If John goes missing, check this dude’s basement, shed, van , or alter room first.

I wouldn't take this as a joke if it were some of the dudes that try to look like JM via changing their style to match his and actually ask around for specifics on brands and such. I'm somewhat guilty of loving JM music & trying to get as close as I can to his tone by matching some of his gear. But, I tell myself I'm not buying Patek phillipe watches & growing my hair out to cut it into butch lez shag whilst wearing fly fishing pants just to go buy groceries lol I enjoy the content. Just don't start covering the fashion particulars & mini-me yourself and it's all good clean fun

Saw John in Amsterdam last Friday. Awesome show. He created an intimate atmosphere in a solid out 17000 people hall. Only played one song on electric, last of the encore, Gravity on the black one. The rest was all Martins.

When we saw him in St. Louis a year ago, he only played electric on one song. I was a *little* bummed about that, but honestly it was like 3 hours of just the best music ever so in the end it doesn't even matter.

I also wondered if his Aqua-Puss MKII is a rehoused MKI AP2 or modded pedal. I had an MKII when it first came out and wasn’t too overly thrilled with it. Then later I got an MKI AP2 and love it; after that I got an MKI AP1 and love it also. I can’t imagine why Mayer would compromise with a MKII. Out of curiosity I got a MKII again last week for cheap on Craigslist. I will try out these settings and compare it to the MKI AP1 and AP2 when the MKII arrives. : )

That 2nd TS10 had a drive marker that was about at the same spot as the 1st one was at so probbably not normally on 10 maybe was tweeked out of place in this picture.

The Katana in the photo doesnt have its knob pulled out. If these are the settings John used for the show then the knob is in it's usual pushed in format

What an amazingly clear shot! and I totally agree, that's pretty uncharacteristic of John to show us the board like that...buuuut....this is a pretty simple "no surprises" type of shot so maybe that's why he's so willing to show it. Is there a chance that this is a "travel board" and coupled with the no real surprises, maybe that's why he was willing to let it be photographed? still cool to see all the settings so clearly!

I'm actually always surprised by where John runs the volume knob on the TS-10. I always found them rather lacking in the volume department and often had to dime them out to get enough volume out of them.

TS10 is temperamental in some ways. I tweaked my EQ on my amp recently and that allowed me to get a more enjoyable sound from my TS10 and my JB Archer.

@@rockyyoytuno When using a pedal as a drive and not a boost, I tend to like my drive sound slightly louder than my clean sound. I often find unity volume on gain pedals to be "muffled" or muddy. The TS-10 sounds fantastic no doubt. Sometimes I just wish it had more headroom on tap

@@JustinJeske The klon for sure. Klons are incredibly loud and provide a dramatic boost in volume if not dialed in carefully

Love John, but this is the worst tour ever. We're just paying for this guy to take his gear on a trip and flaunt it. He's playing at least 80% acoustic on this absurd tour (only did one song non-acoustic when I saw him) but, when he announced it, it was supposed to be a 3-part show (acoustic, electric and piano). And to think I flew across Europe to see the show... Never again. Normal shows only. Great video, Jesse! Love the channel. Keep it up! Edit: typos.

I totally agree, however it’s nice to see other approaches. I tried his approach and it doesn’t work in my rig as well. I’m kinda sorta embarrassed to say that in my rig, the old “boring” Boss pedals work best to achieve a similar sound
