One of John Mayer's RAREST Pedals Used to Sell Out In Minutes...

Ойын-сауық

Arguably my favourite pedal, the Way Huge Aqua Puss MK1 from the 90’s, used to sell out in minutes on Reverb. Now there are multiple sitting on the platform, something I never thought I’d see. It’s one of the grail “unobtainium” John Mayer pedals for the extreme collector that I’m proud to own!

The used market is crashing right now. This is yet another example of it. They’re are deals everywhere.

If you're a collector then by all means go for it. But, if you just want a slap back delay then please don't. JM used a Mooer analog delay for Paradise Valley. That's all you need to know.

Wow, I had no idea these were going for that kind of money. I thought you were going to say $399 or $499 tops…

While of course intrigued by the pedal itself- is there any substantial difference between this and later versions and also other bucket brigade delays? I mean minus the famous user :)

The reality is.. this pedal doesn’t contain any expensive components that justify the prices. Sure, some of them is unobtainable due to manufacturers stopped producing it. But it’s just another pedal and there are other pedals that will get you in the ball park of the sound that it has. I like your channel, Jesse, your knowledge about John Mayer gear is insane but I wonder if these kind of videos just push the price up even further. It’s just a thought. Perhaps make more videos of how certain pedals effect the ”sound of John Mayer” from different eras. The chain is only as strong as the weakest link, unless you use the same gear as John, you won’t get there. You’ll get close enough but not spot on. As I said, I really do like your channel, I admire the work and research you put into this channel and the community. I’ve gained so much knowledge thanks to you (and others).

Hey, JJ ….. why not do us all a favour and do an A/B and find the closest thing, now that you have an AP2 ..? I’m currently using a Providence, btw.

Mk3 is an excellent alternative. I actually purchased my Mk3 from Justin Jeske

I found an AP2 randomly at a PA guitar shop, bought cheap and sold cheap. Way overpriced pedal, way huge overpriced even 😅, as cool as it is that it’s Johns.

I made a video in 2011 of the Aquapuss (kzread.info/dash/bejne/h5We06OYhr3gg6g.html), and it sounded nice, but I never thought it was magic or worth a large sum.
