Hi Trevor, Some people did split them up and sold them separately around the time of release but haven’t seen many since! Stay well!
When I bought the Beatles stereo box that I also bought the mono box that as well and I’m so glad that I did. I listened to the Beatles music in the 1990s when I bought the Beatles albums when they were reissued on CD for the first time. The first album I bought was please please me I did not know that the first four albums weren’t in stereo I’ve heard the four albums please please me Beatles for sale a hard days night and with the Beatles those were released in mono, and the rest of the albums were in stereo that was very interesting. I had never heard of the stereo versions of the four Beatles albums from 1963 and 64 respectively. I love the stereo version of Beatles for sale it’s a great one and you can really hear the guitar intro clearly on I don’t wanna spoil the party and I love their music every album is different.
Hi Jesse, The Mono / Stereo editions are equally different listening experiences with each album but it’s generally down to the listener on which they prefer. Yes Beatles For sale does seem to sound much better in stereo. Stay well!
Beetle Dave I absolutely love the stereo box set it’s a fantastic one I bought it simultaneously when it came out a year after it came out in 2010 or so. there is something wonderful about all of the albums remastered and they sound fantastic still after it came out in 9909. it’s hard for me to pick which is my favorite Beatles album but if I had to pick one my number one will always be the white album simple because I love it it has so many different styles of music represented in one album I love the fact that it’s loaded as a double album they could’ve had a triple or quadruple album I would’ve bought that I don’t know if anyone else would.

i love this set purely for the beautiful mono mix of yesterday. i think it sounds just a tad better than the mix on the 2009 mono cd of help, but maybe im just biased

I bought a original Beatles reel to reel today cardboard box type on one side abbey road the other side hard days night in stereo I've not seen this before have you dave

Here in Argentina ⚽🇦🇷 "The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl" was released on June 22th 1977 on EMI 9159 catalog number Taked from the UK 🇬🇧 Pressing YEX969-YEX 970, same label than UK but with the titles songs translate in Spanish. I Love The Beatles and I Love that great album 💪👍

Hi Dave very interesting information on the different Hey Jude Albums. I have two different copies one of which is a white label Parlaphone Label, have you come across one of these before. Regards Colin
Hi Colin, Glad you enjoyed! I believe the white label Parlophone version came out at the same time as the final one in 1991, everything like the text design and cover should be exactly the same as the black label one. Thanks for watching!

Hey,Dave,the first two songs on Side One were not issued on lps prior to that,on Capitol in North America.Neither in mono or stereo,which is why they were included on the lp.They,of course were on the Parli HDN.

Go review, I've got quite a few copies too. I've also got a Russian version too. The front cover is of them standing infront of St. Pancras Church, taken on their Mad Day Out. With the same photo of the others on the back. The tracks are slightly different too. Can't recall where I brought it from. Pity we can't show photos on KZread

Hi, Dave. Hope all is well there. This is a wonderful set of Hey Jude albums all in incredible condition. The Sears copy was interesting to hear as we haven't had Sears here in decades.. It's hard to find this one at my usual record haunt, but now I know why. You have them all. Lol Just kidding of course. Quite a few with the original protective plastic. I only have 1 copy of this album, will have to check it to compare with your copies. However I did buy those 45s all in great condition. This album does have great pics of the guys from that time period. Take care and cheers.

Hi FBT, Yes sorry about that , so busy with work and things these days, gets crazy from time to time! No problem for the shout out! I see a lot of collectors like the German pressing but I must admit I haven’t heard that but I’m sure it’s on par with the U.K. pressing! I started being able to afford to buy records in the mid 70's when I reached my teens. I remember buying the US version of Help! and The Beatles Story from the import section of HMV, but when I saw Hey Jude I just thought "What the hell is this?" and didn't buy it. Even when it appeared as a UK release a few years later I was still slightly baffled by it and didn't buy it. There was no information highway in those days so it wasn't until I bought a detailed book on Beatles releases in the mid 80's that I found out the history of it. I only have two copies - the US Beatles Again and the UK 1980 pressing. The sleeve on your first UK pressing you showed there was dated June 1981. My 1980 pressing has a sleeve dated September 1982. My US Beatles Again copy I bought sealed earlier this year. I don't know if it was still factory sealed or had been resealed, but it was in pristine condition. It would be cool to think it had been traversing the planet for over 50 years and I was the first to play it. 😃
Hi, I think we are of a similar age by the sound of it, I started my Beatles collecting journey in 1979. That was certainly the trouble back then, if you needs any info there was little about , but I did start buying Record Collector in the early 1980’s aa well as the Beatles monthly , so information started to get easier. There’s no reason at all as to why your Beatles again isn’t an original sealed copy, if it looks right it more likely is! Thanks for watching and stay well!

Great video, Dave. Very bizarre track listing, to be sure, especially side one. I have a very nice copy of both the German and UK export albums. The laminated jackets are so much nicer (on all the Beatle albums), than the ones we got here in the colonies. My original copy has, what I think was a better title, of The Beatles Again on it.

Hey Dave. I remember the first (and, so far, only) copy of the Hey Jude album was either a pirate copy or a well played official copy - most of Side One sounded muffled.

Wow, those CPCS export copies were gorgeous! Sound quality wise, I hear those are the ones to get. Really nice collection, as usual. I only have the late 70's German apple version, which I hear sounds nearly as good as the UK export, but I still would like an actual early UK copy at some point. Anyway, thanks for sharing... Did the Beatles do revolver or st pepper in jewel case in stereo Dave I've got a few I've got white album and abbey road and I think this one a collection with the Beatles in stereo all in plastic cases all stereo thanks
Hi Tony, All the Beatles albums were indeed released in jewel cases in Stereo and also mono , I’m still looking for Revolver and Oldies in stereo to complete the set. The card board box type were only up to and including Sgt Pepper. Starting to get very hard to find and expensive! Stay well!

It's good to see a video based on this album without all the unfounded negativity that often goes with it. I have 15 copies from 10 different countries. Even though it wasn't really endorsed by The Beatles themselves it's still an official album released while the band were still together, so removing it from the catalogue is completely insane. The fact that it's been superseded by subsequent compilations shouldn't really matter in terms of its availability. Of course the sound could be better but the alleged poor quality is way overstated. My favourite copies are the Yugoslavia original mono with the title "Hits of Beatles" on the front and the Japanese 70's reissue with the lyric sheet and the picture on the back correctly orientated. They should have included it in the 2014 mono box using the remastered versions and maybe even sneaked a stereo copy in with the DeAgostini release. I added a 1976 stereo pressing to my BC13 box set from 1978 to match the rest of the box. I could go on all night, but suffice to say I love the album and it should be re-released - but I know it won't be. 😃

I’ve got a U.K. edition from the early 1980’s which has the missing “A collection of” text on the front cover , never seen another, will have to show that one day! I absolutely enjoy the mini documentary DVD in this set. Was this DVD an after thought and added to the collection once the initial first pressings of the boxset became exhausted? I did buy them all individually and found it a bit of a hassle having to put the disc into our computer to watch each individual documentary. So much better with them all on one DVD and as always Dave another excellent presentation.

And here,Dave,as think most rem.' s were released; there was also real cool sometimes,special ed.'s of- packed up couple those today . And, several great shape 'longboxes': Revolver,Maccas' Tug o War& Back to egg. Also, new in wrap ' Wings at Speed,8 track,& Let it Be,but used 8 cartridge,& a new Good Blue Oyster Cult,'Agents also. You ever liked any their rock,sound? 1st ever saw them, probly their first tour,69 or '70- in a large meeting room, here at our University. Hi Dave, hope you’re feeling better, some really interesting stuff, especially the reel to reels. Seeing the George RSD releases over your shoulder leads me to an ‘Ask Beatle Dave’ question. What are your top 3 RSD Beatles releases over the years and what would you love to see as a future RSD release? I may have said this before but I’d love to see a Yellow Submarine EP or A Collection of Oldies compilation release. Looking forward to seeing the Let it Be box, I picked one up a few years ago in fantastic condition in a collectors shop in West Wickham!!
Hi Marc, It did drag on a bit but much better thanks ! That’s a good question , so look out for that in a future video! I don’t know about you but I feel the RSD stuff only has exclusive coloured vinyl etc but not exclusive music , it’s basically the same material re-released. That’s the way it seems to be Beatles & related wise, not sure about other groups! I think either of those releases would be very well received! I wanted to show it but I feel because of the delicate nature it needs to be handled a little more carefully and it sounds like we both got very lucky ! Stay well!
