What Your Backswing Should Feel Like

Feel is an important part of learning a repeatable golf swing.
In this video, I discuss what you should feel in your golf swing.
Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.

Todd I was watching one of your videos from a year ago . And something you said made a bell go off for me. I actually discovered it from hours of practice. I just had never really acknowledged it and said it out loud or put it on paper .u said one of Moe's secrets was how he (LET) the ( POSITION of the CLUB ) & his ( BODY POSTION AT ADDRESS ) tell him ( WHERE and HOW to GRIP THE CLUB ) . and once I knew what was going on and fully committed I started crushing the ball further and most importantly straighter with more hight control on call . And it's only gotten sharper ever since . So many I just wanted to tell you . because I felt it for myself naturally I stumbled over it by accident. But I got there and understood what was going on . Todd what you are teaching is correct absolutely the truth . In my opinion the golf gods will have history be very good to the teacher of golf and the single plane swing TODD GRAVES .

You have probably discussed this sometime that I missed, but I think I see you doing this. That is the feeling my elbows pulled together in first half of backswing guarantees that my torso and, to degree of restraint- my hips,, follow my arms back, and has greatly improved my delivery.

I've been studying your videos for a while now Todd and getting better but this video just hit me, I knew I would find the light bulb moment video that just resonated and this was it so thank you and looking forward to more simplified videos 🤝

Great video, such a simple move if done correctly, do you set your eyes on the back of the ball in the entire backswing, cheers John

Hi Todd, I am a new golfer (120+), I bought your book The Single Plane Golf Swing and been watching many videos on your channel. I wish there was more information on the Downswing and Impact... positions 3 and 4. For example, what does the trail elbow do, how does the sternum align with the ball, when do the wrists release, what are some of the common errors you have seen. Thanks for your help.

Went to the range today to work on some positions. I have two issues. I am not sure I have my hand positions correct and I'm not sure I have the feet and ball position correct. Can you give the measurements for the irons and the wedges from the front foot? And do you have a grip attachment to help feel the correct grip. I'd love to get your training aids, but this economy is doing a number on us.

What is the rough angle of the club in backswing, when club is perpendicular lot the ground? I don’t know if club is too shallow or steep. I don’t know if you have given any information on this specific. I have problems knowing how to fold my right arm! Is my club too shallow or steep?

The club, by design) is on a plane. A wedges is on a more upright plane than a driver. This is your angle. It is approximately 45 degrees but more for a wedge and less for a driver.
