My Khan related theory is that they won -- for a time,. Then humanity fought back, & its this humanity who learned from the supermen who founded the Terran Empire. Specials like super linguist Hoshi Sato would've been removed from her family for special indoctrination, in this scenario. Unfortunately, the Enterprise mirror universe episode contradicts this.

I love the show. I think it's hilarious. Steve Shives says it's not funny but I don't know how he says that. The humor is very insider. It's probably not going to be all that funny if you don't know the 90s shows pretty well. But Steve does so I don't know how he doesn't get it. They have to come to grips with the multitude of alien ethical standards. I love how they make fun of the officer's penchant for poetry readings and one act plays.

I guess I would say its always been split considering it is called the "Mirrored Universe" Its possible that things went differently in all ages comparatively to your video but the conclusions through some miraculous shit made it what it is today.. I mean while some in the mirrored universe live, others are long dead. Sisko's Wife, Odo, Quark etc. I mean that alone means that it is simply a copy but maybe on some different axis where the choice that was made was different.

In early written history survival was far more difficult and nutrition far less available, this would suggest to me that your left with people who have the strongest genes going forward and now that food is unlimited for most individuals we have obesity and does this add obesity genes to society and 1000 other genetic problems that could have ended peoples live early in history.

People don't understand that, when I say the Universal Translator is the most unrealistic technology in Star Trek (even though we have stuff like Google Translate now) what I'm referring to is specifically its ability to alter sound and even light in midair (light because it apparently makes lip movements match your language and changes text you read). Like, how the fuck does it do that? That's impossible. At least Doctor Who has the explanation of the TARDIS providing _telepathic_ translation, which actually makes it the most logical, if not the most realistic universal translator I've ever seen. Still unrealistic because telepathy isn't real, but at least it makes more sense than whatever is going on in Star Trek.

Well Tyler, maybe if CBS/Paramount didn't make the price of admission as having to pay them for their crappy streaming exploits, then more people would give it a try. See, a LOT of us grew up watching ALL the classic Treks, every day if we wished, for the price of the ads, that we ignored same as the ads people now pay to ignore on their streaming services. That's right, access to ALL Of classic Trek, for free plus some easily ignored ads. This is not the World we are ok with, where we are charged for the privilege of having access to being charged again for the actual content. Streaming services are not dang Night Clubs, where they charge you to get in, so they can gouge the customers for drinks and all else the establishment can come up with to reach into it's customers pockets for more $$$. At least once inside a Nightclub, you can dance and talk all night, and not buy anything. The two drink minimum some gaudy places enforce is tied to tables, so that's not a thing if you choose it not to be. Lest us not forget, when OTA was King, we didn't pay for streaming either. All classic Treks, every day, and NO ONE REACHED INTO OUR POCKETS to watch them. Now, customers must pay to get into their services, and get what? NOTHING. No Bueno Tyler. Never. We buy physical media, and watch cool and creative people on KZread via Playstation. NO ONE gets our money just so we can watch what used to be FREE. Cut the streaming services, buy physical media, and don't look back!

It's like the Terminator timeline now, nothing really makes sense anymore. There is no more 'Prime Timeline' just different versions of events, as seen in TNG 'parallels'. It's really not worth the mental gymnastics to make everything work in one timeline.

Speaking as a trans person who really appreciates the way that kind of coding can be applied to Tendi, I think you're pretty much spot on with the point that if that was an intended canon development, it would have already happened. Just as a hypothetical: If it did happen in season 5, I *guess* I'd have some minimal base level appreciation for one(1) additional unit of representation in a media landscape that's still close to barren... But also take some issue with it coming as some kind of late-game reveal, be unable to shake the feeling that it was coming as a pure thoughtless fanservice retcon, and for that matter find it more than a little disingenuous to do with a (presumably, as far as I know) cis actor. All of which is more reason why it seems highly unlikely to me, because the people on this production aren't thoughtless hacks. Besides what you said about this expectation being bad media literacy, I'd just like to add that setting expectations for a reveal like that is self-sabotaging. If it happened, it'd feel worse than it "should" for all the reasons mentioned, even for someone who couldn't articulate why it comes across as half-hearted ("you may not have noticed it but your brain did", and all that). And when it doesn't, that's just creating the same kind of letdown for oneself that hack showrunners do in genuine cases of queerbaiting. Basically, reading into loose fragments of coding can be really enriching and harmless and something no one's difference in opinion can rob you of, *only if* you're able to keep that train of thought separate from expectations placed on the artist(s). And for the sake of not leaving a comment solely about those three minutes of a 112 minute video: This was great, loved all of it and enjoyed being reminded of some of the funniest parts of S1 that had slipped my mind. I'm a latecomer to Trek and only watching through Voyager for the first time now, and while it's often way better than its' reputation lead me to expect, the sheer depth the worst episodes sink to definitely puts Voy behind LD in my book. I'm glad it even got to 5 seasons in the current media landscape, but it will be sorely missed when it's gone.
