    100% fair. It was a trade of animation length for consistency. Like it bothered me when hopping to iceborne and seeing 1 or 2 ticks vs the guaranteed 5 in risebresk. Also vertical chops were used more in iceborne cuz they could get 4-6 ticks on a legs. Ed consistently got like 2-3.

    I prefer SAED playstyle. CSS makes me feel like I'm playing knockoff swirchaxe. That being said, there are matchups that are objectively better for CSS. Smaller/Faster monsters are a nightmare for SAED and I often find myself going from charging phials into an elemental discharge just to build damage and stun before another combo can begin. And those monsters, it would be hard to deny that CSS isnt better

  • @greadyknight
    @greadyknight17 күн бұрын

    I found that Saed is big on prediction while css is big on reaction. Im better at reacting than predicting so css plays better with my style, but i put in some serious hours to learn and master saed as well. Imo if the numbers werent as skewed as they were in sunbreak, css and saed would be mechanically balanced cuz they warranted using one over the other based on matchup. I think moving forward they should continue this by having buzzsaw deal with fast mons and saed deal with slower or preditable mons.

    As cliche as it sounds; I'm Planning on both Bow Gun Types, Light & Heavy Hot death; in a variety of exciting flavors, a bullet, for every occasion, with every Monster's names written on them I like both; Light Bow Gun, For Strafing the Monster, Up Close to Mid Range, while Firing, quick, agile Gunning, like 3rd Person Shooters - useful for Solo Hunts, or when up close to Monsters And Heavy Bow Gun; for Mid to Long Range ordinance, artillery, sniping, etc, great for when the Monsters are agro'd by the Team, The other 3 Players beating on the Monster, while I provide range support & overwatch "It's Poisoned!" "It's Paralyzed!" "Its Asleep!" "It's down!" "It's tripping!" "It's KO'd!" "It's...!" "IT'S LIMPING!" "IT'S CAPPED! IT'S CAPTURED!" "IT'S SLAIN! IT'S DEAD!" "WE BEAT IT! WE WON!" Or "DAYUM... He be 'splodin'!" Or "Thanks for the Heals / Buffs!" All this; I'm hearing regularly, While at Sniper like Ranges & extreme distances, while the Monsters steady explode, suffer Ailments, are Poisoned / Paralyzed / Asleep, etc, for Sleep Bombing, Pre-Tranqed before Trapping, etc All while I'm well away from the Monster; listening to the steady rythm of HBG Rounds, like a steady drum, & the Monster is far enough away, it can't even be heard, as suffers loss I miss my Special Scope This is why I main HBG; in World, It's a Sniper's dream Weapon In Rise; it's a mixed of Charged Shots & Rapid Crouching Fire, like a portable siege weapon The LBG though; has a simpler style, involving Wyvern Blast - the Flares, that you can plant on the ground or Monster, effectively bringing back Aerial Bow Gun, coupled with Barrel Bombs, for some explosive action, on the regular The thing is; I'd have to choose: LBG for quick, agile run n' gun, Or HBG's destruction at distance, But I can only pick one, on hand, Sigh... Then I heard; how Wilds lets you have 2 Weapons... 2 WEAPONS LBG & HBG!? 3rd Person run n' gun, AND I get my Sniper fix!? That's gonna make all those Sales, in the Game's Shops; really rich, of'a my Zenny, as I dump a whole piggy bank of Zenny, on Ammo In Generations Ultimate, World & Rise; I'm Ammo savvy enough, To where I hardly go through most of my Rounds, since I know how to get the most out of every Shot It's going to be interesting; to see How my Item Sets look, knitting out for 2 different Bow Guns, Light & Heavy, then swapping them out on the fly, accordingly It's going to interesting; to Shift my Tactics & Strategies, in Accordance to the Hunt Plus; this will mean twice the work, grinding, buying, forging, upgrading, testing, learning, experimenting, prepping, training, Etc - so things certainly will be eventful & never dull or boring Also; we get a Mount, a Raptor deal, that lets us fight, WHILE Mounted... that's going to be insane - especially juggling Bow Guns - I love it already Although; I didn't spend all that time in older MH games, mastering Long Sword & Great Sword, for nothing... I wonder how they'll pair up... Or Long Sword & Bow Gun... Decisions, decisions...

    I’m worried what this means for armor skills The devs mentioned they’re looking into changing the way skills work to make it make sense (which also worries me the game is still far from launch) but imo worlds armor skill system was close to perfect. All it needed was negative armor skills like the old games. Negative armor skills would both balance hunters better as well as improve build diversity. But the post world armor skill system is undeniably better and more accessible than the needlessly convoluted classic system. So I hope the new system is just as good, and doesn’t (like world and rise) make hunters OP with 7-10 positive tier A armor skills at once.

  • @greadyknight
    @greadyknight17 күн бұрын

    I dont miss negative skills. Lorewise it doesnt make sense for smithies to leave in negative skills on armor unless they didnt know how to take them off. Ie As forging techniques improved, negative skills became a thing of the past through proper technique in 5th fleet. In terms of gameplay, it just complicates set build to avoid punishment. It actively discourages gear and deco combinations, which is why i think it was removed moving forward into the 5th fleet. Build how you want, play how you want. Something between world and rise would be the right amount of power. World was on the lower end of power (for the 5th fleet) while rise was insane, so the middle would be a decent balance. Wilds is taking place in the forbidden area, so monsters and their gear should reflect forbidden levels of power.

Alatreon is pretty good, but it requires a crit boost +6 to work with the same power as ahtal ka. The last set is just the jho ceana set, the only thing is that it doesnt have room for element investment, but you get purple sharpness and razor sharp.

    I like how sunbreak handled it, you had monster parts that were generally hard, and took poor raw damage, but could be fairly easily broken with elemental damage. That and they also buffed element so hard, I'd say its better that element hits harder because you have to work for it. Its not cheap making many sets to cover multiple elemental weaknesses, vs one raw set. It would really be nice if MH wild tied element with blighting monsters, like you could really shock them, frost them, cover them in flames.... for a few seconds. Kind of like paralysis, poison...etc. Rise balanced raw and element really nice. World was not able to because elemental bonus damage was just too weak. It would get on par with raw set ups at best, but couldnt really surpass them. Fatalis raw meta is practically one rarity above the other rank 12 gear, theoretically rank 13 considering how strong it is.

    I always liked the concept of elemental damage in Monster Hunter, but it was always second to raw and just felt borderline unneeded at times. IMO, it should be structured as: pure raw is the general catch-all that lets you hunt all monsters effectively with just one build, while elemental is the more specialized build that lets you hunt specific monsters a bit faster. I haven't been too up to date with either of fifth gen expansion's content, but if that is indeed the case with end-game Sunbreak then I'm glad they finally got the system in order. They could also expand elemental damage as a concept by maybe having special mechanics attached to them. They were kind of getting somewhere with Alatreon, but they went way too far overtuning it and alienating pure raw weapon sets. Things like having monsters with parts that can only be broken with element damage for an extra carve or to make specific attacks a bit weaker (like how Barroth's head can only be broken with impact damage), having elemental damage trigger a slightly longer flinch against certain monsters to serve as the mid-ground between KOing with a blunt weapon or not KOing at all, or having more cases like with Agnaktor where parts of its body get softened up by specific elemental attacks (just don't make it as annoying as World Lavasioth) all can make elemental damage feel more unique than just being extra dps while also not literally forcing players to forgo pure raw for a single fight.

  • @greadyknight
    @greadyknight2 ай бұрын

    Yeah like, raw made an entire weapon type impractical to use for a minimal return. Not everyone cares about time attacking, so it wasnt in the forefront until rsb made the damage noticeable. I feel like the values were wildly unbalanced, but right where they needed to be in order for it to be good. I just want wilds to make element just as viable, just not with the 200+ element values.

    another nerf on element on the older game was the decision to put the quest board, where you know what you will hunt and so there element weakness and the place where you can actually change your build to use this weakness in another room... so 2 loading screen each time you change your hunting target to have the privilege of killing the monster slightly faster... Also the fact you kinda need to have a browser open to actually get the elemental weakness instead of just guessing And the set building in game without any ability to preview your armor set before crafting and the fact you need to navigate 5 screens that have like 15 pages per rank and all rank one after the others make me want to not engage with the set building and just make a single raw set... • @greadyknight

    Yeah, thats a good point. The drag of using element barred a lot of people from using it. Set swapping was tedious before my time with mh, so i forgot to list this reason. Unless you were farming the same monster 20+ times, using element set swapping was a time sink. Also, hunter notes being bad/nonexistent, meant you had to look up resistances via sites like kiranico. It was only true up until rsb tho.

    I still remember when I tried CB in MHGU coming from Rise and World. I was so confused, and it was a totally different experience. Yellow shield? Guard points acting like hyper armor? no AED/SAED after guard points? I was completely lost and had to watch a guide on it. But with that said, I learned to love it. The instaguard and evade on adept style were very fun to use and the third axe chop on valor is cool, and I really wish it comes back in some way because it would be wild with the extra savage axe/CSS ticks and would feel so good. Not to mention that any additional moves to the axe mode would be welcome. Having energy blade back in some way would be amazing, especially if we had switch skills implemented in wilds. Maybe instead of it firing a big laser, it consumes your phials and gives your sword an energy effect that gives you extra range and damage on your sword attacks or opens up a whole new sword move. Thanks for the video btw <3

  • @greadyknight

    yeah i was wondering why i would ever use safi when fatalis gives me so much more QoL, i shaved 5 mins off alatreon just by switching from safi to fatalis armor

    Well, the reason to use Safi would be for the innate damage buff (40% affinity and 150 element) and the innate healing, mixed with the fact that it's a far, far easier set to build - easier to farm the monster, and fewer / smaller deco slots. The post-Fatalis CB meta document posted on the Monster Hunter Meta subreddit claims the Safi set has slightly higher element, while the Fatalis set has slightly higher raw (presumably thanks to the sheer amount of decoration slots available). I personally have no idea about the exact amount of element that's required for the element stat to catch up to raw damage, but I imagine it might be a worthwhile trade for an SAED build, where almost all the damage is from element. Also, I haven't done proper testing on this, but if you're able to consistently stick to the monster and keep hitting it, the consistent incoming healing from the Safi set (especially if combined with health augment) might be just as comfortable as the comfort you can get from extra decoration slots on the Fatalis set. For what it's worth, I agree with you that Fatalis is a better build for the vast majority of players, but there are legit reasons to pick a Safi build over it - mostly the fact that it's far, FAR more accessible, especially for newer players. You need a minimum of three Fatalis Evil Eyes to be able to make the full set (not counting the weapon); that's a pretty tall order for newer players.

    7:30 does this assume savage axe playstyle?

    Yes, but saed always takes the higher base element/attack for phial damage. Fatalis for impact safi for element
