Great video, Dave. Living down the road from Bournemouth and supporting AFCB, I’m often there. You’re right though the whole town centre is in decline with the growth of online shopping and out of town shopping centres nearby. So many iconic buildings are being lost. Hopefully the local council will see sense and ensure the old Gaumont theatre is sold on condition it is refurbished and saved for posterity. Nick Churchill’s book ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah, The Beatles in Bournemouth is a great read for anyone interested and has some great photos. Get yourself up here to Liverpool this weekend, International Beatleweek is on, you would get some great videos of bands and artists from all over the world, paying there own tribute to these legends. Hi Bigbear, That can’t be your real name ! Lol I’m about 6 miles away from the city centre and like you have seen a rapid decline around Poole & Bournemouth with the BCP council preferring to concentrate on many cycle lanes instead it seems! That’s a great book which I’ve got, packed with much more information inside than I could get into 20 minutes! This will be my 39th convention this year , so I’m an old hand at these BeatleWeeks , mind you when I first started coming to Liverpool , the convention was just over the weekend! I’ve got some Liverpool visits on the channel from the last couple of years! Might see you about! Stay well!

Howdy Beatle Dave- another road trip video,how cool! And,with surprising history,4 sure. So,what some of us here,TN.,knew as Odeon were actually the Gaumsnt before that,& even an original named theatre to start,wow. Myself& many others have albums from other bands,live there.. Knew 'the lads played there some, but not that much. And,the Winter Gardens - know we've heard o' that one. Hmmm.,Bournmouth; I say must be an interesting town! Also, the seaside cottage, for Mimi& John- wow- don't recall anything 'bout that; but how Uber Kool, absolutely - Thanx for sharin' that. And man, how great it would have been to see them there in one of the last shows,late'64& that setlist,dang. Did u say Ringo's solo was '97- had to be super show. Dave, congrats on the 1500 subs!!,nice. And gotta say a big Thank You mate,for the shout out our way,couple films ago. Be safe on your road trip- cannot wait 'till we get to go on one. See ya, H.

Hi Hayward, Hope I find you well! A lot of history between the Gaumont & the Winter Gardens, but sad to think how much Beatles history is disappearing to make way for new modem building’s and architecture! Glad you like 126 Panorama Rd, original plot but original bungalow long since gone, lovely setting and apparently in around 40 years , that area will be underwater! My wife’s mother and her sister saw the Beatles at the winter gardens in 63, it was bedlam according to her. If only I had a Time Machine lol ! No problem for the shout out! Stay well my friend!

Hi Brad, Oh yes I use that beginning for my “On the Road” episodes! It’s great to have you seeing those places which are all sadly starting to disappear, very sad! Yes that program is from their final shows at the Gaumont in Bournemouth in 1964. I’ve been meaning to do this one for a long time but thought it’s 60th anniversary, was the perfect time! Hi Dave, hope you're well. This was interesting. I never knew John's Aunt Mimi lived in Sandbanks. I hope they do something with the old theatre and it doesn't get pulled down. The Beatles played a couple of times at The Portsmouth Guildhall in 1963. It was no surprise you seeing Ringo at the BIC. I went to a concert in 2014 at The Pavillion Theatre. Enjoy your time at Beatle week. We all look forward to hearing about it. 🙂

When you look at the Beatles tour itinerary , they certainly didn’t get much rest in-between shows, recording etc! The pavilion is quite a nice place and I’ve been there a few times! That was amazing! Oddly, some places there remind me of downtown Rio, like the cinema theatre with even the same name (Odeon). BTW, there's a Beatles related location there, which is Vista Chinesa (Chinese View). George Martin conducted an orchestra there once. Thank you once more for a wonderful time!

Yes , that aspect does seem pretty heartless doesn’t it!

I wonder how much longer Apple are going to keep that early live show recording sit around in a safe for? This year would be an appropriate time to get it mastered and mixed with a little help from A.I and release it in an organised assault on the music listening public alongside the new song or maybe if we’re lucky new songs.
