Absolutely beautiful! I love the PNW!
@@jenniferlagua7412 for sure. We could only spend a few days here but we were very impressed with the area. Can’t wait to come back and explore it more. Jade Lake I’ll never forget. Any good recommendations?
I was supposed to hike this last month with my son and the boy scouts. snow prevented us so we went up cascade canyon to hurricane pass and lake solitude. your video makes we want to schedule another trip later in the season!
@@ScottHaun ahhh! That snow field on Hurricane Pass is super sketchy if it hasn’t melted out. Sorry to hear this. The first time I saw the Teton’s was when I was a Boy Scouts many years ago. Ole Tablerock! I’ve been hooked ever since. I do hope you can make it happen later this summer. Many great memories await you😊
@@stepsforthesoul i wont happen this summer since we have to fly in but it will happen at some point...
@ScottHaun I understand. Sometimes the sun, moon, and stars all have to line up to make things happen. My hope is you and your son get to see this with your own eyes someday. Thanks for stopping by the channel😊
Inspiring man! Just so happens I am currently making some changes! Thanks for the awesome video! I just heard of this lake last week!
Yeah brotha! Change is good. Good for you. It’s a sign. Go check this place out. The waterfalls are unreal. Thanks for checking out the channel😊👊
Wild flowers, peaks that take your breath away, glaciers, lakes, the best hiking parter…yup it was a good one.
Yep it was one for the books. So many memories made on this one. It made me so happy to share The Winds with you😊
Really great video quality. Can you tell me what camera you were recording with? Thanks for the awesome video!
Thank you! I was using a GoPro Hero 9 for this whole hike. Lightweight, waterproof, and pretty decent quality. So glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for being here😊
amazing stuff!! What month did yall do this hike?
Yeah it’s was pretty special. This was mid July. No wildfire smoke and wildflowers goin off!
Was so surreal meeting you out here on this hike brother. We had just gotten done watching your videos on the Teton crest trail which helped guide our decision on coming out here. Can’t wait to do a hike together!
I think I was in more disbelief than you were. Pretty amazing how that worked out. It really was the cherry on top of an incredible hike
You absolutely made Hoku’s day. He thought I set it up😅. So great to meet you!
@@nicholegordon2424 hahaha I would think the same thing.
@@stepsforthesoul man it’s such a small but big world. That was definitely the highlight of our trip as well. It’s not everyday you get to meet such great people. And now I cherish moments like this more than ever.
The universe works in mysterious ways. The timing was crazy. We almost hiked out the day before too. Hope to see you two again in the future
Alan Watts , @Stepsforthesoul. I will be there at approx the same dates next month. What did you use for insect repellent? And did you treat your clothes and tent with Permitherin?
Ohhh man! I'm so excited for you. We used the "melt your skin" 100% deet. I highly recommend grabbing a face bug net as well as the bug net canopy. It's only 20-30$. We saved some hikers lives on our way out and gave them our bug canopy as they were going into the Cirque😅
I would treat your clothes and tent as well as the items Hoku suggested. The sweet friends we met on the trail did and said it was a life saver. Enjoy your hike, it’s a good one!
Very beautiful! Thank you for sharing
Yes of course. Some beautiful country for sure. Thanks for being here🙂
Love Alan Watts! Happiness is really all about you. Your beliefs, your attitude, your behaviors. You ultimately have control of your happiness. Joy is the positive feeling you get from an experience either shared with others or all by yourself. Joy and happiness are companions, they go together imo!
Love this. We are ultimately responsible for our own happiness/joy. Thank you for sharing. Have you been to The Wind Rivers yet?
@@stepsforthesoul the Winds are on the radar for possibly this fall. However a big life moment is currently unfolding that may alter our plans…
Ohhh life doing it's thing again...😅 I hope it all works out for the best for you. Fall might be the best time for The Winds. No bugs!
Nothing wrong with a lazy, restful day exploring an upper alpine bowl. Nicely shot video!
It doesn't happen often, but a rest day in the backcountry is such a treat.
What time of year?
This was middle of July 2023. I feel any earlier and conditions on Texas Pass would have been pretty bad.
He said middle of July in the video
Holy shit this video blew me away! Definitely need to experience this!
So glad you enjoyed it. There is magic in those mountains. I hope you get to see them with our own eyes. Thanks for checking out the channel🙂
Great video, editing, and filming! This trail has been on my wish list for years.
Thank you very much! Time to bump it up your list a few spots. Spectacular country. Thanks for stopping by the channel🙂
@@stepsforthesoul I sure will! My wish list is ever growing haha. It feels like no matter how many more trips and places I go to or backpack, my list just keeps growing!
So cool
Damn right brotha! When you gonna join me on an epic adventure?!
This july 16th 2024 will be 20 yrs since myself and my wife were in a tragic car accident she died in my arms... Long have i wondered if this feeling would pass the kiss of my wife doesn't feel like the past 😢
I cant even begin to understand that kind of loss. Im so sorry and hope you can find peace.
I am so sorry for your loss, that pain must be agonising. I wish you all the best because you deserve it. Of that there is no doubt.
So True!

Rad edit, man! From a fellow Idahoan. 🤙🔥
Thanks Bob! Some edits take longer than others for sure. So glad you appreciated it. Idaho is pretty special.
I’ve done it all - like, subscribe, share!
You're the best brotha! Thank you
Love the inspiration you weave into your videos! Thank you!
I loved this Wayne Dyer talk. I feel so many people need to hear this. "Dont die with your music in you"... oh and Glacier Park was just next level. Glad you enjoyed🙂
My dream is still unfolding but I’ve been blessed to have most of my dream come true this far! Love Alan Watts! Cool to see your dream unfold thru your videos! ✨💫🌟⭐️✨
Yes you are! We making this the best dream yet! Creating something special. The richness of a life well lived. All the highs... all the lows, creates the most fulfilling experience. Thank you for sharing your thoughts🙂
@@stepsforthesoul Love that wording, “richness of life!” In my dream I always wanted to be married, have kids, a career, and provide for my family. It all gave me a purpose. Now I’m about to celebrate the marriage of my youngest daughter. Definitely a “richness of life” moment! IMO!
@@stepsforthesoul my father-in-law used to say a married couple with kids will experience higher highs and lower lows. When something good or bad happens to one of your kids the emotion is magnified. He should know as he has lost a child and seen one become richly successful. He frequently would get a tear in his eyes when one of my kids would give him a big hug and tell him they loved him. Ahhh, the beauty of life. Knowing that you are loved and that you matter! The richness of life!
@@SummitSeeker546 yes, yes that is one of those moments. So exciting. Congratulations! Soak it up
@SummitSeeker546 I love this. And have to agree as well. Ive never worried so much as I have since I had kids. My mom told me you are only ever as happy as your least happy child. I have a couple kids struggling with "life" stuff and it wears on me. But I know it is their path and their lessons. Oh the layers of life. It is like a rich layered cake😅
Ive got to hit this trail.......did you stay the night in Jackson Hole before heading out??? How was the permit process?
Yes you do! I lived a couple of hours from Jackson Hole so we drove up the morning of. You pick up your permits at the GTNP ranger station the morning of the hike. You will need to stage a car at String Lake or find a shuttle service to bring you back to trailhead. Permits are open now and in high demand. Get online and see if you can find permits for Death Canyon Shelf, and North Cascade Canyon. Alaska Basin is a good permit free spot between those two. Hope it all works out for ya. Reach out to me on IG with any other questions.
Beautiful nature!
Yes it is! Good for the body, mind, and soul. Thanks for stopping by the channel🙂
oh my friend..... I always love your videos and this one was no exception. I love how you find great messages from the prophets of our time but Theo Von caught me off guard. And I loved it. Guy has a lot of wisdom from a different angle. Good oregano as always. Glad to see ya got blondie in on the cold plunge too. Stunning scenery.... you may actually get me on the trail again just to see that place.
Well, if so, I better be here with you. Way cool spot and easy to hike into. I've been enjoying Theo Von lately. He has such a different way of looking at life. He is no Alan Watts, though😅.
wow the waterfalls by the lake are stunning
Oh I didnt even do them justice. Its something you gotta see in person to really capture it. Glad you enjoyed!
I don't live too far from there, and I think I'll have to go in the Spring.
Well you are pretty lucky then. We hiked beginning of July and still had quite a bit of snow. But if you can catch those waterfalls with lots of runoff, that would be incredible.
Nice job SFTS ! That is spectacular , but even with that said you captured it perfectly. The times when you crest a hill with lungs craving oxygen , and there sits a cirque lake , or a huge peak or view. A cold night sharing a fire , with stars blinking from light years away. When you don't regret the sore feet , as your mind throws off all it's extra clutter, and the grandeur of it all takes effect. It's at those moments that your soul has changed. And it remains in your brain's photo album, and your hearts secret places.
You just wrapped up why we all head to the mountains in a nutshell. You get it. It is such good medicine for the mind, body, and soul. Looking forward to getting out there with you this summer!
@@stepsforthesoul Yes, this is a special year too. Good shape and I am debt free. Going places even in the gas hog truck I have won't be a burden on my budget. I have some super Freeze Dried meals my wife made. Even Peak Meals can't compete. Smoked Brisket breakfast scramble isn't shabby at all. You and our friend R .B. can try some out. Happy Trails ya'all
@stevestewart3905 Im in! Sign me up. Sounds delicious
I'm in Utah today SFTS. Looking up at Mt Timp. I climbed that back in 2007. I saw Mt Goats 200 yards away. The Valley was so far down it made me dizzy. From the exertion of getting to the top and high altitude sickness I was destroyed , but always a nice memory to go back to.
@stevestewart3905 yep that is a beautiful area for sure. Not an easy hike. Bet you could do it today easier than you did back then.
Hi from New Zealand, Kane Lake looks beauuuuutiful man. Also props for the Theo Von segment, I can't tell you how many hours i've spent listening to his podcast while in the backcountry. Awesome video keep it up
Whattup New Zealand! Yes, Kane Lake is spectacular. So glad you enjoyed it. I have loved the evolution of Theo. One of the funniest guys I know but becoming one of the most honest and insightful humans I know. Good stuff. Thanks for checking out the channel. Stay in touch.
Pretty spectacular place! Love the drone footage! Life is like hiking. There is no straight paths. Only a series of Y’s and you need to make a choice. You can’t stop at the Y and just sit there. You need to make a choice. There is no wrong answer only lessons along the way… one is not good and the other bad. It is your journey. Everyone wants to know where the trail ends up and did I take the right trail. It is your journey! Take actions, make decisions, and learn along the way. Enjoy your journey!
Damn brotha! You said it perfectly. I think if you choose to sit at that Y of life is the ONLY way to fail. Nothing changes if nothing changes...Thank you for sharing your perspective. I loved it. 👊🙂 I need to have you on the channel spouting off some wisdom
@@stepsforthesoul haha… Im just an old fart that has some experiences… Been a full life with more to come!
@SummitSeeker546 😄 Yeah, same here. If only I could learn from others' experiences. Instead I seem to only learn the hard way. The more I learn, the more I realize how little I do know.
@@stepsforthesoul you are not alone. Those experiences, successes and failures over time give you wisdom! I’m still making mistakes but I try to Learn from them! Life’s a journey!
Well your words made me think 🤔 quite a bit actually! I understand both the hike and journey analogy.... Thank-you 😊 I will make good choices and let the trail take me to where I need to go.... 🤙
Beautiful!
Yes, she sure is🙂
Wow. Absolutely stunning. I would love to hike that place. Omgosh 😮
It was such a nice reward after the hike. Such a unique setting with all the waterfalls. Classic Idaho. Lots of debris fields from avalanches if you get up there. Thanks for stopping by the channel!🙂
I live in a Sierra Nevada mountains of California, and I didn’t think there was anything better, been to a lot of places, But Kane Lake Measures up.
I love how every mountain range has a different feel. And everybody has a favorite. Mine is the Tetons. I have yet to "feel" the Sierras, but very excited to do so. I hear nothing but good things. I hope you get to see Kane Lake with your own eyes some day. Thanks for checking out the video. 🙂 @steveperreira5850
Great video-very well done. I was fortunate to have been the District Ranger for a little over 6 years responsible for managing the South District of Grand Teton National Park which included all of the backcountry you traversed. I have been retired for years, but have hiked that loop many, many times. You brought back so many memories! Thank you for sharing your experiences. So glad you all enjoyed your experience. As you shared in your video, hiking in such wonderful places helps all who do so to maintain a better perspective of how we fit in to these special places and certainly enriches our lives at the same time. Taking the time to understand nature and the natural world leads to appreciation. Appreciation leads to protection so that those that follow us can enjoy, understand, appreciate and protect these special places so that those that follow us have opportunities to experience what we have in the future. Thanks again for sharing your experiences, your thoughts, and imagery of these special places in such a well-done fashion. By the way-I understand so well the "burger and beer" thought you shared at the end of your journey. Look forward to seeing more of your adventures. Well done.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Your message resonated with me. I'm so glad the video brought back those fond memories. It is true. The more time you spend in those mountains, the more you appreciate them. I have always called it "nature therapy." Being out there seems to put everything into perspective. Everything just makes sense. These Parks are some of our most valuable resources. For the mental clarity it can bring to a world full of chaos. So glad you stumbled across my channel. Stay in touch. Working on a few new videos coming out soon.🙂
Are you able to camp at pea soup lake?
There was one flat spot right on the pass. Everything else was pretty rocky. Not sure if its allowed though. Would be an epic campsite if you pulled it off.
What month was this?
This was middle of July. Conditions like this hike can happen a lil earlier or a lil later depending on previous winters snowpack. End of July is always a great time to shoot for this hike.
Like your style! 👍
This is your Wind Rivers brotha. Green River Lakes is one of the popular doorways into this amazing place. Hope you get to see it with your own eyes.
A fantastically shot video, with crappy background music. Why, why, why?
Well Im glad you enjoyed the visuals. Thanks for checking out the channel🙂
We live in a world of exceedingly corrupt and evil leaders, especially the bible thumpers. It would be allot better for the people seeking God if, we had a shred of proof that God even exists. We do have mountains of proof that the devil exists.
I have to agree that our leaders are so corrupt. I'd suggest turning off the news cause here you will find all the evil you can handle. God is in the places your probably not looking so it might be hard to see the proof you are wanting.
@@stepsforthesoul Well I've been looking for over sixty years. I have seen the slightest clue. I wish it were otherwise!
Wrong weak people that are hurt hurt people. Strong people that are hurt shoes not to hurt others. Cause we understand what pain is once again. Only weak people hurt others not strong people that are hurt. I know for facts I am fifty one
Valid point. Everybody has a choice how they respond. Strong people tend not to be as controlled/triggered by their emotions.
So that’s the reason why. Makes sense to me.
It really clicked for me too. What we put out in the world is a reflection of whats inside of us🙂
