it has been my BIGGEST reservation and fear about pregnancy, but I want to say that my fears were way worse than the actual reality. I feel very supported by my doctors, family, friends, and Jon of course. And the joy of my baby adds a whole other dimension too. But definitely recommend having a plan prior to pregnancy to manage your mental health -- I got a therapist specifically for this season and it has been really helpful!! and tons of supplements and exercise

Congrats, Abs! Lemon Drop's gonna be a big brother :) Of course, I noticed your KZread absence and I thought, "She's either REALLY busy with her enneagram workshops OR she's pregnant." My younger sister (who's a type 6) just had her second baby (a girl - she already has her boy who's 6 years old) and "pregnancy brain" is not a myth. I couldn't stop crying at your last pregnancy reveal; I'm so happy for you and your family! The joy and glee they felt was so palpable, thanks so much for sharing that with us! Plus, a December baby, yay (that's my birth month - December 15th). Also, turns out I am a type 4 after all (I know, I thought for SURE I'd found my type with the 2 but I always keep coming back to the 4 for some reason :) Fun fact: I have a type 3 writer friend who got pregnant and was freaking out because of how her productivity would be impacted (not that she wasn't excited to be pregnant though). She planned and did as much as she could before her baby boy arrived and has made the transition to writer mama that she loves! Can't wait for "Enneagram Types Getting Pregnant" videos and all that. Congrats again, Abs, Jon, and of course, Lemon :)

Oh, Abbey -- first, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! So happy for you! When I was pregnant, I was sick every single day for the first four months and having to work, as my husband was in school. Just ugh, those pregnancy hormones! I was suicidal for much of that first trimester, too ... I remember sitting in the bathroom sobbing and thinking "If it wasn't for this baby I would off myself"...and then halfway laughing and thinking, "If it wasn't for this baby I wouldn't feel like offing myself." And then I could go on with my day. I went on to have the most amazing kid ever (he's 30 now) and every minute I suffered was worth it -- but still not fun, so total validation for the suckyness of pregnancy. I'm so glad you have already gotten through the horrible phase of pregnancy and into the more fun bit now; all the planning and getting the room ready and reveling in the joys of motherhood-to-be!

He is TOTALLY healed. thankfully, typhus has an easier fix than mono. So he's all back to normal and now I'm the only one who has sick symptoms 😂 though it has been SO much better since first tri ended. ♥️ thank you for the sweet and thoughtful comment. means a lot.

Congratulations to you and your husband and thank you for sharing this. I greatly enjoy your content and you can count on my support regardless of how often you post My daughter is 27 and my son is 24. Being a parent can feel at first like a massive identity departure. There are many sacrifices that must be made along the way. The great news is that by creating priorities in your life you can maintain your own identity. I freely admit that this is easier for a father than it is a mother, but you remember that you are in charge of the thoughts you think in the actions you take. Prioritize, caring for yourself, your husband and then baby. Babies eat up a lot of bandwidth but setting priorities keeps you in control and as an eight I’m all about that control.

Aww, congrats! ^.^ Pregnancy is challenging for most people.

We didn't think we were able to have kids...now at 44, I have a 4 yo son (born in December) & an almost 2 yo daughter. Congrats!!! My first was difficult pain wise but I also had really bad anxiety that I downplayed until about a year or so after his birth when I looked back & saw how bad it really was. With my daughter, I had crazy complications & even spent much of the last month hospitalized & didn't have the least bit of anxiety but about a year after having her, started having some PPD. Every pregnancy, birth, & child are so very different. Our son (I'm almost 100% sure is a 7...I mean text book 7) is very extroverted, talkative, energetic, always wanting to go and do exciting things...pretty much the opposite of his type 5, very introverted, homebody parents (yes, we are very similar). Our girl, I'm not so sure about...she's much more sneaky than him & calculating but I cannot wait to see her personality develop over the next few years. Kids are exhausting & change your brain majorly but they are so fun to watch as they grow & learn & develop into their own person. They are truly amazing creatures. :D

Congratulations! How exciting! You should start a pool with guesses as to what number and wing he will be once he’s older. 😂 I’ll start! 4w5! Come back in 18 years and let us know. 😂
