    Thanks for sharing. Couple of quick questions, how did you create concrete footings for Pergola? Is there any other way to secure it to interlocking that you explored?

    Make yourself a slurry of portland and with a very small paint brush or even a cloth lightly brush your rock edging to fill in those small holes. Like your kitchen, but love your back yard.

    The pvc pipes where you connected the copper lines to the pex waterlines, did you cover it somehow? I can see rodents going in there.

    I cut a piece of hardware cloth to fit the opening and made holes for the pipes. This was enough to keep rodents out.

    Completely agree! Depending on your miter saw fence setup you might be able to get enough support (with zero clearance or near zero clearance fence) but you can’t go wrong supporting the cut this way. One other option would be to lay the liner flat on the saw and tilt the saw so it is supported underneath by the saw’s table. You can also lay a little piece of scrap plywood or similar on top and then apply pressure to that with your hand while still staying away from the blade.

    Do your plants seem to be ok? I switched to rubber last year and planted for the first time this year and now I keep reading that it gets too hot and kills plants and that the chemicals leech into the soil and kill plants, but I honestly can’t afford to replace mulch in bulk every year, so I’m hoping I still made the right choice.

    That is not chimichurri. Authentic chimichurri: - 1-2 tablespoon dried oregano. - 1 tablespoon sweet pepper flakes >> it can be hot but traditional chimichurri uses the sweet pepper flakes version which can't be found in every country. - 2 tablespoon warm water Mix until you create a paste like texture. - Add 1 tablespoon of salt and pepper, mix. - Add 2-3 tablespoon chopped parsley - Add 1 minced garlic clove - Add 2-3 tablespoon red wine vinegar >> important, it has to be red wine vinegar. - Add 1-2 tablespoons of sunflower oil >> or any other neutral oil, not olive oil or other flavoured oils. Mix all and leave in the fridge for at least 24 hours.

    Hi, Thanks for the video. Question on quantity. Did you say that area used to take about 14 yards of wood mulch and then you replaced it with about 2 3/4 pallets of the Rubberific? I'm assuming it was the 2000 lb pallets or about 75 cuft. So you used about 7.63 yards. I ask because I'm reading that you can use about half the amount of rubber as wood and that seems to be your experience, but I'm just checking to be sure I have that right.

  • @blood_sweat_and_beers
    @blood_sweat_and_beers3 ай бұрын

    Yes, I normally go 4+ inches with wood mulch but went 2 inches deep with the rubber mulch. With the fabric under the rubber mulch, it help prevent weeds from germinating in the rubber mulch.

    Assuming island is 3ft x 8ft with a 4ft x 8 ft countertop. About $150 for the metal studs, $140 in cement board, $100 per access door, concrete countertop forms $100-$200, concrete and additive for countertop $150, $150 for sink, $150 for faucet, miscellaneous screws and parts $75. That is about $1,125 before exterior finish and taxes. Stone could add another $500.
