I'm continually stunned by some of this - honest question: it doesn't stink of injustice and pandering to you all that Type 1's consistently get the privilege of being never criticized or checked for their behavior even when they dish out criticism whenever they feel like it? Adults have to swallow what they serve that's just life.

I'm a 2w3, with a *strong* 3 influence, and man, this is me....often! (hides head under a blanket) lol -I *definitely* have waited to long to pee, in order to finish what I was doing -adore making plans, notes, strategies! -adore efficiency-work smarter, not harder -try really hard not to boast when you know you did a fine job at something!
also feel like needing time to prepare for energy like a 5 which makes sense as im a 4w5. i literally look ahead during my work week to see what its gonna be like so i can prepare myself
as a 4 i hate when my managers say well "blank" was able to do it this way and "blank" can do this why cant u? i feels demeaning. very much a trigger. i always thought i was wrong like as a person til i found enneagram
I'm INTJ 5W4, to be fair, i don't enjoy being around a large group of people, but i don't hate it either. But, to be fair, Type 5's really do not like being around too many people. Or at least, i am an exception.
I whole heartedly agree with your advice for my type 9! I only would add that, as a type 9, I am very attuned to others and how they are feeling as well (to avoid conflict in our relationships). We want our voice to be heard, but will also advocate for others that we believe aren't being heard as well. I recently advocated for a coworker whom I could tell was struggling but others didn't notice. My boss and the coworker approached me (separately and in private) to thank me for making sure her concerns and ideas on how to approach the situation constructively were heard.😊 In person, genuine appreciation for what we do also helps us to feel valued. As a type 9 teacher, I need to make sure that I am working to think about my own family's needs as well as my own to establish boundaries between work and home life. it's just not true!! it's important to understand the reality of a Five's relationship with others - they WANT connection! They just need to be prepared.

So great to see regular Abs content again! As always, spot on! I'm a SX/SP 4w3 478 tritype so types 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8 really hit close to home! And while I've never been compared to anyone at work (because my boss is amazing) I've been compared to my sister and my female cousin my whole life. Now I finally know why it irritates me :) Type 4 pockets of peace should help!

Your hair looks amazing in this video Abbey! (not that it doesn't usually) I think you got the 4 one very right, maybe something I'd add would be around avoiding any form of exclusion: from projects, from conversations, from events, etc. Also, I love the fact that 8 is the only one talking to a 'co-worker' rather than 'boss;' it's a clever detail.

I hate type 7 and im type 9
Nice video. Wonderful suggestions. I’m 9 with 8 wing, which introduces nuance to the 9 energy (we can have bursts of energy and passion, esp when we see injustice). I’m curious to know how culture/ethnicity channels 9 energy. Any book/article recommendations on this? It’s an area that needs work. I believe your video is important because it avoids the negative spin that 9s are constantly subjected to. Non-niners completely misunderstand nines and use pejorative language when describing us (frankly, I’m tired of it). Even the “experts” use negative language to describe the 9s as if they pity 9s. Your video is refreshing.

I have a crush on a 4, and I'm a 4w3 😂. Me and this guy are so hilarious with trauma, and we mostly talk about deep stuff, and we often forget to talk about small talk stuff. It's always about passionate topics. also, i do like watching movies when i'm doing bad and love The Office do much, lol.

I'm a 1 and resonated with the emphasis on TIME! Never heard that before. But then I must disagree about ones' love language being 'service.' I like quality time and words of affirmation. But you got me thinking, because maybe with my emphasis on time and being productive and planned out, maybe having some help would truly help me!
The names don’t bother me but what does is how I’m there for everyone but noones there for me and I hate when people agree with me only then for them to not behind my back because I’m scary but yet I’ve never showed aggression or ugliness but I will speak the truth regardless if feelings get hurt because everyone needs to know the truth
