The showing of my Ringo Starr U.K. 45 Collection of Apple singles from 1971-1976!
After The Beatles split in 1970, Ringo was clearly worried about his future, but he kept busy helping John, George & Yoko on their 1970’ albums as well as his continued film roles.
Between 1971 and 1976, Ringo released a very respectable bunch of 45’s that showed just exactly what the ex Beatles drummer could really do as a solo artist!

    Oh Dave you brought back a fond memory with those books you showed. Those 2 discographies by Neville Stannard were among my first as well, although the US covers were different. It was the first time I ever heard of the Let It Be Box. My very first Beatle books purchased in 1979 as an 8 year old were "In Their Own Words" by Barry Miles, and Roy Carrs "The Illustrated Beatles"

    Hi Don, Definitely very important books for serious Beatles collectors, and both of those other books “in their own words and the illustrated Beatles” I had at the time and still have them, sounds like we had most of the same literature! Thanks for watching!

    Great job once more, Dave ! I love that blue Back Off Boogaloo label ! I have the U.S. single, but I just ordered that U.K. one. That color really pops ! And that cool picture sleeve of course. Btw, I've always thought the best mix for Photograph was on the 45. lp and cd releases somehow couldn't duplicate that 45 sound in my opinion. Thanks, my friend ! Have a good week and see you the next !

    Hi Nick, Thanks my friend! Yeh absolutely love that blue apple , I often wonder why blue was chosen , buts it’s well cool! The 45 does seem to sonically sound richer on that single definitely , but then all 45’s should sound better than their Lp counterparts if the cutting engineer has done his job properly. Thanks for watching, stay well and have a great week!

    Hi Dave, great collection of Ringo 45s. The ones I remember hearing on the radio are Photograph and You're Sixteen. I find Ringo is overshadowed by the other guys in solo releases. I think my original comment may have been deleted because I put a web-link in it? Anyway, thanks for a great answer to my question BeatleDave, I will check out some of the books you recommend. These would be my five (at the moment, but it's forever changing!): - The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions, by Mark Lewisohn, 1988; - The Beatles: An Illustrated Record, by Roy Carr & Tony Tyler, 1975; - Revolution In The Head, by Ian McDonald, 1994; - The Complete Beatles Chronicle, by Mark Lewisohn, 1992; and - Tell Me Why by Tim Riley, 1988.

    @@beatledavesbeatleschannel I don't it's a matter of Ringo being in the US. If you look at who's at the Top Ten in both countries, you'll find a big difference. I think the UK was more into glam rock during the first half of the 70's than the US was. They are great singles. By the way, "Snookeroo" was the B Side to "No No Song" and "Oo-Wee" was B Side to "Good Night Vienna" over here in the US. Thanks for the great content. Stay well!

    Why do you wear white gloves when handling your records?? They are not priceless artwork They are meant to be played man!! Fingerprints won’t hurt the covers Never heard of anyone wearing white gloves to play records Isn’t that going overboard??

  • @beatledavesbeatleschannel

    @beatledavesbeatleschannel

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Dave, I like to keep my vinyl / sleeves in pristine condition as hands/skin is naturally greasy and repetitive handling as I do would result in grubbiness. To me they are priceless and a very important part of my Beatles collecting life into 43 years now, and I want to keep them in as mint condition as possible. They are definitely made to be played and they do! Also in his last video Andrew Milton at Parlogram also wore white gloves, he like me obviously understands the handling importance! Stay well!
