Backpacking the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone- We are all made of Stardust w/ Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson.

Old 7 Mile Hole is a 9.7 mile out and back hike into the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. With over 2,043 ft. of elevation gain found almost entirely on the hike out of the canyon. There are numerous thermal features along the way as well as just outside of camp. This hike occurred during the historic flooding of Yellowstone in June of 2022. I did not realize the whole place was flooding until my drive home. Yellowstone is constantly recreating itself and sometimes it can be pretty intense.
We are all Stardust. The Universe is inside of Us. Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson and Lawrence Krauss go on to tell us the origins of everything on Earth. How we are all connected. How the atoms in our left hand probably came from a different star than the atoms in our right hand. After hearing this interview it had me seeing life differently. To see just how incredible it is to even exist. For life to flourish. The odds are astronomically not in our favor. I, personally feel we have had some help along the way and it is all part of a bigger purpose than we can really comprehend. It had me feeling "big" in a world that tends to make you feel so "small".
I hope you enjoy the video. I hope the message makes you feel "big". Let me know your thoughts.

Beautiful hike thanks for sharing. Love the customized shoes btw. Keep up the great work. The natural world is the great “connector” Whenever I feel lost and insecure, I know that it is in nature where I will find my true self and home again.

Heading there in early October. So from what I gather this could be hiked in a day since it’s almost 10 miles round trip?

Yes for sure. Seemed like all the people(very few) were all day hikers. Not sure the water situation that late in the year. I would pack enough to at least get you down to river in the Canyon. Have the best time! All the thermal features would be so cool with cooler temperatures.

@@stepsforthesoul thanks. Was there last October for a few days and it was neat with all the steam coming out of the ground so had to head back for some more exploring. Best part about October is that the park wasn’t busy and the temps were great for hiking.

@@stepsforthesoul didn’t make it down there this time, we were pretty wiped out from the few hikes in the Tetons before we made it to Yellowstone. We did do the south rim of the canyon from the Wapiti trailhead which was a cool hike taking you thru the open meadows, then some thermal features and then along the south rim of the canyon.

@@user-qc7hr4my7r hey now you still have a good reason to return. So glad you were still able to check out some of the area. Tetons are definitely worth getting some hikes in too. Thanks for checking back with me. I did another hike in Yellowstone this Fall Id think you would like. Video coming out soon🙌
