A thing that wasn't mentioned that's pretty important is multi-hits. When doing those, between every hit, you need to make sure the hitboxes are 'refreshed', so they can hit the same target for each hit. It's in the comments, but it's fairly easy to miss if you don't see it first!

This is an awesome starter guide, I come from the Rivals Modding scene, so I am used to their system, but I'd like to port my characters into fraymakers. Thanks for the guide!

I think it's pretty cool that Fraymakers is allowing custom characters, and I like how the game has its own editor. However, this does make me a little scared for Rivals. I've only recently begun making custom content for rivals, and if that community dies in favor of a newer one, I don't know what I'll do.

I think rivals will only die if rivals 2 ends up being better in every way (and that doesnt have a release date yet). For now i think theres just 2 communities (ill be it alot of people are in both)

I tried to add sound to an assist yesterday, and thanks to this tutorial, I now know what I did wrong!

Been wanting a tutorial video

I've been hoping for a tutorial since early access dropped so I'm super grateful for this video. Any chance you could make a side video talking about Character/Move Stats, and giving a summary of what values are considered strong vs weak for the format of Fraymakers? Would help knowing how to avoid making OP characters

I'm not opposed to the idea of a video like that but I feel like that's gonna require trial and error when testing your character. I think that's one of the fun parts too.

love this tutorial! very helpful. One problem is that I cant find the fraymakers character project so I had to start from scratch.

About the character sprites. What can be done about the sprite models that have colored backgrounds? Like I was working on doing a Jenny XJ9 and Danny Phantom mod for the game. Only confusion im getting is sprite sizes and how to zoom out within the fraytools application

When i try to publish it my button doesnt turn blue it isnt pressable basically

I’m stuck at the end of the file setup section. I did everything in the video but I did not have a custom folder so I made it with the same name his has. Then I did everything else that followed but when I copied the path into build1, the publish all button stayed greyed out. Does anybody know a fix?

When I export my project to test my character the game doesn't want to see it even when I reload the custom content does anyone know how to fix this? Edit [ok so it appeared in the game but it doesn't work]

Pretty much the same. Making an Assist is very similar to making an attack for a character

Hey. Once I went to test the mod on Fraymakers near the start. I found that the uploaded mod showed up but didn't seem to contain anything, and cannot be played.

You can change the fps in project settings

could someone help because I did every single step but the "publish all" is not working

Hopefully a stage tutorial will come next as there is no real tutorial on that yet.

one big issue ive come across on trying to get the character to even be read is that once I made a custom folder (and I followed all the previous steps) now fraymakers sright up wont open, it keeps closing before the title screen even shows up

There's no limit, you can resize images in the editor, I mean, someone made King Dedede, and he was straight up just a 3D model turned 2D!

Is there a certain size the images/sprites should be?

3:05 the publish all button is greyed out and doesn't seem to change no matter what. EDIT: I figured it out, you need to manually enable the plugins. Whoops.

@@ohz999 in the top left, it says file, edit, view, and plugins. Click on plugins and plugin manager then enable the three that are there. If there isn’t one there, you need to follow the installation guide.

In your animations, make a frame script layer and in it type: self.updateCharacterStats({gravity:0});
