When I managed Colony Records in NYC, I became friends with Apple Recording Artist Doris Troy. I even went to see her Off Broadway play entitled "Mama. I want to Sing". This show was performed in Harlem, NYC. One day she called me looking for the sheet music for the song "Ain't That Cute". She was asked to perform it at The BeatleFest in New Jersey. The sheet music was unavailable, so I told her that I would call her when I get home, and dictate the lyrics to her right off of playing the record. I got every word to her over the phone. She was very Thankful.

Glad you enjoyed, It’s an which is very interesting and very different to the normal apple releases , but clearly Ringo had a soft spot for the album to reissue on his own Ring o’ records label! Glad I got there early and certainly scored well, eventually caught up on my sleep! lol Stay well my friend!

Hello Dave ! Hands down, that first Apple label is my favorite ! It seems to make everything with that label sound better to me---The mark of quality ! Great video and great haul for Record Store Day--You have more energy than me--I could never pull an all nighter and morning too !!😅See you next week !

Hi Nick, Yes definitely a real thing of beauty that label from that period! You’ve certainly got to get up early to get those record store goodies and I still didn’t go to bed until 9pm that night ! I feel much more human today! Thanks for watching, stay well!

Apple records never stops surprising me. Such a wide variety of styles. Hope you were able to get proper rest after RSD. Thanks for the shout out, BTW!

Hi Marc, That’s the great thing about the Apple Records label , it was so different, diverse and in sone ways just bizarre! I believe Ringo liked the whale that much and wanted it rereleased on his label ! Thanks for Watching, Stay well!

Hi Dave. I had the pleasure of seeing John Taverner perform at a Church uptown in New York City on Park Avenue in the 90's. At that time, I would always go to see any Apple recording artists performing in NYC like Ravi Shankar, Badfinger Members, Billy Preston, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, James Taylor, Yoko Ono, My good friend David Peel, and even George Harrison when he played the Bob Dylan show at Madison Square Garden. I also went to a Buddy Holly Birthday show given by Paul McCartney. Paul performed Rave On with The Crickets. My late brother Larry went to George Harrison's Concert For Bangla Desh at Madison Square Garden, The George Harrison 74 Dark Horse Tour at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York and he went to John Lennon's One to One Concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

You know I don't know that much about this one lol. So I did enjoy all of your info on this Album. All of the ones that you showed were just great looking. I do have a US 1970 Pressing and mine is in just stone mint :). It is a bit different yes, but it is a part of the Apple Family :)!!! I do like the new one with the different cover. I might what to get this one? I did enjoy this video and well-done Dave!!!

Hi Dave, I hope you're well and didn't get too much of a shock with the alert the government sent out. It made me jump. I've never heard of this guy before. It's like most labels have different acts on there. Just under £10 was a good price for records back then. There's a guy having a rant about the price of Beatles records at HMV. It was very interesting. Take care and see on the next one. 🙂

Hi Sarah, I know lots of people who didn’t get the alert and I was driving home from IKEA Southampton when it happened! John Taverner was a very famous composer within his own type of music but with Apple Records, they seemed to have every style on the label! Yes if only vinyl was still £10 an album, has got ridiculous! Have a great week!
