  • @ejcheck
    @ejcheck4 ай бұрын

    1- I stopped using the ARC 2- As you can see in the video I had to shut down all of the smart features. 3- I'm now using a Samsung TV which has a similar but easier to handle issue. I now just use them as monitors, and keep the TVs off the network 4- The switch to the Samsung was prompted by a cracked screen that occurred while cleaning my 45. The bushing got away from me and flew 20' and cracked the screen.

    @@ejcheck did you use optical for the sound?.

  • @ejcheck
    @ejcheck4 ай бұрын

    No, my preference is to use the Receiver for switching. I use a Firestick with KZread TV for my main source with Blu-Ray and Google Chromecast on the other Receiver HDMI inputs, I do no switching on the TV, the receiver sends the sound to the speakers and the video to the TV. There is no need for optical video

  • @lycett64

    @@ejcheck so how does the receiver send the sound.”

  • @ejcheck
    @ejcheck4 ай бұрын

    @@lycett64 The same way the TV would send the sound. ARC simply allows the 2 way communication between the TV and the receiver. ARC is only needed if you are using the TV as a program source. So, if you have the Blu-Ray plugged into the TV you need the ARC to get the sound to the Receiver. If the Blu-ray is plugged into the Receiver you do not need the ARC. It sounds like you need to review some basics on HT setup and sources.

    rca cables that come with it are correct they have to be below 50 ohms, I think the ones you got are 75 ohms this is a mistake people make, if you want to replace the cables get triple shielded microphone cable and 50 ohm RCA plugs. what you can do with the plastic box that goes over the RCA cables, and I think it's over the mains cable, put some copper tape inside the box and make sure it touches the chassis that will stop your hum

    I did some restoration on my TD145 mkII. Didn’t change anything at the bottom and inside, just glued the plastic wire holder back on. I don’t believe that extra damping will help improve the sound that much, my Thorens is placed on a 30 millimeter MDF shelf mounted at the wall. I want to keep my Thorens as original as possible. New belt, cartridge, connectors. Shaved a bit material of the pully as the TD145 was a bit fast. You need a balance to adjust the counter weight, it’s not very accurate to set the arm at 2 grams.

    Is "friction" the only thing that holds the Access Point in place in the tube? Or is there something more holding it? Said another way: when you want to remove the Access Point from the mount...do you just yank on it? Is there a risk of it becoming loose eventually?

  • @ejcheck

    As an ex cop, the surprise factor will beat the rapid removal every time. I just bought one of the holsters but haven't gotten it in yet. I don't want to look like I am carrying a weapon. This holster does that. I would be over looked or underestimated until it is too late. Again, the element of surpise in some situation would be on my side. On other situations it wouldn't matter anyway. That's where situational awareness comes in.

    With what expertise or training do come to this belief. I can point out many videos of robberies where the criminal was surprise by what they believed to be a non threat. That's the point, don't look threatening until you have to to set the other on the back foot. Yes, I've been shot at and in those situations that you say don't exist. So stop playing armchair quarterback.
