Thanks. Thinking of getting one. I understand there is a "Stats" function whereby it's possible to record speed; heading etc. and overlay that on the video. Any possibility of you please shooting & uploading some video with that function enabled ? Is it possible to shoot clip just by putting the camera out of a passenger window for a while (hand held). Appreciate there are issue with airflow etc but for those of us who don't have convenient mounting points it would be nice to shoot a small amount of some similar footage. Thanks for another great video.

Awesome video, What mounting set up did you use on the Cessna? I’ve got the same camera and and am trying to find a solid way to mount it on the strut.

It's probably just me but the 360 mode is like a really bad acid trip; I don't get the purpose. Otherwise - great video, and thanks. When are you going to take us inside that old house ? Are ya skird ?

Its interesting to see the plane from those angles at certain times. I prefer seeing the pilots perspective views or what's in front mostly especially during landings. That 360 was wicked tho!!

Here's the trick with 360 video. You can not mix that in with regular video. KZread can't handle that properly. If you upload the entire video in 360 it works great. Then you see a normal picture, and you can click and drag/swipe to look around. If you mix it up with regular video KZread doesn't know what's what and you get the funny looking thing with extremely stretched top and bottom. Just try and render a part of that video in 360 and play it on VLC and you'll see for yourself. When I clicked on it, it was because I hoped that it would be a 360 video that I could look around in. I guess the big question is, do you want to let your viewers choose what to look at or do you want to decide for them?

Exactly. Make a separate (short) video with 360. You need to embed some extra information so KZread recognizes it as 360. Then, you need to wait a long time, like a full day, for KZread to process it. After all that, viewers can decide which direction to look.

Kevin check out John Marzulli STOL in 360. Curious if the one X you have is capable of the same video. A real step forward being able to "look around" as you did, rather than the usual fixed 2d video from a regular video camera...I think you can only do 360 for a full video, then we can look around! Thanks Laurie

also - 360 mode almost always does not work with Chrome... so, I skip videos shot in 360 mode (not a fan of it)

I really do NOT like "360 mode", ever. The fixed edit is MUCH better, but again, sparingly. Mixed with regular angle stuff is best

Nice amigo. They are getting better. Early ones had a bad fish eye. But that one is nice.

beautiful panoramic views in flight. don't care for the 360 though, makes me dizzy. overall I think that it works great. Loved the turn around at Turner Ranch. that was way cool from a visual stand point. I think the test was well done. keep up the good work!

If you want to use the VR mode built into KZread, there's a setting you check when uploading the video, but I think it only works if the whole video uses the mode. (I don't really know what I'm on about lol)

Yes I agree as I have only 360 VR when the whole YT video is done as such. Laurie

The basic shots with the 360, yes keep using it and doing that. 360 mode is a no for me. The viewer loses all perspective and distances get skewed. You can't tell if you're 5 feet from the ground or 50 feet.

Wow! That's a game changer. My gosh, I love it! Use 360 view sparingly. But that's a great camera! Do you need a passenger to operate the different angles?

I don't like the 360 stuff at all, never have. it's not how we see things and seems just gimmicky, and frankly, makes me queasy. The wide pans you get, on the other hand are pretty nice and enjoyable. I still can't figure out how it doesn't see the boom pole.

That's a pretty sweet camera, Kevin. Very sharp imaging. The 360 deg. view just not my cup of tea. Also, is there a way to control the pan speed? Would make me less dizzy ;-) Looks like the Turner strip is coming along. Seems like much work since you last showed a landing there. Stinson guy.

The 360 is kinda neat, I found it disorienting and little to add to the story. The pans were great and did more to help tell the story. I would say use the 360 shots sparingly in your editing. In my writing I have to ask myself, does the scene I'm writing add to the story or does it detract from the story. Trust me many many pages of good maternal has been deleted from my work.

The 360 video has a weird divergence that changes the video such that it's hard to really see the 360* aspect.

Drop the 360, too weird, and distracts from your story. This camera on Arrowhead will expand your story, (and hopefully more posts). Great flying Kevin, you are inspirational!
