    Do you help Canadians with U.S credit, but live abroad? I’ve found it very challenging to get U.S credit this way

  • @PrinceofTravel
    @PrinceofTravelКүн бұрын

    It is very challenging indeed. Canadians can somehow physically get to the US for in person application at times, if you are living abroad, it is not feasible to do so all the time. In this case, I suggest you to continue pursuing Canadian cards for now. Which are not bad at all also. Canadian cards, if done right, have the 2nd best card market and products in the world. We have members who have lived in Hong Kong, Singapore, UK, and Australia before, all agreed that the US is the best and Canada has the 2nd best.

    If a Canadian have US Individual-Tax-Identification-Number (ITIN), then you can apply for this card. Most of our team members are all Canadians and have this card also. There is some work to be done to acquire the ITIN but it is worth the time and effort. There are some services online that help Canadian getting ITIN also.

    I come in expecting to see things for Canadian market as usual. Can you put in the title of the video in future whether it's for US or Canada? Since your channel seems to do both, which is different from some other channels (that are US only) in this topic.

  • @PrinceofTravel
    @PrinceofTravelКүн бұрын

    It is a lot easier to have a dedicated to just tailor to the US market, theirs is 10x our market and most English viewers are from the US, so they will have no trouble at all making Pure US content for US market. Canadian market and companies need to be transient and able to do both. Many Canadians consumers also use US cards. But rest assured, we will continue to have Canadian-specific content.

  • @raylee17
    @raylee17Күн бұрын

    @@PrinceofTravel I understand the need for you to cater to the US market. What I mean is that it would help your audience to include that indicator in the subject line of the video, so we won't come in and watch the video and only find out the content is not relevant after 2 minutes.

Rogers World Elite Mastercard (rogers and shaw bill, costco 2% back, 3% on foreign transaction fees, put earned cashback towards any annual fees) What do you think about this credit card portfolio for a family of four that does a lot of groceries and food deliveries that plans to travel 1-2 times a year on points. Is it normal for a travel points program to not allow its use outside of the home country? Scene+ points cannot be redeemed while abroad. To sign into your Scene+ account, it requires multifactor authentication through text or call to the phone number on file. I spoke with an agent for Scene+ through online chat, they confirmed that redemption of points is not possible when travelling abroad because of text or call verification to sign in. So if you are going on an extended trip or you are changing your itinerary during the trip, you cannot make use of the Scene Expedia portal while in another country. You would just have to pay for whatever hotel/flight/car rental and use your Scene points after you return to Canada to offset your payment.

  • @PrinceofTravel
    @PrinceofTravel13 күн бұрын

    Or you could have a phone number with a company that sends text even while you are abroad. Most major telecom companies can do this, only those smaller ones can't. Just go with the big 3 - Rogers, Bell and Telus and you will be fine.

    Finally - after being either 50k or 75k for the past 10 / 12 years - and paying $599 year for a premium Visa Aeroplan Credit Card I have learned more about e upgrades than all the conversations I’ve had with AC agents! Until I retired the majority of my international travel was paid by the corporation I was an executive of. And what personal flights I was simply too lazy to figure out how to fly at lower price. Now as a retired person I have the time and interest to use the nearly million areoplan points and the 125 e upgrades I have. I just booked a return Vancouver- Sydney Australia departing Jan 25. 2025. Using points and e credits was so confusing and my calls with Aeroplan were long and confusing. Finally it turns out that the majority of my e credits expire on Jan 16 - 9 days from my flights! I wish I had starting watching these videos prior to getting started. I also question whether my long term loyalty to AC and the credit card I hold with TD is worth it.

    It also depends where you live and which airlines is the most accessible from your location to other destinations. My guess is, Air Canada is still the most accessible to you. So it's probably still a good idea to maintain your loyalty to them. Naturally, if you live in London, then you can choose either British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, or Lufthansa if you live near Frankfurt and Munich. In Canada, there's really just Air Canada and westjet, and westjet doesn't give you these "Aspirational Travel" much.
