George Harrison wasn't just a songwriter and musician, he also had a great sense of humour. He backed the Monty Python films. A true contribution to music and comedy. RIP George.

George was then and remains now my favourite Beatle. Apart from writing the most beautiful of songs, his spirituality touched me and certainly influenced me profoundly. I wish I could have met him. Gone but never forgotten. Creative differences will always come into play in bands, but love, friendship and respect is what gave them a lifelong bond.

Paul was pushy but if not for him, the group would have fallen apart when Brian died. Lennon abdicated his leadership role in the group as he was distracted by drugs and someone else. Without Paul, Pepper wouldn't have happened. Then after that, Brian kicked the bucket and the entire dynamic changed. John and George both went slightly insane. In any event, their egos couldn't have accepted Paul in a leadership role. How Paul managed to get them to record 5 more albums is truly remarkable.

By his own admission, Harrison didn't have that many songs until later on. Tensions existed between Paul and all the other Beatles. Paul was a songwriting powerhouse, and even Lennon was jealous of his talent. There are tensions in every band, especially in one with so many talented members. However, hatred is probably too strong a word. The Beatles probably broke up at the right time. They left a brilliant body of work in the short time they were together, never becoming contrived or forced. None of them were yet thirty when they disbanded. Think about that. I wish John and George were still with us, but I think it would somehow diminish the magic if they were doing reunion tours and releasing substandard material. In the words of George Harrison, "All things must pass".

Love them all. Big egos. Huge talent. Of them all McCartney had the most drive and biggest ego. He had a huge drive to succeed. Of the four extremely talented men,, he was the most talented. All could have been the frontman of most bands. It was McCartney who introduced Harrison to Lennon. The group should have let Harrison have some more participation, but in the end, he was behind both Lennon and McCartney.Ringo realized this and got along with everyone. McCartney is extremely clever and highly driven. Few could match his energy or talent, let alone both. I am sure , he can be quite bossy. George Harrison was a great talent, he just happened to have a couple of band mates who surpassed his excellence.

Lennon and McCartney were two strong personalities. Difficult for George to deal with this in a small group and under the pressure of immense fame. Starr appeared to just keep going and not get too emotional about the group dynamics.

In the end, it was Paul who lost the most at the end of The Beatles. John was angry with him for having announced the end of the group before him. Georges was angry with him for controlling the group too much. He was less angry with Eric Clapton for his affair with his ex-wife. The majority of the media did not hesitate to demean Paul, the critics were much less lenient towards him. The other three came together for the song “How do you sleep”. It must be quite difficult to find yourself excluded by your own friends. This shows one thing: even if human beings preach peace, they have difficulty putting it into practice when they are the ones involved in the conflict.

Great video! I've been a Beatles fan since I saw their concert in Sydney in 1964, and taught a course in Beatlemania at a Japanese university. I was familiar with most of the information you presented, but learned a few very interesting things from your video. George visited his sister in the US in 1963? Never heard about that before ... Some of George's songs recorded with The Beatles are wonderful - If I Needed Someone, Savoy Truffle, Long, Long, Long, Here Comes the Sun. He was a great guitarist, a great songwriter, and a great spirit.

George and Paul had been together since childhood and cared deeply for each other like brothers. George didn't despise or even hate Paul. There was a lot of call it sort of sibling rivalry. Paul felt like his big brother and knew of Georges wanting to get more of his material included. So Paul being the kind of person he is wanting to contribute to George's songs, but George wanted him to butt out say I got this. No hatred or otherwise, just two brotherly friends and musicians.

It’s hard to imagine that George could even have that form of feelings towards a man that he knew virtually all his life. The way that George showed the example of his spirituality would not allow that anger that might’ve existed to get in the way of his creative ability. The talents somehow gets strangled by business. But in the end, they were both able to show their enormous love for music.

At the end of the day, George and Paul were friends when George passed away. When it comes to John, George had never settled his differences when John was murdered. George was never happy in that he helped John for many years, but in 1974 when George's US tour was not going too well, he was greatly disappointed that John did not lift a finger to help him. As Paul once said, he was OK with John, but George never had that closure with John when he was murdered.
