Nice work Roberto. Always up for a challenge.
Thanks, Barb. I suppose so. Anything to keep it interesting and avoid stagnation. Or defeat!
Nice and so beautiful video once again
Thank you so much 😀 Slow-motion makes things look magical.
Excellent shots here! I first noticed the Darter with her catch near 1:01. .. It looks like a huge fish (do you know what kind?) caught and staring down its captor's throat! 😧🐟😅 So could the hungry Darter manage to win the struggle and gulp that whole prey down entirely okay?? The fish seems to be defensively flapping it’s tail about, if eaten, does the unlucky thing get swallowed alive all the way too?! It looks so big still, maybe this isn’t the last for the fish and it can somehow survive the encounter?
Thanks for commenting. :-) The fish is a goldfish (Carrassius auratus) and is swallowed whole by the darter. The fish is not large (c. 12cm). If the darter catches a larger one, it takes longer for the fish to be overpowered and swallowed, giving cormorants a chance to arrive and steal the fish. There's no time for the darter to waste!
Nice video with lovely footages.
Thanks for visiting and commenting. Appreciated.
Hey Rob, at 0:46 is that a feral goldfish being consumed ???
Yes, a Crucian Carp. They've been in the Macintyre since before I was born (I didn't do it!). Now they are fodder for Murray Cod in that part of the river (I helped) and the waterbirds.
What an awesome Natureel Rob. 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you, Barb.
Wonderful compilation Rob. Some splendid backlighting as well. Congratulations
Backlighting was the best part, Tom. I'll have another opportunity there next week.
Is that a fish hook in the bird's neck at 2:12mins? Great morning's worth of images Rob.
Yes, Denise. :-( Lake Inverell is going off at the moment.
Nicely captured n put together Rob..
Beautiful videos and still images. I enjoyed seeing what you saw.
Thank you for commenting, Denise. I'm having fun developing templates for doing these reels.
Another superb collection Rob.❤
Beautiful Rob. I love how the rain brings a different mood to the scene.
Thanks, Barb. Rain is forecast for tomorrow. If it's not too heavy, I'll go to Lake Cathie to see what's happening-then to coffee.
Pretty as...
Thanks, Wayne.
Well done
Very clever mate
With that many strikes by PF was there a nest near by ?

Thank very much, Gavin. All the best, mate.
Nice work mate 👍
Thank you, Wayne.
Creative edit 💪 What is your microphone of choice?
I've used a Zoom H2n for soundscape recording for about 15 years. Editing of .WAVs in Adobe Audition. I like the portability and versatility of the little Zoom. Sound quality is good.
Thanks so much, Woody. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :-)
Top effort Rob. Very impressive .it gives us all a very good feel for this classic little Aussie icon . Woody .
Looks good..
What a perfect way to launch your new chapter in photography and life. Love how you share your knowledge and weave in a great sense of humour. Cheers for the East Coast of Canada (Nova Scotia :)
Thanks so much, KelticSoul
Wow! I love your humour and editing skills. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Wow this is awesome Rob. How cool to enjoy your OM1 and lens. 👏
Thank you, Kim. Still loving it after almost two years of heavy use.
Looking forward to your adventures. Well done. Cheers
Thank you, Tony.
Sensational !!
My first serious camera was an OM1n. I still have it.
Wow, that was incredible to watch 😊
Thanks so much, Lena!
wishing you all the best and giving you all the support.
Great idea! Congratulations and continued good luck!
That little dance you did at 2:55, so relatable, yes sir! I have felt like that too when I got a photograph of a rare bird, or even just to have witnessed it with my eyes through the binoculars. Such excitement and happiness that's hard to explain to someone who hasn't gotten into bird/nature watching or wildlife photography yet. I can't wait to be over this current exam period to go out with my scopes and my (very cheap, very amateur) camera!
Thank you so much, Kha Ngo. I am so chuffed that you liked the celebratory dance (that I stole/emulated from a 'Father Ted' TV series episode). Hahaha. Got to have fun!
I see this but the big bird is a hawk vs. crows and mockingbirds.
The birds in this video are: Wedge-tailed Eagle (The largest eagle in Australia. We have no 'hawks' in Australia); Australian Hobby (a falcon); Pied Currawong.
Great video. I like your video editing skills it makes it compelling to watch.
Thanks very much. :-)
This is so awesome I appreciate your energy and look forward to your wisdom and creativity!!!! 👌🏽✨🙌🏽🌎
some of those bird shots with the rim lighting around the wings. Wow. beautiful.

Congratulations..
Thanks, Wayne. Here's to more fun in 2024.
Happy New Year!!!🎉
Enjoyed watching this video my friend Really awesome views Thank you Stay connected
Well captured Rob
Thank you, Lene.
Great movie Rob. I learn so much from your work. Those godwits must be the ultra marathon flyers of the bird world. I recall seeing avocets in the UK and wonder if their upper beak bends like the godwit.
Thanks, Geoff. Avocets' beaks are permanently upcurved.
Been working on my outdoor video hoping for these results. Headed to Goose Island Tx and Bosque next 45 days Gh5 G9 7D2 and all the lenses.
Wishing you success! :-)
Beautiful!
Thanks, Ormond.
