I wish more people read the Witcher books, the series is so bad in comparison. Season 1 alone they fucked up Yen, Vilgefortz, Ciri and Geralt relationship building (in Brokilon), Kaer Morhen, and the other Witchers. Read the books, they are much deeper, more beautiful, grittier, more real. I really liked Cavil in the role, but the show feels like it was CW'd / hollywooded in comparison to books (and it obviously has been). Don't even get me started on the Rats prequel idea. I bet that would be some high octane bullshit.

I knew that The Witcher was going to struggle without Henry Cavill. It's not his fault, it's the writers and creators who don't know anything about the source material.

The showrunner ignore the Witcher creator input. Given that they ignore the Witcher creator himself no doubt Henry did not like that at all. The showrunner ignore the source material that's why Henry Cavill left. Henry is a fan of the Witcher no doubt he played the games and read the books.

I disagree abt s1, it wasn't really that good, it had lots of problems, from changing lots of important parts from the books, not to mention the bad implementation of the mixed timelines which serve no purpose at all and let's not forget abt the poor cgi like the golden chicken dragon, ball sack armor, and other questionable costumes.

Big fan of the books and games for almost 10 years will not be watching season 4 will watch the trailer though

They should have cancelled it when Henry left cause we all know the damn truth we watched it because of him 🙄🙄 they made the biggest mistake by letting him quit all because they didn’t want to stay true to the source material and he was like ya know what I don’t need this check and I don’t need y’all 🙄

I dont think any significant # of fans who stopped watching after S2 are going to tune in. Without a change in the philosophy of the showrunner and / or writers, it is really a lost cause.

I am a massive fan of The Witcher IP. I’ve played all 3 video games and read every novel and short story collection multiple times. I even liked Season 1 of the show. After Season 2 and the Cavill news, I still haven’t even bothered to watch Season 3. If you can’t keep my attention with this show, I honestly don’t know how they’re getting any viewership whatsoever. Probably the biggest disappointment I’ve ever experienced as a fan, and having read the books, there’s zero chance they do justice to the rest of the source material over only two more seasons.

honestly it is a shame that it ended up like it did. Hopefully this show isn’t the only live action adaptation we’ll ever get. The actual source material and games are so rich with interesting characters and story that if done right it could potentially be as good as game of thrones or other successful shows like fallout and the last of us. I really want this ip to succeed and have a good reputation. Netflix fucked it up no question but someone else like amazon or hbo could make some golf with it. Maybe in 5-8 years someone will try again with a live action adaptation and hopefully the franchise will have an increased goodwill with the witcher 1 remake and the witcher 4 by cdpr having released by the time a reboot comes around to really capitalize on the witcher train.

I'm a Witcher fan.. read the books 3, maybe 4 times. I have played the games, and played The Witcher 3 multiple times. I also enjoyed the show to various degrees. Season 1 was good. Sure, it deviated from the books in that the first half of the books was solely told from Geralt's pov and Ciri didn't really become a character until later, and Yennifer, never a main character... but I thought it was a cool take. Season 2 started getting bad. I loved the first episode of Season 2, but then it just went down hill. But I didn't give up on it. Season 3... actually better in some ways, but just far worse in others. Why did they change Jaskier's character so much? Why did they make Margarita... the most beautiful woman in the world, int a plus sized woman? Sorry, but it was clear the show just started going a direction it shouldn't have. I will tune into season 4 to see how it is because I like the IP, but am not hopeful at all.

I haven't even watched the 3rd season after what I've heard about it.

I dont know much about the Witcher books or games, but the rumor was some kind of report a while back that the studio or writers or showrunners werent giving the source material the respect it deserved and were deviating from it so much that Cavill didn't want to be attached to it anymore, so he negotiated with them to graciously let go of his contract, and they agreed. He was one of the main reasons the show got as much attention as it did, along with the rest of the cast, but I hear a TON of negativity ahead of even the Season 3 trailer dropping. Not sure any Witcher fans out there have any hope, but at least they have their books and games and other stuff. This situation is.......oof, it doesnt look good.

That’s how the books go though. While the show is horribly inaccurate that’s one thing they manage to get right. 80 percent of the fourth book follows Ciri and yen more than Geralt. The first two books endings also largely focus on just Ciri while Geralt is off elsewhere.

The show should essentially be the Ciri show if it’s faithful to the books, but unfortunately they didn’t adapt her story very well.

I don’t think Liam Hemsworth is a bad actor, I just think he’s unlucky that most of his biggest roles were either forgettable or just stuck in bad films like Independence Day: Resurgence. In the Hunger Games movies, his role served only to create a love triangle with Katniss and Peeta. He was also in The Expendables 2 where he was killed by Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Well it's smart to film them back to back if they want Season 5. Simply because it would likely never be renewed if they had to wait for Season 4 to have gone *live*. I like Liam Hemsworth well enough, but I will not watch this series with him in that role. Of course maybe Season 4 will be widely watched etc I just don't see it happening. As this is my opinion the series "declining" is the opinion of this video... I liked season 2 and 3 better than season 1. To me season 1 spent a bit too much time dwelling on things that I had no interest in and not enough on things that moved the plot. I watched this show due to the excitement that Henry Cavill brought with him. This was a guy that played the games, read the books and really wanted to do this. Of all the people you could bring in to try and replace him "that guy" isn't Liam. Yet to be fair I don't think anyone else was either. This video also makes it just sound like they "lost their lead" as opposed to all the stuff that's been floating around about that. Which will all play into the number of people watching season 4. I would NOT have approved season 5 prior to season 4 going *live* if it was up to me.

When I heard that Henry Cavil had been hired as the Witcher Great, I knew that he was a talented actor who cared about the part and would give it his all. I want to think that Hemsworth can convey people , but can he also demonstrate that he recognizes even the smallest differences. The look that he give the queen in S1E4 he's Curse

I stopped after episode 3 in season 1. I saw the signs they weren’t treating the story right and my worries were confirmed when I heard they skipped over Geralt’s and Ciri’s first meeting in Brokilon just so they could get straight to the main books. I also heard they gave away a major plot twist from the final book in the second season. So yeah fans that tried to stick with it even after those things won’t be watching.

Yes I will watch season 4 and 5. I watched the Witcher for the Witcher not for Cavil, but he was good.

I think he left it cause ya boy The rock told Henry he'd be superman but either way without Henry it'll sadly die, and I really loved it. Season 3 is a soft ending, the warrior regains his strength and heads off to rescue those he loves. S4 is a freakin test

When The Witcher first came everyone thought it was going to be the next GoT… fast forward years later, and the show is kinda shit ESPECIALLY season 3. Not to mention the spin-off series is god awful as well. I’ll just stick to The Witcher games…. i’m good on live action Witcher for now.

Season 1 showed so much promise with regards to world-building, and was really enjoyable & rewatchable due to the timeline reveal. Season 2 wasn't great imo. It lost the spark the 1st season had, and instead of continuing to get better it got worse, which is never a good sign for massive world-building shows. I tuned into the first few episodes of season 3 and I couldn't get through it. I literally felt like I was wasting my time. That's just my opinion, but everything from plot, quality, and overall cohesiveness of the story was filled with holes and degraded by the time Season 3 started. I personally will not be tuning in to S4
