Single Plane Foot Pressure and Weight Shift

The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.

I have been working on this! Probably the hardest part getting the weight forward without lifting out of the shot. Irons are 90% but the Driver is still a problem. Hopefully master it soon! Down and thru the shot is a must!
Wow Todd! Where in the heck can you get instruction like this? We are so lucky to have your incite into your feelings and knowledge. And to hear it and then watch you hit the most pure shot, one after another is gift to all of us! One coach! From putting to driver! One system that works for everyone of us! Just amazing!
I'm at that point where I've watched so many Todd Graves videos that now I'm getting Todd Graves Ads interrupting the videos im watching lol!
Oh my word this is brilliant. Just brilliant. It’s so visual will be practicing this. Thanks for the content.
Excellent video Todd. This is the first time I have seen you give the data on foot pressure in the swing sequence. This is a super helpful reminder as a training aid to quantify it, especially the primary location of the pressure points. By the way, yesterday on the range was the first time I have ever heard that “fizzz” sound as the ball left my club face. Did that ever feel good! Thanks for all you do!
I can't wait to attend your schools! Been a Single Plain Swinger for 2 years and need to fine tune with your schools.
What I see in video of pros is that the weight shift occurs toward the target BEFORE the downswing starts.Do you wait to shift the weight after the downswing starts or before?
Thanks for this. What timing, I’ve been working on feet pressure currently and hoping Todd would discuss!!
The most difficult part of this swing for me has been the committment to all in on the process. It is a challenge to keep past swing thoughts or ingrained patterns from triditional swings becoming a part of this single plane swing pattern. For me the post impact finish and weight or force transistion has been a problem. Not finishing the transistion properly has caused weak shots or shots pushed to the right. When staying with the swing at finish, not opening up too soon, or falling back I do get very solid shots and very good distance but somewhat lower trajectory than my previous swing.
The golf swing is complex but when you see and use actual data, it is greatly simplified. The confusion comes from too many "teachers" giving too many "keys" that may or may not help produce correct impact. Showing how the actual movements produce the most efficient result is the real value of your instruction. I use this every day in my game and every piece of your information is invaluable. Thanks.
Am I missing something? When you say the weight has "shifted" to the inside of the right foot (leg) I'm seeing red (which I presume to be weight) on the outside of the right foot. What am I not picking up on?
Great tip, thanks.

Thank you for this video ! My question is , if I am going to brace on trail leg on the back swing , would it be okay if I already start with the 75% weight on trail leg at address with the side bend / pelvic tilt ? What difference would it make starting with the favor of lead side at address versus more weight favoring trail leg immediately at address ?

Good question and I don't really know the answer. From a functional standpoint, there is no reason not to start with the weight on the right foot. Baseball players do it this way. However from a consistency perspective and the fact that the ball is stationary on the ground, and from a sequencing and "all body parts must be in harmony" standpoint, I think there might be a bit of a consistency problem, were it becomes less consistent to get the weight back to the lead foot and the club to impact consistently. I am only making an assumption here. I have no data to validate these assumptions. For the sake of power and more consistency, I would favor starting 75% on the LEAD leg, and then transfer to the right leg during the swing sequence.

@@ToddGravesGolf thank you 🙏🏻 As a student of Graves Golf Academy, I have to honestly say how impeccable the quality of instruction , organization of the single plane swing system , All of the resources , communication with the coaches and staff , quality of products and single plane fitting are . The greatest value is that there is a clear model to match with clear feed back from the coaches , which provides something clear to work towards . 👍🏻
I have figured out 2 Of BEN HOGANS secrets. Why he said he wished he had " 3 RIGHT ARMS " &. " THE SECRET IS IN THE DIRT " think of the ground underneath your feet like the volume dial on your radio
We like to say, that YOU must get your weight to the "INSIDE" of your right hip joint with a braced right leg!! NEVER does the weight get to the outside of the right foot!
