Lake Hood - Lets take a walk

Ойын-сауық

This is a very simple video, viewed best on a big screen, of my walk around the largest float plane base in the world, Lake Hood. Actually, its Spenard Lake and Lake Hood, connected by a channel. So many have heard of this amazing place, yet so few have really been here. This is bush plane mecca and your gateway to Alaska!
I grew up here and if your passionate about aviation, there is simply no place like it anywhere. Its 100% aviation!
I am on my way to Cordova to my heli ski operation, Points North Heli, but the hour or so I had here, a walk around the lake is always a must!
Next time you're in Anchorage, make certain to stay at the Lake Front hotel and go for a walk around the lake. You will be glad you did. You can thank me later.
Leave me a comment, maybe subscribe, hit that little bell for notifications and I hope that this inspires you too go flying!

So I said why don't you go there and call me and I'll see ya on the cam live.. so we did that with me here in clearwater Fl filming her from off my big screen and her waving and filming at the live cam back. Ah the wonders of YT. It really is a busy place and planes everywhere. I was up there about upteen yrs ago and loved it.

Right when I think you could t get any cooler, you share this secret reality and scratch out a destination a future pilot can strive to fly into, and prove even cooler once more.

It’s called the lake front. By millennium or something. I call it the millennium but it’s the Lake Front Hotel. The Fancy Moose Lounge is inside. Great sweet and sour Halibut and Gwennies is just down the road for breakfast. 👍

Thanks for the tour! I can definitely see how you got the aviation bug as a young kid. I attend a trade show in Anchorage every February, so I always make it a point to drive around Lake Hood and go for a flight when possible. Now I just need to get up there during the summer!

Been there, done that, got some similar pictures, but I also got a float plane rating in my pilots license. Pretty laid back place but care is needed. In some areas the roads do double duty as taxi-ways and aircraft always have priority.
