Hi Dave, Nice selection of John's Imagine album. He has some great artists working with him on this. King Curtis was fatally stabbed not long after the sessions finished for this. He was a great saxophonist. Take care and see on Easter Sunday for George boxset.

I knew only Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon," as a Quadrophonic album,and former Yugoslavia pressed that one,never heard of " Imagine," until now. Nice suprise Dave.😎

Hi M, I believe quite a lot of 8 track tapes were also released on the quadrophonic format in the early to mid 70’s, it just didn’t really catch on. Stay well!

Hello Dave ! I bought Imagine at a Beatles convention here in Boston only one week after John was killed. It was pretty subdued as everyone was still in shock, of course. And here I am, 43 years later and it's still in my collection as a bittersweet memory, but a great album ! And a great video as well ! Thanks, my friend, and see you soon !

Hi Brad, Ahh yes indeed, a super John Lennon album! I always preferred the USA inner sleeve type , just looked so much better with the label in the middle of the inner sleeve! So many variations sometimes to collect that it just gets out of control doesn’t it mate! Have a fab week!

I had the Quad version of this but sadly swapped it for some other items at a record convention years ago. The mix is available on the Imagine Ultimate Collection, will track down the mix on LP eventually.Cheers Dave!

@Beatle Dave's Beatle Channel- yes,that's right,the meeting& the ' meeting J.& P. had in cafeteria was amazing to me. And forgot to say that quad lp. , fantastic,as well as 8track& I'm really amazed that still have this original lp.too. ( sans the postcard,though) sadly. Think those some of Yoko's best photos that I've seen; always fancied the back album shot as much as front. Ok.Dave- think got one big super question for ya', or I'd probably break it into two. Hayward thinks is pretty good too. Let me know when to lay it on you. Groovy wknd., Somewhat ' trampled under foot' with back injury,oy. Big goal for day is shaving& moving a few light items. #1 TN. sub., M .

Imagine is one of my favourites Lennon album. I also have that first UK stereo pressing (George Peckham is one of my favourite lacquer cutters) and a mid 80's brazilian pressing. That UK quadrophonic is really a treat. Also looking for the USSR pressing by Melodiya. Their pressings quality is outstanding. Thanks for the video!

@@beatledavesbeatleschannel Harry Moss is awesome and one of the most important in history, if not the most. How does the quad mix sound on stereo systems? There were lots of quad formats back then but only a few were stereo compatible. Is that one of those if played with anything less than a hyperelliptical stylus would damage the whole thing?

@@fbt25 You can play the quad mix on normal stereo equipment without fear of damage to the record etc, it sounds a slightly different mix as I guess your only getting 2 of the channels !

Hello Sir Your pressings of John’s Imagine album seem wonderful and it is so cool that you also have an eight track as well This past October 9 I was at my brothers house, celebrating John’s birthday with my niece and nephew When my niece started to play her John Lennon vinyl, she told me that she had three different copies of imagine After she told me this, she let me touch the postcards and the poster that came with them Oddly enough, I noticed that she also has a copy like yours with only the poster and no postcards I was thinking that maybe she accidentally tossed them out or that it had once been owned by a person who took them out of the record sleeve and placed them somewhere else However , now that you are saying that you also have a copy like that, I guess that some additions just came that way, but it seems a little strange As for me, I have 3 copies of this album on CD One is the box set that came out in 2018 with the four CDs and the 2 blue raise Another is the one that is in my Signature box, which came out in 2010 and my third copy I believe came out in the 1980s Now I am hoping to find a copy on Cassett Before I finish, I want to congratulate you for the ranking of the Please Please me album that you did on its 60th anniversary I am very happy to know that you picked one of John’s songs as your most favorite John Lennon means a lot to me and for that reason I want to say thank you very much for picking that song as your most favorite I won’t say which one it is so that people haven’t seen that video could go back and watch it God bless you and as always I will hear you on the next video

Hi Angie, Nice to hear from you! Sorry about late reply been working all day today! Glad you enjoyed my albums and 8 track , John was a fantastic guy and his songwriting was second to none! I’m guessing in some cases the posters and postcards can get lost or kept but not every copy had both especially some later editions ! The great thing is , that Johns work is readily available to everyone that wants to listen to his wonderful work! Thanks so much for praising my Ranking video , always means a lot to me!
