Thank you. Should you consider a dashcam look at the FitcamX. It looks oem and replaces the cover you just removed for the Radar detector

I just had the leads come loose while on a trip, my window had been replaced and it appears the knocked the wires a bit. I needed the video to recheck the wiring. LOL Enjoy the Valentine

Hey there, came across your videos while searching for how to hardwire dash cam and uniden r3 with my lux 2023 GX. In the comment you said the dash cam connects to the same harness you used for the radar detector, however, in the video for that fitcamx, it says to connect to the adaptive cruise harness, which is the middle one I think. Have you bought and used the dash cam you mentioned and if you did, which harness did you connect it to, the middle one or the one on the right?

I can’t figure out how you use trim tool to release those 2 tabs, can you explain further?

You can do it without a trim tool. Once the housing slide down a bit, you should be able to get your fingers in there at the back to pop it off the 2 straight retainers. Once those are freed, the piece should slide back easily. This is from our '16. The removal is very similar kzread.info/dash/bejne/pqOgtsxrYNq7dqQ.html

@@ClashingwithTofu Before you do you might want to check out the FitcamX. The dashcam housing replaces the GX housing and looks OEM. @@ejcheck thx Elliot…not big fan of dash cams…finally got the wiretap in thanks to your video…I was able to just use my fingers and frankly just got lucky. My Uniden r7 is back in action as I hate using the cig lighter. Nice and clean now!

With a typical dashcam, you will need a power converter to drop the voltage to the 5.5vdc micro USB input. But, FitcamX replaces the window trim behind the mirror with a new piece of trim that replaces the piece. It directly plugs into the Lexus harness and looks OEM
