About the Single Plane Swing
The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.

I've seen and saved many of your videos and each time I watch a new video you always preach the same technique, but always find a new way to present it. Keep up the great work. Thanks so much

15 minutes into this video, and am blown away! It's the missing link I've been searching for after over 11 years playing with the single plane swing (handipap 12). Thanks SO much for your work! God bless ✝️

Great video. I am new to Single Plane Swing but agree this is not a quick fix but a process or system to learn. I saw my first Moe Norman video in November. Got back to FLA in January and have been putting to practice what I have learned from your book and videos. Something clicked and my swing is off the hook. I have never hit the ball so straight consistently. Don’t get me wrong I have more work and much to learn but I am a convert to the single plane swing. Looking forward to attending the one day workshop at the end of February in Orlando. This video is a great blueprint to learning the single plane swing. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Great review. I enjoyed your book and have significantly improved my game. I’m 73 years old and find the single plan swing has had the game much more enjoyable for me. Thanks

Best way to hit a ball solid. Wide stance is key-it provides room to transfer the weight.

Great video! I struggle with a part of the down swing. The slight forward move and forward leg brace position have been a challenge to consistently hit. Unfortunately its is way easy to let old swing habits find there way into this golf swing. I like this progressive training concept.

Please explain transition part before down swing more clearly.what is the process of down swing? shoulder bring down the arms at same time weight shift to left or weight shift to left foot first(side to side shift not spinning shift) before right elbow tug in follow with speedy hands motion?

I am 5 foot 5 inches tall (65 inches). The ABT (alignment & ball position trainer) instructs where to place the feet depending on the club being used. How does the ABT work for me at my height? Do I place my feet as indicated on the ABT? Do I shorten the stance? Please advise.

  • @ToddGravesGolf

    @ToddGravesGolf

The ABT marks foot position. If you use the markings to the outside of the trail foot, you Will be slightly narrower. if you use the markings on the ABT for the inside of the foot (instep), the stance will be wider. I recommend that you reference the OUTSIDE of your trail foot when using the ABT.

Great lesson!! Question regarding position #6...What is the effect if you finish in position #6 and do not rotate to the upright position? I seem to sacrifice position #6 in lieu of getting to the perfect finish position. Thanks!

Hi Todd. Disabled Vet who recently took that game up that I love. Had a combat related back injury and unfortunately I am not able to play the way I used to without significant back pain. Looking for a swing that I can achieve good scores but also be pain free. Is this swing for me?

Is the reason why position 3 is so important is because if you can obtain this position correctly it prevents early release? Thanks, Tim.

I think all positions are important because they are all related in the sequence of movement. Position 3 is just the one before impact.

Great video!! One question for you. I have been a two plane swinger all my career and am now starting to struggle with ball striking. Would love to learn the single plane swing. I am now 60 and am on a fixed income and don't have access to hit hundreds of balls a day. Are there ways of practicing the fundamentals of the single plane swing without being on the driving range. Thanks for any suggestions Red

I have a trainer that teaches the swing, and the width will vary based on the club. Wedge stance is more narrow than mid irons and widest with driver.

I stand corrected. First, let me be the first to apologize to you Mr Graves for mocking the Natural golf swing. I was very critical of this swing method in the beginning. Basically, it's because I spent so many years trying to get the "two plane swing" down correctly, that I truly thought the natural golf swing couldn't be any better. Until that fateful day at the range when I hit the wall. I finally had enough of trying to get the two-plane swing down; going week-to-week where one week believing I have it, only to follow up that week totally going back to zero. Taking 2 steps forward, but 3 steps backwards. So, I quit!! I didn't want to quit, however, because I spent so many years playing golf, I just didn't want to give up without trying everything. And that one thing I hadn't tried, but only mocked, was the answer. I was aware of how the Natural Gold Swing worked, but I really never followed the steps in THIS particular video. After watching this video and going out to the range putting to practice what I learned, it's like i discovered Ben Hogan's "secret", lol. The ball was going dead straight. Sure, I missed a few, but for the most part, every club my bag I felt the confidence I was going to hit it very, very well. I could go on, but for the sake of time and space, I just wanted you to know that "The Natural Golf Swing" is the best and most "natural" way to swing a golf club. Thanks again!!!!!!
