    Hello, so what can someone do if you have a combination of chronic indigestion and chronic constipation, and due to the indigestion the person has lost so much weight, also the person is on a plantbased diet. What can be done to stop these symptoms.

    If you're eating foods that are rich in OXALATES, and you have a tendency to produce KIDNEY STONES, then isn't it a good idea to take a CALCIUM SUPPLEMENTS to mitigate the risk here?

    Love Dr. Gardner and his work. But what he is saying about beans doesn't make a lot of sense. If you ate 6 cups of black beans a day, you would a) likely not get enough calories (it comes out to around 1500 calories), b) get 85 grams of total protein, and c) EXCEED the RDA of all of your essential amino acids (at least according to Chronometer). Specifically for methionine, you would get 1.1 grams, which is 213% of your RDA (this is for a highly active person in the profile). For 3 cups of black beans, you would get 45 grams of total protein and still meet your RDA for methionine (but yes, you would come up short for cystine at 73% of RDA). But I do get and appreciate the point he is making. Eating a variety of plant foods means getting adequate amounts of all the essential acids (or even excess amounts), and plant foods contain all 20 amino acids in different proportions, which is mind-blowing to a lot of people.

    My GERD is improving. When I'm stressed I focus primarily on processed food and sweet tea. Lol 😂 I eat raisin bread, popcorn and bear claws or Danish. My symptoms started to improve in days.

    The best advice I can give is; try eating meat ONLY for 6 months, if you're not feeling better than ever then change it for whatever you want though I'm sure that won't be the case if you do it 100% for at least 6 months.

    I think its the glutin. I don't think a person has to be a vegan. Especially bc the human body doesnt really absorb the vegies very well and alot of it ends up fermenting in the gut. I think its glutin..glutin in the grain, glutin in the meat and eggs. Personally, i feel better when i eat mostly meat and limit everything else. Especially sugar and any breads and pasta. Limiting the glutin is definitely a good start. Im glad she is feeling better. Going vegan has limited her glutin intake in meat. Im curious if she has cut out grains or not.

    Does Zoe support the consumption of animals and animal products? If so, why is the Physicians Committee giving them a platform?

  • @Petunia-fl9lu
    @Petunia-fl9lu22 сағат бұрын

    Zoe is 'plant forward' and Stanford is vegan leaning so they are not into animal products. the female dietician academic has investments in the almond industry. she said dairy milk is more nutritious than plant mylks, but that people should drink plant milks 'for the planet' which is ridiculous. Burning fossil fuels is the problem, volcanoes, rotting plant matter - the earth is oozing methane a few cows in a field living on grass and recycling methane is not a problem.

  • @Greg-kz3cf
    @Greg-kz3cf22 сағат бұрын

    @@Petunia-fl9lu That just sounds like rubbish - particularly the part about a ‘few cows’. You need to do a bit of research Petunia on the devastating impact of animal agriculture on the environment.

    I watched nearly half of this and still haven’t the slightest idea how he cured himself. Too frustrating… worst interview ever. How could they ramble for 20 minutes and say absolutely nothing. He mentioned it was to do with diet… but what diet? carnivore diet? I assume it must be since all the evidence suggests carnivore diet stops inflammation and vegetables are the cause of inflammation. But they said NOTHING REGARDING THIS. RIDICULOUS,!

    Surprisingly uninteresting presentation. Full of strawman arguments. Okay modern chicken eggs and avocados where not available to paleo people and that would disqualify this theory somehow? No paleo is about eating in a similar way to the type of foods that humans are meant to eat, not to strive to eat exactly like they did. The main change is to not eat processed food or grains. This woman is probably sponsored by companies like General Mills, Keloggs etc.

    I've been working with a continence nurse to help my child who has neurogenic constipation. Beans and bananas and more soluble fibres ARE worse for my child. It took a lot of work and food diaries and experimenting to find out - now she's pooping every day or second day - a beautiful number 3 on the Bristol poop chart. No more beans/oats/chia/banana etc. Less fibre - and mostly insoluble. Before you stuff more fibre - remember it binds with nutrients and can be bad for you - particularly for children they can be deficient in nutrients with a too high fibre diet...due to anti nutrients that's why fibre requirements are set low - anti nutrients in plant foods. regarding consultation solutions - important to test foods, and keep a good diary. Have a big cleanup with magnesium and then have a base diet and test food around that. She now has steak and green beans and broccoli for dinner, two eggs for breakfast and chicken or fish with brown rice and quinoa mix for lunch with or without apple or raspberries etc. before that we were doing oats for breakfast, or baked beans on wholegrain, blueberries etc and bananas every day, it just clogged her. too much SOLUBLE fibre - and syllium husks were not good - but then again her problem is a neurogenic constipation - so as Will says, important to know why you are constipated. and 30ml of water per kilo of body weight -

    For a plant-based diet, how are you going to get Taurine, omega3, B12. and ...... how?! If you want to eat flaxseed for omega3, i believe you need to eat 1kgm of flaxseed everyday?! So how Japanese eat a lot of sea foods and meat but still very healthy?!?!

    Spices are the soul of every dish, adding depth, flavour, and character that elevate a meal from ordinary to extraordinary. Whether it's the warmth of cinnamon, the kick of cayenne, or the earthiness of cumin, each spice brings its own unique essence to the table, turning cooking into an art form. I've found myself reaching for these aromatic treasures time and again, enriching my culinary creations with their magic. Thanks to Podcast Physicians Committee and Dr. Will Bulsiewicz for their dedication to exploring the world of spices, enriching our palates and expanding our culinary horizons. For those curious about incorporating more spices into your dishes, check out my cooking channel www.youtube.com/@Tastyfoodsafari/videos?view=0&sort=dd&shelf_id=2where I often showcase how to use these flavorful spices

    So this video was recorded in ~ 1985 ? AND for 98 % of human history a vegan diet was rare simply because of limited availability (seasons) PLUS the life expectancy was not even half and most diet caused illness (carb heavy grazing) manifest in 40+ age people. You really need to do better on selecting guest speakers.
