as someone who only played rivals 1, I am amazed by the magnitude of this story! a few things I found interesting: - sylvanos is the only playable "god", with orcane possibly being one too. does this mean we could get more >.> - fleet and olimpia seem a bit OP in the story, with them engaging in 3 fights in a row - the stories of eliana and zetterburn/forsburn and clairen are so good, they deserve their own movie - if fleet is in rivals 2, could this mean we get slade and the other 3 "thieves" too? that's be cool. also I hope etalus and eliana make it to the sequel and get a bit more to story relevance - mollo and pomme are from the future. I hope they find a way to rivals 2 somehow. maybe they followed clairen... somehow? lol
Im no follower in any of this, no idea or understanding about ALL of this. But the supposed 2 worst characters of the game were almost banned / have been banned.
Banning a character is basically saying that the developer is wrong

Some say that kirby should have more air speed or that they should copy more moves, but to be honest, if you want to make kirby viable you just need to change hammer, which is most of the time weaker than foward smash, for another ability, like the fighter ability or the cyclop guy ability, which could be an amazing combo extender

It feels like cheating when someone else does it, but when it's you, it's the result of you putting in hard work learning the game. Remember wave dashing in Melee? If they decided to patch it, would we be shunning the inventors of wave dashing? Programmers are responsible for a game's playability/viability. Hosts are responsible for the rules in their contests. Cheating literally means going against the rules, so it ain't cheating if there's no rule about it.

mmmmm I think in this case it's less about what's allowed and more the thought behind it. If it was well known, okay. There'd probably be a counter to that by then. But hiding it so you can pull it out at a major tournament (relatively, 25 bucks????) is pretty scummy. It's like if you were gonna win a card tournament, then your opponent pulls out two cards from their sleeve that lets them shoot you in the face

as a Zelda main in SSF2, i didnt expect a low-tier like Zelda to be in mid-tier. i totally respect your opinion about Zelda but overall, shes just great and amazing to me.

I don’t think it’s cheating. There’s been people who’ve done similar things in Speedrunning, (kept a glitch or strategy to themselves but used it when it most benefitted them.) however it wasn’t cheating. It was unsportsmanlike though. That’s the thing that should be ruled here, guy’s unsportsmanlike and should be seen as such. He knew of a trick, and only used it to benefit himself, instead of sharing it to be patched out, either privately or publicly.

So, your asking me if keeping a _Glitch_ , a Damn Involuntary Behaviour that couses the basic format of the game (Being made of Meelee combat prinarly) to be Made unplayable, secret from the community to then abuse it in a Tournament for money and try to even for a second defend your grounds by saying it's a *Technique* is it to be Considered Cheating or Not? I hope that's Sarcasm right there, because i think there is no less that you could go in a fair competition. It's the equivalent of inventing a Mixture of various substances to boost one's performance during a Sport Tournament, then adding some Drugs to the conconction and say it is a "Special Technique" becaue it is mixed with your other Formula... IT IS STILL DRUGS (or Bug, in this case), you cheap Ass Con Man!
