I loved the game, the only issue with it is that sometimes the lag makes true combos not true anymore, couse the way they made the netcode makes the enemy position rollback to when the hitbox hit then with wierd timings, so even tough offline the timing and positions make sense, sometime they aren't where they're suposed to be and then the hitbox Don't colide with the hitbox after the hitstun of the previous attack... even so it's 10 times better then smash ultimate online, and it's a free online game that Don't require online subscription services.

Disney could potential do this, but Warner Bros has the advantage of actually having a hand in the gaming industry and even more importantly fighting game which Disney does not. I'm also not sure how willing they are to make their characters fight.

Mobile games such as Mirrorverse? Also, Disney could gang up with Warner if they see it fit. They can't make a good game, Warner can, Disney has the money, Warner could be pretty pricey for this project, but I dont know:/
While it's fantastic, it's not quite my kind of platform fighter. Maybe it's just muscle memory, but the floatyness and the controls are hard to wrap my head around. I still prefer games like Rivals of Aether and Slap City, but since Multiversus has cross play and people actually playing online, I'll definitely be sticking around. None of my friends play games on PC, so Rivals of Aether and Slap City are basically worthless to me, which sucks because they're amazing

It's a shame too, cuz Rivals is genuinely such an amazing feeling and satisfying game when you get into it. Multi has a great coat of paint on it, but it's heavily carried by the characters. Try this same business model with new random characters and watch it flop. For me its def not the floatyness, but the lack of end lag on moves that does it for me. I'm used to fighters where people throw out a mistake and get punished for it, here you just throw out attacks without any reprocussion. It's a fun party game for sure, but I'll stick with Rivals. Especially since Rivals 2 is on its way.

I forgot Fraymakers comes out in a month or two, I really hope it does well. We'll confirm in a few weeks, but I'm positive it'll have the superior gameplay. Would be amazing if a hype animated character trailer accompanied the EA launch
I been playing this game so much since initial launch It’s no way going to be a “smash killer,” like some losers said but for me it did kill off a bunch of enjoyment I have for smash. With great online, crossprogression, unique and recognizable characters, and hopefully a future of amazing prize pools I def see myself dropping smash to commit to this game more, esp since I’m better at it and having more fun with it
I actually love the no sheilds lol. I like how the dodges also act like an airdash too.
Honestly don't even wanna try it - visually it looks cluttered and its difficult to tell what's going on, whereas ssf2/melee are way cleaner and have amazing glance value. Gameplay wise it looks slow, floaty and basic. The characters don't really draw me in either as a European tbh, it seems more targeted at an American audience.

The game only gets cluttered when playing 2v2. When you just start out you’re definitely not going to be fast but once you get the movement down it’s incredibly quick. I’d suggest you look up some tournaments or just try the game yourself.

I think this video hit the nail on the head. The biggest issues for me is the gameplay. It is super floaty, way floatier than Brawl. It is really mashy, to the point that 2 stock matches are long enough. Theres not enough offense or defense options, like the vid said, no blocking or grabs. The characters are pretty well designed though, I do like what some of the characters have but its not enough.
Multiversus is like Brawlhalla for me. I’ll play it for a bit, have some fun, and then move on. I can see why both are big games and why people enjoy them so much, but they just aren’t for me. I think it’s the overall style of the gameplay, both are just very floaty and oftentimes mashy, I just don’t vibe with it. So yeah, more power to the people who’ll play it, but I too am just waiting for Fray, cause I feel like I’m really gonna stick with that one.

I feel like the most obvious thing that multiversus does that other platform games don’t is how deep you can go if stage. No character has a bad recovery.

Most of brawlhalla's characters are original characters made for the game. The only exception is Rahman and ezio
I was so glad this game ended up good and wasn't pay to win. I heard from a few people that the microtransactions were really bad before the official launch and it was like $150 to unlock everyone, but I'm really thankful that that isn't the case and that you can unlock everyone without spending a dime with patience while also being unlocked in training and local play from the start
the gameplay is literally my favourite part. coming from smash since I was a kid, this game reminds me of melee in terms of the movement and gameplay, I love no shields with the exception of steven, it creates a much more active environment where people aren’t so gravitated towards turtle playstyles with lots of shielding. It’s more of a footsies game where you really have to think about your positioning, I believe that also pushes people to learn real true combos. Another thing, the ability to jump twice, use two aerial specials, and then dodge twice creates a CRAZY amount of opportunities for everyone in the cast so far. the game is only really surface level right now and i’m working my hardest, as well as many other players to optimize and really get into the intricacies of the game
@kevinfought

It's nothing like melee though lmao
I had a blast with MultiVersus as much I had with Team Sonic Racing in terms of the voice lines and exciting gameplay that are off the chain.
I like the game! But I don't think it'll be a Smash replacement. This game just isn't very good in the context of a 1v1 imo, but for 2v2s it excels. Every character's kit offers some kind of great synergy in a teams context.
Yessssirrrr
it's crazy
I've put almost 50 hours into the game so far, and while I do love the game, I'm going to have to agree with you on the gameplay not being its strongest point. The gameplay doesn't feel as balanced as Smash. While it does feel overall faster paced, it doesn't feel as polished. Hopefully as the game gets updates, they will fix the gameplay issues, and make it the perfect platform fighter.

One thing to note this game is not made for 1v1. This game is made and design around 2v2 fights

M.u.g.e.n: Hello There :)
I just wish it played more like rivals and it feels very floaty
I think there's a few major things multiversus gets right. Free to play, pay to progress faster, is a simple but effective model. The free roster helps out as well, letting people try characters before they spend in game resources. Rollback netcode is huge. It even draws in players from traditional fighters, that's how important rollback is. And speaking of traditional fighters... Cancels. Multiversus ups the casual accessibility with an increased focus on cancels, similar to how some games have gatlings which let you easily go from normal to normal. Combine this with nice movement and you have something easy to get to the fun with. Rivals has some cancels as well, but it's nowhere near as extensive as this.
It will be the second best platform fighter i mean advertise on TV alot
Between Multiversus and Nick All-star Brawl, you can see that both were made by passionate devs, but also which one was more well-thoughtout, what audience it was going for, and which had freedom in development
mains batman and wants ben 10 in the game bowler is based
Honestly, I Don't mind the fact that it doesn't have shields or grabs, only dodges because I liked to mash back in Smash 4 and learning that dodging was a thing after I've been using shields was so cool for me, so when I learned that they staled in Smash Ultimate it certainly made my gameplay more sluggish. However, just removing an important attack system would simplify the game to a point where you only have to focus on what the attacks do themselves, which can get kinda dumb down and boring compared to more intelligent play unless the Perk System and the attacks themselves actually replace the Attack-Grab-Shield system with something that is at least on that level of quality. So, does it in your opinion, Mr Bowler guy?
6:11 it's not just that this game doesn't have shields and grabs because i remember that you loved RoA, it's just that characters lack complexity, certain characters feel like they have specific moveset just to reference their series counterpart instead of being part of their gameplay and for the most part aren't supporting their other mechanics in any way.
@BowlerSSF2
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I definitely feel that. And you're not wrong, I do love RoA despite it being fairly different from Smash, so you might be right about that.
Well.. that didn't age well lol
if anyone have it ssf2
Fingers crossed we get lord of the rings and regular show in the game.
You may complain about how Jake the Dog can be an edgeguard nightmare, but in a world where a rocket and a safe can suddenly fall down in the middle of your opponent's combo, that's just cartoons for ya.
Goku was in a platform fighter it called battle stadium don
Multiversus gameplay is kind of alright not amazing to me but the characters are so unique and interesting and fun which makes it really fun and the focus on 2v2 allows me to play with all of my friends as well instead of having to play 1v1s against them
Every day I pray for Jolyne Cujoh to be added since WB Japan owns JoJo's and she could act as advertisement for Stone Ocean batches

what
I think Multiversus is going to be the game that companies are going to make platform fighters. Maybe Sony might give PlayStation All-Star a chance, Microsoft might make their own platform fighter, Nickelodeon could give the dev team a bigger budget, heck Disney is probably regretting cancelling the Disney platform fighter/fighting game. The original leaker who leaked Multiversus said companies are going to be making platform fighters because of Smash Bros massive success so the companies what I said could come true.
I think the only thing I don't like is that it has Smash 4 Knockback
Yoo
There are at least 7 million players playing 1v1. Just got my friend into the game and when I checked the leaderboards, I was chilling at 8k and he was at 7 million
The only reason I'd play this game is Adventure Time characters
4:02 wb owns mortal kombat yet didnt use scorpion
MultiVersus is pretty dope. It's free and cross platform. It's online play is also pretty solid. Overall it's way better than NASB. It's got a future
Music as loud as voice, why
if the add kirby ( and he doesnt suck ) then the game will be perfect
What they do wrong: $20 skins
My only prpblem with multiversus is simple....i feel a lack of attack priority Wich makes it hard to play at certain times like when facing harley quinn who is i belive the only characther to have an infinite in the game Her basic attacks are so fasts that she can break easily super shields and then knock you out But alas that is my only problem with the game rn
I main Superman
I just realize that some of the reasons that people thought why Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl failed did not even hold up if Multiversus continue to succeed.
good game is gonna have the same as fortnite, there is a begin hype then slows down new character goes up then a week later goes down fortnite has the same update = hype up then after a few days down
I like how Genshin Impact is entirely free. You can experience the entire game all story and cutscenes without spending a single dime. Yet it’s the most grossing mobile game ever just because of the wishing system. As an F2P Genshin player, the game is amazing as long as you have self control and are fine with the characters you have. I could care less about how a character looks. I play it for the plot and I’m not saying that as a joke. I know most people don’t play games for story but Genshin does have a great story.

What
Another big factor is that it works online. Playing Smash Ultimate feels like playing in mud, and that's before you factor in the bad netcode.
Everyone being floaty kinda sucks, makes the game so much less hype in general
I think the IP will only make it popular for so long, I expect it to die a couple months after EVO
oof, why does nearly every "smash killer" die in like a month
I actually love Multiversus over every other platform fighter because I don’t like other platform fighters cuz they never did it for me. Smash Bros. Definitely wasn’t for me. But Multiversus did it for me.
Multiversus = Better Brawlhalla. You can’t change my mind. One thing to add is that I really REALLY don’t like 1v1 in Multiversus and I much prefer the 2v2 format because the game was built around doubles and it shows.
I still like nick brawl and it’s combat
I “like” MV, it’s a good game but I don’t like playing it. It’s very mashy and it takes a while for things to kill.
its simply succeeding where smash failed
It's too floaty and choppy for my liking. I played too much of Smash Bros and Rivals as I've gone used to the feel of those games. Perhaps once Multiverses improves which it will as it's in its beta right now, I'll give it another shot.
Funny enough, I think Nick All Stars (currently) has more content than Multiversus and it's cheaper than unlocking everything in Multiversus too. I guess the free to play model is effective, cause Nick is fun, but no one played it
I like the gamr but I also kinda don't. The game feels slow and cluncky. The arenas feel clouted and hard to recognize chatecters in a 2v2 with that in mind the no dodges thing make the game move fast while still beeing floaty. A thing this game did right that i think Brawlhalla didn't was that every charecter has an unique moveset. Good to see feloe batman main
I just don't count any of the smash fangames. They don't set out to do anything of note by virtue of being exactly a smash fangame.
I'll tell you what it does better: it doesn't have its roster filled with one billion characters from the same series (ahem...Fire Emblem characters in Smash).
I'm a finn main I'm sorry
I just dont enjoy Multiversus it feels like a rushed game with built in input delay and boring moveset. I just wished the used to licenced characters better.
ive said this 1000 times and i will say it again, the game is like 4/10 for me right now but the moment FINN and the other really really really broken characters like jake and bugs BUT MOSTLY FINN gets nerfed it will be a 10/10 and be my favorite platform fighter. the game is so much fun when you run into someone not playing finn. playing against finn bores me to tears. theres no "skill issue" involved with disjointed hitboxes so bad he should see a doctor and backpack being literally the best move in the game, thats a balancing issue, take notes. once he and to a lesser extent the other outrageously op characters get nerfed it will be soo much more fun to play and not bore me to tears. i still would like for characters to be good and feel but some characters just have some tools that make me question why im playing the game. hopefully some of it gets fixed in the post evo patch.
In my opinion yes and no
I play smash for the game play first and the cosmetics very last. Why waste effort of meaningless and overpriced skins when they could divert development to more characters instead. Not a fan of the engine which restricts movement. Also, who on the design team thought hmmm... let's pick the worst type of attacks you know the one's everyone hates in smash lets put that on every move. What I'm referring to is the moves that stop all momentum and are hella laggy. For example ridley, sora and kazuyas down air. When you use these moves they all can really only be used one way making them some of the most uninspired one trick moves. I have a feeling this game will go the way of halo infinite and will not last.
Will be bigger than smash also because smash will always only be on switch or any other low quality Nintendo consoles while multi versus is multi platform
bro can't even claim the game feels good to play. was getting ready to write an essay down here but my guy can't even bring himself to *lie* lmao. dude really said "Yeah, it's a predatory pricing model with some brands slapped onto it, but does it feel good to play? HELL no. Go buy it."

the controls and movement in this game feels so janky and clunky, nothing flows smoothly, i have no idea how anyone thinks this game is good, honestly
If multiverses steal iconic characters like sonic or bayonetta from smash, then smash will actually fully die
none of the characters interest me the artstyle feels cheap subpar gameplay can be free-to-play but I wouldnt even play if they paid me
