You join Mark again as he heads out barbel fishing during what at the time was the beginning of Autumn (September). This time for one of my shorter evening trips on the River Kennet hunting barbel and hoping to connect with another of this beautiful waterways barbel.

Rod - Advanta RVS River Ambush 1.75
Reel - Shmano 2500 FL DA Baitrunner loaded with 12lb Shimano Technium
Hooks - ESP Cryogen - Gripper pattern
Low resistance Running ledger set up
Bait
Mainline 50/50 base mix with my own choice of savoury liquid foods and addition ingredients fished with matching paste.
Groundbait
Bird Seed and Mainline Sweet Marine Groundbait

Australian fishing etiquette - never take bananas fishing, they bring bad luck (or they plain just don't appreciate it 😁) ....... clearly doesn't apply in the UK, lovely fish!

What bird seed do you use mark, do you boil it up like hemp ? I used to use trapping and conditioner many years ago.
