Backcountry flying / Mountain Flying / STOL Flying in my 53 -180, a highly modified Carbon Cub FX2 and a Stearman. I Learned to fly in a Helio Currier. I fly a paramotor, speed wing and jump out of airplanes.
What would you like to see here?
I'm an original member of the Flying Cowboys, a STOL Rat, Oshkosh Stol demo team and creator of the largest backcountry fly-in on the planet, the High Sierra Fly-in and Stol Drag.
For my real job I'm a professional heli ski guide and owner operator of Points North Heli Adventures in Cordova Alaska (23 years). Nothing here but Stol flying and plenty of adventures.
If you like my channel please subscribe, share it with friends and leave me a comment. I would love to fly with you!

This video is the best! It looked like Ibex at the start. Could you please name the grass strip with the ponds nearby? At first I thought Chamberlain but…no 🤷🏻♂️
Been there, done that, got some similar pictures, but I also got a float plane rating in my pilots license. Pretty laid back place but care is needed. In some areas the roads do double duty as taxi-ways and aircraft always have priority.
Looks fun, currently working on my tailwheel with Chris. I will be proficient when I'm done. :)
This is a very informative and useful training video. Found several things I want to try in my old Citabria. Would love a 4 mile stretch to "drive" around on - what a great way to learn this critical phase of TO&L.
Hi bread how can I learn to fly the stol airplanes
Where ya go Man??????
Pretty cringey. Reminded me of giving primary instruction back in the day. Looked like a shi* show. “Advanced Pilot” might be a stretch KQ.
Why is the upper plane of the sterman more advanced than the lower plane?
Hello brad nice job I’want to learn how to flying the stol were you located
Cessna 180 / 185 Real airplanes !
Cool. Is that an SQ2 ?
Sweeeeeet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great video .keep up the good work .
nice bird! 😍i know it.s as originally ...but i always think such open engines need a cowling..
very cool video!
Nice 180.
Nice to see people actually turning! I get pretty tired of watching straight-lining - seeing who can get to the bottom first. Brings back fond memories of starting the first heli-operation in the Chugach back in the 1970s (Alaska Powder) and even further back to the $5 ride up what was to become Alyeska in the spring of 1959 in an old Allouette II. Been there, done that!!
this is the best instructional video I have seen for tail wheel
You can see the nerves in the flying just melt away the longer you get in the video, this training and video are great
Great vid, coolest kid on the block
What PSI's do you run your tires?
See you in March 2024!!! So pumped
Very cool, done that same walk love all the bush planes your the best !
GREAT Video!!!!!! just need more of your Stuff!!
Have been watching Kevin and his friends for so long. Finally got PPL and finished tailwheel recently in a bush plane. Such an inspiring aviator…keep pushing the boundaries and being awesome.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing
Daaaaang this video is just AWESOME! Made me start checking the weather to see if i can go fly in the morning! I hope to be good enough to do this stuff some day. Thank you
He said bring the throttle back for crying out loud
Thank you, Mr. Quinn. You inject respect into this video. You didn't push the moment, opting instead to calculate an preserve for study. Nice.
Is a carbon cub worth the money over super cub.
Love to come and give this a shot
I have some 180 time and would love to get back into the Beast again
I’m a bigger fan of the 51. But they’re both amazing. I guess I lean to the 51 because as a youngster I viewed the 51 to be what saved us, so I probably didn’t give near enough credit where it was due.
I’ve been wanting to do this for so long. I still think that in my area, a helicopter is more practical but these videos are souring me into action. Now I’m scratching my head wondering how to get started.
Awsome! What a ride. Yee Haww!
Hi Brad nice videos from your classes I want info I would like to take classes
No Brad here! 🥸
These are great videos Kevin!
This is good stuff! Damn that wing tip was close....
Can you please share how you combined the outside 360 video with the cockpit audio?
Two different cameras
@@Bigtirepilot yes thanks but how did you combine the external audio with the video? Insta360 software will not allow for import of audio. Thanks.
GoPro provides the voice over, not the 360
Thank you Keven,
Excellent way ( lake bed)to get a bunch of good work in a short period of time. Lots of hard work there for the left seat and great job instructing. I had 185-0008 for many years up in Ak and was by far my favorite plane I have owned. Excellent vid and Happy New Year.
My dream is to fly a plane with which I can land anywhere. When I fly a Cessna 172 plane, I am constantly afraid that if the engine stops I will not be able to land safely. I want to get rid of this negative emotion and enjoy the options of a superstole plane. And now I get into the subject: 1. how many hours do I need to be able to land anywhere? 2. Theoretical lessons hours? 3. 3 flights exceeding 150 miles. 4. Which is the closest hotel to the place where I will have school? 5. The date of my arrival in the USA is somewhere in April if it is possible for you? 6. What costs does what I want involve? 7. In which account / bank should I deposit the amount? 8. It is possible to communicate through Whats App ? I want to mention that my English is not that good, but I understand enough for the first technical lessons about super stol. 😄😄😄👍🛫 Thank you very much! Marian Spataru 0031645536143
First time! case of beer!
Used to love teaching advanced Tailwheel on the 180, thanks for bringing back great memories!
11:40 - Now there's a guy just loving the ride. I bet the hum of that engine was just music.
I noticed in one video you said you had some wing slats. Are you going to use or intrested in selling?
Great flying.Practice becomes perfect,stay safe.🇯🇲
Those are great helmets! Guys that fly powerlines in 500s love them because they are small and light!
love it !
I just can't deal with the constant garbage music! I wanted to like your videos, but man, why do you have to add music???!!
Can't make everyone happy 🙏
