Hey, I'll never be able to justify the cost of a Gibson model, but I'm an unabashed fanboy. Yes, my D'angelico Excel DC is likely every bit as good of a player but it isn't the same. So, can a low rent screened autographed, guitar made in China be a highly prized possession that I look forward to passing on to my son, someday? Yes, yes it can. BTW I'm primarily a bassist & I've had and play my Nate Mendal Fender P bass since 2014 or 15. I absolutely love the neck on it. I prefer that neck over either of my USA P or J basses. Which was why I got it in the first place. Anyway....If Epiphone does as good a job with this as Fender did with the bass. I'll be Daffy Duck in Ali Babba's cave kind of happy.

Im wait listed to a may shipment. Called like 10 hours ago.

A member of a FB Epiphone page uploaded a receipt from a Canadian store. Price in Canadian dollars: $1899. This converts to $1419.76 US dollars (as of Feb 1, 2024 exchange rate).

I really hope this isn’t going to be a super limited run, gonna try and pre order one as soon as they are available in the UK 🤞🏻🤞🏻

There's really no reason for the gibson models to be so expensive. It's definitely a cool guitar but not more than 3-5 grand. They'll sell a ton of these if they come in under a grand

Im not familiar with Epiphone, do they gonna make a left handed version of this? I only saw a casino and a les paul for lefties

My only complaint is that blue doesn't look quite as deep as Dave's guitar.

That could be due to stage lighting though. I have a Pelham Blue Bonnamassa Epiphone LP and no matter who comes over, everyone always comments on how nice it is. And I've got a few nice guitars.

This guitar has better pickups but other than that the Emily Wolfe Sheraton looks better and is cheaper.

Idk 1299... Used to be able to buy a studio for that, or an SG. I think you still can get a tribute for that price. At that price point, the "made in China" sticker bothers me. Sorry but it just does.

1300-1500 USD is way too much for an epiphone but to each their own

Compared to the cost of a used Gibson Grohl or something similar? Yeah I’ll pick up the Epiphone and be happy. I own the Ubukata 355 and couldn’t be happier even though it cost a bit more.

@@JohnPaulSheets price of the Gibson grohl is only that because of the lack of inventory. It retailed for less. Personally signature guitars are fine but for the money the best instrument possible is usually far more attainable. 1500 usd is in the ball park of quality American fenders. Don't get me wrong, the difference between epiphones and Gibson's, mexican fenders and American fenders is not huge, but to me I'd much rather pick up multiple guitars for that price even. One day these things will be 1000 used assuming they keep making em like the Chris Shiflett tele and maybe then I'll consider it.

Maybe. But Epiphone is really stepping up lately. I got the Matt Heafy custom (around 1100 euros) and damn, they are fine guitars. Quality is topnotch, intonation was 'pretty good' out of the box. The difference between some other more expensive guitars is fading..

DG335 is rumoured to be $1899 according to a sales rep. The Shinichi Ubukata Epiphone is better at least material wise in my opinion. You can get it in Pelham blue, has the diamond holes, ebony fretboard, Gibson 57 classic pickups, varitone, bigsby & hard case. Mine came in at $1100 after import duty. Yes you don’t get the Trini Lopez inlays or the Firebird headstock. But if rrp is to be believed $800 difference other than artist royalty? I don’t think so.
