Winter Time Fishing on a small swollen river - Very Tough Trip! (Video 241)
Спорт
You join me as I head out while many of my local rivers are in flood to a small waterway, which was also still quite swollen and prove to be a tough trip! Armed with a litte quiver tip rod, some slices of bread, worms, maggots and the link leger. For those of you whom may not have seen me fish this river in my older videos, I am also providing some links to those videos down below.

Thank you Mr D!
Nice video. Otters are killing so many river fisheries- there are so many fewer chub numbers these days compared to 30 years ago. That's from 30 years experience.
That's the way it goes sometimes Mark, but you'll have better days! Nice chub.

Nice Mark! Winter fishing is always tough in climes that actually have a real winter.

Cheers Rick and yes that's true, there's nothing worse than inconsistent water levels up and down to throw an angler a curve ball or two.
You simply wait the answer from the calm gentle little stream steadily . I love your fishing style very much . Thank you very much . Feb. 20th 2023 Mon. 01:31 am from Yokohama City Japan

Cheers John, yup it helps to be stubborn sometimes 😂
Rivers in flood are always hard especially with cold water going in. As you say tributaries are your best bet in that case in the slacks. Well done mate.

Thanks Robert, yes generally when the larger rivers are up and out of sorts you'll lick a fish or two up on the small ones, although they were in a fickle mood on this particular day.
Nice one Mark - that’s fishing realism - nice to be at one with nature .

You're very welcome mate and thanks for watching 👍
tough call mark the river looked boily and a fast flow very hard to catch anything in those conditions .but a nice clean chub and that,s a result ,,rivers are moody that.s why i like to fish them ether roving or on a deep wide swim spend the trip there,,real crabtree fishing so nice video mark ,,,,until your next adventure down by the water tight lines..

Cheers Stephen yes she was up and running coloured and as you say a bit boily, but hey what can you do, you either go fishing or you don't mate. It was a tough trip but I enjoy showing all my trips for what they are. Transparent about how tough they can be and raw. Cheers for watching mate 😀
Ive not been out fishing in ages i want to go more often and watching your videos makes me want to go even more but my Mental health problems keep me from doing so and not having a car any more also does not help ! I was thinking of getting an Electric bike but dont know where to start is there any chance you could maybe do a video on your bike ? Cost pros/cons why you chose that bike etc etc ?? Tight lines my friend ☺

Hello Lee it's one made by a new Zealand company called Ridge line, I got mine second hand and it's very good but forget the exact model name.
How long do you typically spend in each swim. Just because im a little impatient and like to fidget or know that im actually still have my bait on the line.

I don't do longer than 20 minutes per swim usually and 30 if I really do fancy it. I'm usually happy bread flake stays on the hook as long as its a fresh enough loaf and a decent make, like hovis or Warburtons, or Iceland medium /door step sliced
