My name is Justin and welcome to my KZread Channel!
Here I turn my passion for guitar into making fun and educational videos for you guys. My two biggest inspirations are John Mayer and John Frusciante, so most of my content revolves around those two. I take the years of research I have put into their sound and gear and try and help you guys sound like, or at least get closer to sounding like, your heroes.
I also provide a bit of a look into my own guitar journey, and will continue expand that as I grow because I am still learning and figuring things out along with you guys. I originally wanted to keep my channel more separate from my personal self but this has become a big part of my life and I felt like I should fully embrace that. It was the best decision as the community that has started from this is amazing.
Thank you for reading. I hope you have learned from and enjoyed the content I am bringing. It's only going to get better from here.

They have them on long and McQuade as of rn. Im in Canada
I also know what's in the box. Speakers! one Ev 12l for the Overdrive 50, JBL 's for the twin, EV 12l for the Ultra. But john could play a Peavey Bandit and it would still sound awesome. Great video!
19 missed calls from "The Source"
Roadie sleeping with the fishies!
I’m shocked that no one is talking about the PRS box on top that is passed by in the video. It’s clearly not a guitar box. But looks like something a head or cab could be shipped in. Is John teasing us right under our nose? Haven’t seen this brought up yet. Maybe this is part of the thing Justin knows but can’t share?!?!?
Decorated in the crate? GTFOH
That plant is essential to give just the right amount of life to the tone.
@@thiagocesaro The plant is part of the tonewood.

Trey prob told him a lie to hide his secrets...
Its all bluetooth connected. No mikes, fake cords hahaha Its mime
Bro made a full video to flex on us because he knows the amp setup and we don’t 😂. lol all jokes, the Sphere setup is crazy, appreciate the explanation
Sounds like he’s playing knocking on heavens door
That's what I was thinking as well.
Thanks for the video! (even the stenciling is cool on John Mayer's road cases...)😎
..........but you will tell us eventually lol??? ...we are ready to know when this Sphere shit is done :)
Cool content as always king!
Oh, thank you God (& Justin) I really needed this explanation :) Thanks bro, great video! I have been so confused about these amps...
Waiting on a pedal board video. I got a quick pic of the upper left part of the pedal board when I was at the show on 7/5. He is using a SDD-3000 delay second to last of his board.
Great footage, thank you J
Silent stage. Damn
Is there a link to that footage of him using it for WDYTIW? That might actually be footage of the album version since that definitely is from the night of the 21st.
Love the Chris Buck content! Just one of the best players around. I do think it'll be on the more affordable end though.
I have the same mine is a dumble modded twin
🤯
Wood breathing, is still one of the most hilarious things musicians say. Its so dumb. You dont hear people saying "no! I dont want tolex over my cab.....the wood dude,...it needs to breathe" as ppl dont really give a shlt about their amps.and if you wanna go one further, you got all the tweed amps that where slathered in laquer, which was only cosmetic as a way to sorta seal the material like a leather or whatnot, its just a treatment.... Bmand you dont see ppl taking amps from the 60s and stripping the cab so the wood can breathe. The worship of the instrument itself, among guitarists is unhealthy. They believe in magic
Here’s the biggest secret to sounding like like John Mayer…….. Talent.
They are the same amp from the guy. Take these two shots into photoshop, stretch one of the gator cloth images over the other amp, and they will line up perfectly
What about the other two amps to the right of it? He has what looks like three different amps on stage.
What else would John Mayer be using other than a fender twin..dumble style.. bandmaster isnt the only one with that knob confirmation
Well Gee I wonder why he would be placing the amp on its side? I know someone else that did the same thing...Jarry Garcia..who had one silver face and one blackface fender twin on its side. My guess is the dumble is close to what a fender twin like Jerry had..
Was this Californication clip from Comerica Park in August 2022? I watched this whole thing happen and the tech come out. Definitely not a dummy rig
Took my son to the 6/20 show. Mayer’s tone was awesome. My son (28) plays guitar and luvs Mayer’s tone. He said that is the tone I’m looking for 😂
Get your son the Vertex Ultraphonix pedal, it is the most faithful rendition in a pedal form of the dumble sound. I have one on my board for solos.
@@andrews2772 he has it. Doesn’t do it for him. Maybe an Amplified Nation OD Reverb amp.
@@jlbaxe a Two Rock amp would be one of the best next steps as well, I like the Vertex because I layer it with my Rockerverb 50C to make it my own, but that dumble purist tone can never truly be achieved by a pedal alone. It also can't be achieved with $250 alone lol it needs more like $5000 for any of the worthwhile options.
Nice, I was at emerald City last week and they have another Fender bassman modded Dumble in the store.
he posted a weird ig story where there was a vox amp inside a crate tha looks like a room from the inside
A little info, Mayer&Bonamassa bought their Dumble amps, Alexander never built them one,,,, Robben Ford sold his other Dumble, he’s kept the blonde, Carlos had some Dumble amp since the 80’s, Maybe a little earlier, plus he’s the last guitarist That Alexander built him so many amps before his death, Carlos was taking care of Alexander Dumble on his last days, funding,, Carlos only plays Dumble and Bludoo amps now, no more Mesa Boogies, Alexander built amps for guitar players with a remarkable TONE, Carlos, Robben, Larry and Stevie, those who made the amp very special famous, Robben takes all the credit, IMO
Cool, You were pretty much right in your speculation before. I love those Emerald City videos where the guy picks up like 5 or 6 bursts or whatever.....
Saw your video and got excited! Thanks for sharing :D Love this content
day 1 asking for a Carbon Copy vid
I have zero idea what half of your words are, but thank you for doing this!
Awesome breakdown, brother
Even though you know how The Black One got its name, you still call it The Black... One
I saw John in Nashville about three years ago. I am an old guy, who has used Ampeg SVT’s and played with Loud Drummers, and lots of guitarists using 50 & 100 watt Marshall’s and Boogie’s. The volume at the beginning of the show was crushing in the front of house. 😢 I was looking for anything I could find to stick in my ears because it was downright painful. I like loud, but the volume levels that the front of house guys can inflict upon audience are Downright dangerous! About 1/3 of the way through the show, they brought things down to a loud, but acceptable sound level. I can totally understand them, not wanting any excess volume on stage when trying to control those types of Db levels.
I mean comparing the markings in between the tuners to the signature on cardinal black’s live at the memo album - that deffo looks like his autograph Thanks to him I own a revstar standard (albeit humbucker) but given that I would have loved to grab the p90 version - If this comes out, imma be all over it
Thank you PRS. I need more guitars! 😮
It must be nice!
Rad guitar. I'll wait for the Matteo Mancuso sig though.
I don’t understand the fascination and love of the whole “Satin Finish” shit on guitars?!?! They’re skipping a step on the finish. And even if that isn’t true, they ALL still feel like an el cheapo first act kind of guitar. I’ve never felt one that I liked, and when I got my 40th anniversary Squier tele, I IMMEDIATELY buffed that satin shit off of there!😂 I’ll be so happy when this satin fad runs its course!
In this case its just the back of the neck that's satin. It's a functional decision, as your hand slides easier over satin, as opposed to gloss. The Revstar bodies are gloss.
I feel like if this will be a new addition for the middle priced revstar and the expensive, it will do well, if it’s only the expensive one then I’m not sure, but love the guitar.
Companies withholding stuff we want IS them making money 🤣🤣
One more thing: Single (on Chris' guitar) vs. a 3 ply pickguard. Then as you mentioned the color and possible satin finish on the back of the neck and tuners.
Chris is the greatest Blues guitarist of his generation super underrated, it's interesting how he's the same age as a guy like Tim Henson "The Blues don't change"
Is Chris the "greatest" blues guitarist? I'm sure Kingfish or Eric Gales have something to say about that.
It looks like it’ll be a Revstar Professional - judging by the back of the neck (satin), rear electronic cavity and tuners - but colour way (I doubt nitro - Yamaha seem to avoid that for production models), pickguard, tailpiece and probably pickups like Chris’ Custom Shop
Recatar standard has satin neck and same tuners
@@CesarLeon very true - but judging by the fact it's a signature, I'd imagine it's the professional model
Yo that’s dope
