Todd Graves

Todd Graves teaches The Single Plane Golf Swing of Moe Norman to help you simplify your golf swing.

If you are frustrated, confused or looking for an easier way to play, the Single Plane Swing is for you.

My journey to better golf led me to Moe Norman in 1994.. Through his ten year tutelage, I was able to discover his often misunderstood, unique golf swing method which simplifies the golf swing. In doing so I was able to become a a great ball-striker and find my love for golf again.

Moe's discovery is now being used by thousands of golfers around the world. I believe it is the golf swing answer you are looking for. This channel is dedicated to helping you discover Moe and learn what I learned - how his Single Plane Swing can help you hit the golf ball better than you ever imagined. Todd, what you say is v interesting and informative, but, 19 minutes long!!! Sorry buddy but you lost me around the 4minute mark. I get it that you’re getting money per click but surely the 8 or 9 minute point is long enough to get your point over and get paid! Can I suggest you look up some of Phil Mickelson vids, he’s great, quick and to the point. Best of luck but I need to be elsewhere.🤞

    Hi Todd. Fintan here. Just wondering why you don't sort of jump back to throw the club. Like Bryson. And I think Moe sort of did this too I feel it would modernise this. And add loads of clubhead speed from the legs.

    My experience is that the ACTUAL degree to which you should move your lead leg to stabilize it is much smaller than the degree to which you THINK or feel you should do it. IOW, when your mind wanders you tend to increase that lead leg movement (also do it at the wrong angle) and the result is chaos; e.g. getting too over the ball, swinging left and slicing, topping, chunking. I sort of found this out yesterday: The first seven or eight holes I was striking the ball better than I ever have but as the round went on I sliced, topped, fatted and the common denominator was feeling unstable after that shift. Sometimes, after hitting it well, you start thinking: "OK, now do MORE of what you were doing to get even better" and the result is overdoing that move into the knee. Logically, I know there are no "magic bullets" but at least this video will keep me occupied until I can go out again on Sunday. Thanks to Todd again for offering the free content.

    4:04 - About two or three frames in pause mode, we can see as Todd's hands reach about ear height his pelvis begins to move towards the target and MOST importantly his hands CONTINUE higher and further into his backswing during those 2 or 3 frames. This provides an opportunity for what's about to come next - LOADING THE SHAFT! All the work as been done mostly at that point and he just unwinds his lower body and the upper body follows behind. Todd still has a great swing even as he gets a little older. The only thing I noticed that has changed just a bit, is Todd's upper thoracic is lifting up about 1 inch during the backswing. Not a big deal. The lead arm coming up and across the chest is extending the thoracic just a bit. Probably not worth changing at this point, since he hitting the ball very solid.

  • @zero2herogolf
    @zero2herogolfКүн бұрын

    3:28 - And that butt push (behind us & towards the target) is exactly what we see the biggest hitters doing on the PGA tour. Hogan was notorious for doing this in his younger days. Sammy Snead did this to a lesser degree than Hogan. Many in Hogan/Sneads era did this move nearly every time. If you watch Cameron champ, he exaggerates this move and of course pounds the ball a mile! Cameron also maintains very good pelvis depth until the very end and only then does he thrust his pelvis (loses depth) at the target . Extremely effective way to properly position the pelvis. The other thing I would say is, most amateurs don't understand, at address, the need to have the abdominals slightly taunt during most of the swing. This stablizes the lower back and prevents injury. It's difficult to play high level golf with good pelvis depth, but have a loose core.

    Only place I have found an issue is if I have a very sloped lie with ball below my feet, I cannot grab a longer iron to reduce how much I have to bend down. Instead I use a 4 hybrid which is standard length from a variable set; it’s my utility recovery club for punch shots from bad lies

    Todd could you do a video on how to make sure/or how, to set the wrist correctly on the back swing as for years I have fought setting or not setting the wrist (no wrist set loss of power) seems some days If I try and set the wrist I end up opening the club face and end up hitting beautiful straight shots right of target, in the sand or the lake.

    Only two things about this. Number 1, Bryson has said on numerous videos he stresses the left elbow facing the target. Number 2, I've looked too many times to mention, but I've never seen the back of Todd's left hand either facing the target or aligned with the club face. I'd really like an explanation for this. BTW, I'm now doing the 30 Day Plan!

Do we know the length of clubs that he used based on his big round grips? What are they comparable now to jumbo grips. What size would that be? What was Monan swing weight? What was the head weights of his clubs?

    Just started watching your videos, this makes so much sense to me after 30 + years of struggling with the modern golf swing and instruction. Im hooked with getting this model right. Ive never made so many position to position swings with a broom handle in front of a mirror before trying to engrave this into my muscle memory. Im close, have some inconsistencywith face angle and back foot staying down but I’ve never hit it better. My question though is when I play on the course now it seems like I have lost 5-10 yards in distance with my irons, Im also hitting it much higher Im assuming due to Tilt is this common and normal? Will I get my distance back as it has my yardages a bit messed up. Thanks Todd for keeping Moe and his swing alive! -Mike

    this theory is based on 2 players... the current best ball strikers (Rory, Shuffler, Scheffely, etc) don't use this motion... and as Bryson used very customized clubs and shaft length... interesting... but surely not for everybody. thanks anyway..

  • @ToddGravesGolf

    I wouldn't describe it like that. The right arm is externally rotated in the downing. the body is rotating and pulling the lead arm to keep the right arm externally rotated.
