One river we used to hear about all the time in the 80s it's actually nice to see a video on the river now.

Same here..proving that still some good fish around about in surprising places in mother nature's tenacity.... Good to see all those insects flying about....yes the interesting to have the deep lens upon life. I'm a deep diver in more than just the fishing..

Another enjoyable video Mark. That 8 lbs barbel gave you a right good scrap. I’ve rejoined a club on the Kennet this season after a break of about eight years and have only had three long outings so far with no success other than one decent chub. I’ve no doubt there are still barbel in the Kennet albeit not in the same numbers as a few years ago but it’s just a question of finding them!

You can do it Mark, I have not been out for around 3 weeks, since i had my last barbel! :( . battling some demons.

Great Video Mark. Good insight into Barbel fishing. Nothing worthwhile comes easy. Yeah 8lb prime fighting weight. Did a lot of fishing at Rainesford farm, on the Thatcham ticket, was very productive before the red signals took over.

Hi Mark do you ever fish for crayfish Ive used a decoy before now putting a crayfish pot near me with a good old smelly something in it that attracts the crays and clears my swim of the sods and I go home with a feed I used to do this on gravel pits. Smashing Barbel what a scrap you really put some effort in your fishing Thank you for all your efforts kind regards Mr D

Hi Mark. Have you tried using Armour mesh on your baits? Most lakes down south are infested with crayfish and armour mesh really helps me out! BTW, I Iike your videos... keep it up! Mike

Totally agree with what you said about 8/10ib fish fighting better. Just to add to that could it be the males just fight different to the females like tench do. I miss my days out on the kennet

Just a political reference because i have a bike, I don't do politics in my fishing lol, unless it is fishing related politics lol.

There's a scam account claiming that you have won rods and tackle don't answer it report it please.Its been on a few fishing channels.
