterial & yeast culture somehow. Either by buying a scoby or getting some from a friend. Or you can grow your own from store-bought kombucha.

    Valid points. I grew up with fresh minced garlic being added to each bowl, but I always skipped that. And I learned all Slavic/Russian recipes from my mom who may have already adapted them with her garden fresh herbs like basil once she moved to Germany and Canada.

    Unfortunately the best way to make coconut flour work for baking is by using eggs. Flax and chia egg substitute or psyllium husk are sometimes used but they all have denser results

  • @Leelalicious
    @Leelalicious3 күн бұрын

    That's a good idea for a next video. I use culinary tweezers to remove fruit that doesn't want to slide out. And if the inside seems to get stains I add rice and a little water to swish around. For really stubborn stains my mother-in-law showed me a trick of using a small piece of a mesh scrubber and gravel, pie weights or other heavy beads. Shake them all around in the bottle with a little water until it is clean

    I am glad you found the time that works best for you. In my experience the volume of rice doesn't change the cook time. 1 cup of rice takes the same amount of time as 4 cups. The type of rice and altitude levels play a bigger role at affecting the pressure cook time needed

  • @vinceestr
