Thorens TD-160 Dust cover repair - nothing goes as planned

I was rebuilding a Thorens TD-160 and wanted to use an old Dust Cover I had. I would need to patch a hole in the back to get this to work. I've never worked with Acrylic before.

Nothing went as hoped. It was my 1st attempt to work with acrylic. LOL
