Fishing For Perch - Perch Fishing Short Evening Session During Autumn (Video 248)

Спорт

Polite Notice - This video was filmed during early Autumn and Not during the current Coarse fishing close season. Also sorry for my delays in uploading recently as well as replying to comments.
You join Mark as he heads out for a short evening fishing trip, hoping to connect with a half decent perch on a small waterway and a river he's grown very fond of over the many years of having fished it. Would a plump perch turn up? Or would it be a case of going home with his tail between his legs?
You can also follow me on instagram to get faster responses and sneek peaks at what I am up to.

    Mark, what a super video. Ive been watching you for years now and feel you should be talking mainstream tv to share your expertise and beautiful delivery with the wider fishing public. You are better presenter than any tv fishing guru in my memory, and I'm getting on a bit, and your vast knowledge of your sport and environment make your clips unmissable. Keep up the excellent work, I hope to meet you one day, for I, too, have some stories to tell. Best wishes to you. Nick Moore. Leicestershire.

    Thanks Nicholas, that's a very kind thing of you to say. It would be nice to have a TV slot even though it is a pipe dream. The next best thing is for me to be able to make the videos and share them via this platform, for you guys who seem to really share the same ethos regarding why we go fishing.

I remember that was a short rod … but yes, I agree I like a short feeder rd that has interchangeable sections and some of them are under 1 ounce … I remember the old signal wands … I had the radial wand and that had some really fine tips that came with it. That was a few years ago now though and showing my age. 🤣🤣🤣

  • @markerd5378

    @markerd5378

    Жыл бұрын

    Thbaks gavin, this particular quiver tip rod in the video wasn't the lightest of tips, probably 3 ounce. My preference is as lighter tip as possible usually and I'd out of choice normally go with an 0.75 of an ounce tip on a small river if it isn't in flood. Hope that helps. The old shimano vengeance winkle picker rods are perfect for sensitive fishing.

    What a lovely perch. I tried for a perch (or whatever would take maggots) on my local canal a couple of days ago, no joy that time, the resident heron had more success, but I have managed to land two nice double figure pike in recent weeks. Do you fish for trout? I've treated myself to an 8ft Drennan Lureflex 10g - 30g rod and Daiwa Ninja 2500A reel for casting small lures and spinners, hoping to catch some brown trout soon.

    Cheers Beesa! Hah it's funny to see you say that the heron had a better day's fishing as I too have had similar when I've seen kingfishers making a better job at fishing than myself 😂 and usually mutter to myself "you bloody show off" haha. I don't really do any trout fishing mate not with lures, I keep meaning to take up fly fishing but some of the fly fishing clubs down south are fairly expensive for it and can be a little too cliquey.

    Hey there Frank, yes you're totally correct! I have done in the past. It's a lovely spot. The metal pole I believe is a light and there's a solar panel attached to it. I've been seeing the news regarding all the fish deaths on your rivers, it looks terrible mate, I can only imagine the clear up operation, bad stuff.

  • @captainfrank01

    @captainfrank01

    @@markerd5378 Love it when people tell me I'm right - doesn't happen very often lol! The fish deaths are very disturbing and have been on-going for the past few years in the Murray/Darling and other rivers, firstly due to drought and more recently, floods. It's the nature of this country I'm afraid, one extreme to the other. You would no doubt also be aware of the problem introduced carp have caused here for years and now there is talk of releasing a virus that is carp specific (many would say that is highly unlikely). If that was to happen, what you have seen recently in terms of fish kills would be nothing compared to the devastation a virus would cause.
