I'm glad you brought up the difference between money you would've spent versus using the retail price of the redemption. Those can lead to 2 very different valuations.
Valuing points for your situation is so important!
We need a video of your collection of credit cards all layed out, with a brief description of your favourites. I think that'd be fun since credit card designs can be cool to see
You should do an updated video on the best minimalist wallet, or a whats in your wallet kind of video
Should probably factor in deducting the value of points earned on a paid booking as well when calculating the value of points used.
Thanks for another great video. I’ve been “hoarding” points for a number of years and your suggestion to use the points as soon as possible in the event of them being devalued is good advice! I think I may have to book a trip soon. What’s your thoughts on converting Amex points for Aeroplan miles? Thanks!

It's good but I haven't seen a transfer bonus in a while.
Thank goodness "issued" tkts have a one year validity.
Thank you! I was questioning my Bonvoy redemption, but based on this it’s worth 1.1 cents per point (USD) so I’m feeling great about it!

That's a great redemption. Marriott points average closer to 0.7 cpp

@@LK_EBM I actually used the wrong price in my calculations… I used the pre-paid non-refundable rate when I did the math. That’s not a rate I would usually ever book.. plus with my redemption its a refundable rate anyways so when I compare that rate it gives me a value of 1.23 cents per point. And my hotel stay is in peak-season just days before Christmas! Now I’m very proud of my first point redemption lol 😝

Can anyone explain to me how points lose value?
Points constantly keep being devalued while credit card fees keep going there less value year over year

Probably as a result of inflation in the economy as well. Nonetheless, there is still excellent value to be had in the world of points and miles.
By transferring them over to me😊
Aloooot of mention of devaluation, I wonder if it's a subtle hint 🤔

@@kashmani7 well everyone else is doing it so it’s not too crazy to assume other companies will follow suit yea. I doubt he has insider info or something tho

@@kashmani7 There's already been significant devaluation this year....United, Virgin Atlantic, Alaska, Marriott, Hyatt... Etc

@@LK_EBM that doesn't mean aeroplan can't get devalued too 🤔
I wish my teacher taught me this in school. 😏
