Although I do show ideas and fishing tactics in my videos, none of them are meant to be a "how to" they are just my own experiences whilst out fishing and what I have learnt over the years. I hope that you enjoy the videos as I really enjoy creating and sharing them with you fellow anglers. Now let's go fishing for memories!

fantastic fun..I really enjoyed this film..
Hi Mark, another great vlog, you catch some lovely Tench. Really interested in the Shimano STC rod, would you say the latest versions are suitable, worried that the handle maybe too short. I noted that yours had a handle section that screwed on. I like to travel light and seeing you travel on a bike and have everything you need is great.
Thanks for all you do mark, amazing angling, this makes me really want to target some of them big chub 👍🏻 all the best this season bud 🫡
Nunca hubiera pensado que en un país no muy caluroso como es Gran Bretaña hubiese esos enormes ejemplares de trenca de …¡más de cuatro kilos! Excelente vídeo. Saludos desde España.
Lovely lump that mate!
Thanks 👍
Mark respect. I have been fishing for tench for about 18 years in Ireland, but I never caught or seen such a big tench. thanks for the video. Well done.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi mark I’ve just joined up to reading angling club on the Kennet. Never fished it before, could you possibly point out a few good stretches to try my luck?
i’ve bought a few bits and pieces from aliexpress…. got some good packs of ledgering rig items for carp fishing with all the components for a safe free running rig and they were less than a fiver whereas in this country in a tackle shop you’re paying double… I bought a 100 piece lixada set in a nice box and a hirisi 40 piece camouflage set… excellent value…
Good stuff and Hirisi make some very good hooks too.
@@francolinobasco yeah i’ve recently ordered barbed for the river and barbless for the carp ponds…. again good prices…
Hi Mark. I've just been reading about you becoming ill with E. coli after fishing on the Blackwater. I do hope you are feeling better mate. What are our rivers becoming........It's so sad.
Cheers mate I am feeling good, the actual incident happened in February but the local news wanted to cover it for the new fishing season and to highlight poor water quality issues.
Hope your feeling better mate.. see the post about you getting ecoli from the thames!! Disgusting
Cracking fish yet again. I would love to find venues that are overlooked like you have found. It's very rewarding finding fish like that. Your videos have definitely inspired me to get out after the tench. I can now have some idea how holding big tench like yours after a visit to an East Midlands river. I fished it last year and saw the tip of the iceberg having tench to 6lb. This years first trip I had 3 big tench to 7lb 13oz my new pb. Hopefully I'll find something as big as yours on some new venues I have access to this year. Tight lines looking forward to your next video.
I saw your video on foudry brook and was wondering where I can fish it for free and also how the stocks are recovering. dont worry if you dont want to give up your secret spots😜
pls reply
bro😑
Are you using the STC 2.7m m 10-20g rod ?
Just came across your channel. I love it. My kind of fishing. Im at the start of my youtube adventure. Hope my videos become as good and entertaining as yours eventually 🙂
well done mark nice perch worth it when you see those colours on the bank in the evening sun,,on a canal ,,,,,night fishing canals will get you big bream/ roach bream hybrids /eels and carp /tench eels,, ,feed the swim after the boats have stopped about 8 o.clock ,, fish over through the night, smashing fishing ,well mark great video as always until your next adventure down by the water tight lines,,
I believe prawns are also good for perch.
Nice one Mark my fav fish perch nice perch to end the session on
Hi Mark I am a new subscriber. I have been barbel fishing for quite a few years now after 15 years of pike fishing which I packed in after catching a 7lb barbel which gave me the best fight I’ve ever had. Anyway my local river Aire is brill and has plenty of barbel in it but spent years on the Trent with the fashionable craze of tripod with two rods facing the sky. I have grown tired of this mechanical fishing so I’ve changed to your way of thinking but not entirely as I just fish one swim. I bought a Korum 10 foot opportunist rod and fished just one rod on my local medium sized river only session so far (17 th) and had the best session I’ve ever had catching so many barbel and bream that I didn’t have time to drink my coffee. Biggest was 10lb 12 oz. This is proper fishing like you have said. Enjoy your vids. The fishing guru I know who fishes like you who currently has our river record caught carp at 56 lb ( an escapee) mentions you all the time as being the best angler he’s seen and he’s sixty odd. Keep up the good work
Awesome

Glad you enjoyed it mate!
Wow, great fish Mark, well done! Magnificent condition.
The best angler on KZread.
You're too kind, sometimes you get lucky fishing trips.
Hi mark great video yet again. If i may ask a question, how do you prepare the birdfeed? Do you boil like hemp etc?
I soak the seed overnight, and then boil it for 20 to 30 minutes so that much of the water is reduced. I then cover it in a bucket with plenty more hot water and pop lid on and leave to expand more over night ,be sure to fully re hydrate it and bring to boil then simmer for 30 before that. Remember to use a large enough barrel or bucket so that you can use enough water. A baby burco is useful if making large amounts, although i generally just use a large pressure cooker saucepan or 2 and then when done put in bucket and cover with more hot water, seal and leave over night to steam itself more.
Thanks for the detailed reply Mark. I will be following the advice and doing a batch ready for the new season. I cant wait. I fish tidal trent and may be a good way to go i think. Cheers. Tight lines. Looking forward to more amazing vids.
Lost count of the times ive watched this. It warms my heart when im down. Love it mate. Glad you are back making these for us. I feel lucky to be able to watch the journey❤️👍

Nobody on you tube catches finer looking tench than you mark and it's obvious that the venues you fish aren't easy but the effort and your enthusiasm for the species is contagious a true pioneer Marko 😁 keeping us entertained and very much appreciated fella 😀 good god these fish are jaw dropping 👍

@@francolinobasco absolutely welcome mark is there any chance you could try moatlands this year fella as it obviously produces special fish also , your a lucky man having all those venues close by ,I'd love to catch a bigger tench my pb is just over 6lb they're a bit thin on the ground up here in Yorkshire 👍
